Very important win.

The two goals we conceded were both poor. Jackson not marking and Gusto allowing CHO to come inside was criminal.

Negative crap now over. I'm so pleased for a three goal scorers who at various times have had criticism.

Caicedo unbelievable yet again and Palmer always looking to create chances.

This will be a shock but my MOM was Petrovic. He has also improved and I love to see a keeper taking the pressure off defenders when catching a cross.

One small footnote. Good subs today from Poch and they effected the result.

11 May 2024 22:09:54
Yes crucial subs Tom. Defence shaky again and Petrovich not a bad shout for MoM . I also thought Silva worth a shout as made some vital intercepts and clearances on many occasions. Palmer getting the nod from tv pundit on basis of one or two eye catching moments. and his assist for Mudryk goal sumptuous. But overall had a fairly quiet game by his standards. James assist also brilliant to see. And Sterling rises from the dead so to speak with that vital curler to get us level.

Any one else starting to love this team latelyšŸ„° in particular Jacksonā£ļø.

12 May 2024 07:04:58
Yes Poch.

Jackson didn't have a great game, and the ref didn't give him a thing. But love that celebration and love that work rate.

it feels like something is happening finally and the team are starting to find that self belief even when they fall behind, which u would of said 2 months ago at 2-1 game over.

Only watched parts of the game as I'm in Cyprus right now on a family holiday. But my how good is Caicedo becoming now he's finding his feet? Great at breaking up play but he played two fantastic balls to set up our quick two goals.

I will not give up on Mudryk he just hasn't played as much as he should for his age another season and there will be a very good player there I feel.

Agree2 0Disagree

11 May 2024 21:07:03
Mudryk has definitely got something about him. Caiciedo is mentally good really stepping up.
Jackson scored but he could have teed up mudryk twice, gusto and palmer. Game would have been done.

11 May 2024 22:44:04
I think galagher dropping in next to caicedo has really turned d point for moises he looks much more solid next to galagher, enzo doesn't get near this team atm.

Agree0 0Disagree

11 May 2024 22:54:08
Is it Gallagher next to him or is it Cucurella thatā€™s helped Caicedo or both?

Agree0 0Disagree

11 May 2024 23:05:01
I think Gallagher had a poor game by his standards today but I do agree about him being better suited to a No6 role.

Agree0 0Disagree

12 May 2024 01:23:52
cucu form an sitting into cm could definetly be a factor in helping moises perform but definetly a positive from poch.

Well done boys! And especially well done Pochetino! What a turnover. 6th place is very realistic now.

11 May 2024 20:24:04
Even 5th is possible. Spurs will lose to City in the midweek and then they have Sheff Utd on the last day. They should win that game but you never know. Win both of our games and we have every chance imo.

Hi Ed2, I know you've got close ties to Chelsea FC. I wanted to know what your opinion was on the situation at Chelsea? What are your thoughts on recruitment, and the model Chelsea are going for? Also, how do you think Poch has done as a manager?

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - The recruitment process is doing fine with youngsters and going forward all looks well in the medium and long term. In the short term, there need to be some changes and they should happen this summer. I am not sure what you mean about "model". There have been significant difficulties this season with injuries and losing several players for the whole season. If he stays it will be better next season but that decision will not be made until the season is over.}

Thanks for your input ED02. I totally agree that the recruitment process is doing fine.

Please can everyone stop banging on about who is signing next. A billion quid has been chucked at this team since the yanks arrived, but the paint is still wet. An identity of sorts is beginning to show, but that will take a step back the way of CG leaves (imo) . Jackson is so much better than he was 35 games ago, I think Caicedo will be brilliant for Chelsea. Madueke is the first player probably since Willian or Hazard who goes by his marker which panics teams. His maturity when he layed off to Jackson last weekend was a pleasant surprise and showed maturity that was missing only a month ago. Getting a turn out of Cucu, with the RB a revelation as he challenges James. Lots to love, give it a chance.

All depends who leaves with the exception maybe a CF.

Scot. behave with your language boy. "the yanks". don't be so rude and ignorant. Many fans, posters and others are American, this site has no place for such comments.

Question for the Ed, s
Whats your thoughts on Fabregas as a manager so far, huge fan favourite at chelsea a real gem of a player, great to see him doing well as a coach, he was 1 of those players who u always felt knew were d ball was going before he even took a touch.

{Ed002's Note - He hasn't had a coaching career yet. A few months as the coach of a second tier Italian youth team and four or five games as a caretaker which he had to leave as he did not have the appropriate coaching qualifications. And he is a real jerk.}

Agree0 0Disagree

11 May 2024 22:48:56
lol thanks ed I always assumed Fabregas was a likeable guy, but guess we only see the great passes and good side of him on tvšŸ˜‚ thanks for the insight do,

How do you think the project is going now at CFC, might be nieive but it does seem like they are finally settling as a team and learning from mistakes and of course getting big players back like james helps the cause, Do you think enzo gets near the midfield on current showing last few games?

Overall do you think the season has been reasonably successfull?
If u asked any chelsea fan pre season, cup final, semi final and 6th place they would of bit your hand off I think win there last 2 games and it sets us up really well to progress into a stronger season next year and maybe add 1 or 2 more experienced players also to help.

{Ed002's Note - Enzo Fernandez is out injured for the rest of the season. By the time he returns there will have been changes in midfield. The season has not been successful as the side have failed to qualify for the Champions League.}

11 May 2024 08:28:55
Ed002, which of these transfers are unlikely to happen for Chelsea?

ST - Benjamin Sesko
LW - Chris Fuhrich
AM - Georgiy Sudakov
LB - Milos Kerkez/ Bradley Locko
CB - Tosin Adarabioyo
GK - Marcin Bulka.

{Ed002's Note - What sort of question is that?}

Agree0 0Disagree

11 May 2024 10:27:07
As in, you mentioned Sudakov as the primary target to replace Gallagher.

Are the other players also being looked at other positions?

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea has lists of options for the various positions they are looking to recruit for. Some of these players are included and others are not.}

My Current Opinions On Manchester United

We should keep Gallagher and chalobah;

If they want to leave, we haven't ever and shouldn't keep players who don't want to be here

If Gallagher won't sign deal, we are forced to cash in, same as Mount situation, it's lose lose, he walks for Ā£0 the owners get called morons and if we sell him they get slated for cashing in,

For the fee's they'd fetch I don't think you can get squad players for that money, someone should give a little and compromise to stay and accept a contract

IF, they are sold, as exciting as it is for unknown players and potentia, we need some proven talent, palmer, nkunku can play 10/ or wide, sudokov looks exciting but we've only seen highlights and that's in Ukrainian league, look at mudryk's adaption to prem,

11 May 2024 02:07:54
Iā€™d prefer Gallagher to sign an extension and stay but if he A) do we really need to replace him and B) what sort of midfielder do we go for?

A) we have Lavia, Ugochukwa, Caicedo and Enzo as deeper CMā€™s and DMā€™s, not to mention Casadei and Santos, both of which are extremely highly rated. Casadei has only gotten a few mins since coming back from Leicester but Iā€™ve liked what Iā€™ve seen and Santos, apparently Barcelona potentially want to take him on loan. So thereā€™s a lot of competition already. Even have Chucky too but heā€™s more of an AM imo.

B) I do think if we were to sign a replacement given the depth we have at CM/ DM id be more inclined to go for an AM player. Never seen him play but Sudakov who weā€™ve been linked to fits the bill. Doubt heā€™d come but Iā€™d go for Musiala as he can also play out wide. Also been linked with Xavi Simons, heā€™d be expensive though and not sure what his defensive side of the game is like tbf. Ed001, have you seen much of Xavi or done a profile of him?

{Ed001's Note - I have only seen a little of Xavi Simons and he was playing more of a wide role in those few games. Musiala seems a lot better than him from what I saw though. I did like the workrate though, even though it was not going well for him, Xavi kept going and tracking back too.}

Poch has seemed bit fed up with speculation about him next year. Today he sort of indicated that it's not about if we want him but if he wants us, seemed fed up,

10 May 2024 22:24:38
Think thatā€™s pretty fair of him tbh. Every week he has to answer the question of ā€˜are you going be sackedā€™ or along those lines. Maybe he doesnā€™t like the squad, or the plans for the summer. Maybe Bayern or someone wants him. Maybe he doesnā€™t think weā€™ll improve next season. Like itā€™s not entirely up to the board whether he stays or not, he and his team have to be willing too. I imagine if the club want to keep him heā€™ll stay. But if I was him, maybe Iā€™d hang it out there as a possibility of leaving of his own volition. Perhaps gives him a little leverage, potential contract extension or maybe keeping certain players or whatnot.

Heā€™ll know heā€™s being moved on heā€™s got too.

11 May 2024 02:09:49
Nib I donā€™t think itā€™s guaranteed heā€™ll be gone this summer. If we finish in the European places Iā€™d probs have it at 60/ 40 he stays imo.

Agree0 0Disagree

11 May 2024 07:30:03
Even if we don't finish in the Euroopean places, there definitely has been an improvement since December (apart from the Arsenal and Liverpool ganes) .

I would like to see him next season with a fully fit squad having had a clear out of players and purchased of an experienced CB and a too ST.

Agree0 0Disagree

11 May 2024 08:28:41
Before now I was poch out group but now I'm open to giving him another chance. In all I think it's best he goes this summer especially as he's not a winning manager, can't go long again without a trophy which will not happen with poch in the helm. I still believe this squad can do better with a different manager.
I would like the decision made quickly to allow the prospective new manager time to assess the squad to identify area of weakness. It's even possible that it's poch that makes us feel certain areas are bad or good. With another manager things might change. I remember the impact of conte on Victor moses.

Agree0 0Disagree

11 May 2024 09:22:41
I donā€™t think there was anything controversial with what he said.

As mentioned above he is being asked repeatedly about the club replacing himā€¦he has previously answered that itā€™s the clubā€™s decision, that the sporting directorā€™s have a big say and now he has come out and answered a question that inferred any decision would be on one side. He pointed out that it ā€œcouldā€ be a decision that he and his staff also have an input to in terms of whether the job they were brought in to perform was in fact realistic, given what they now know. In the same press conference he also talked about (succession) planning for the future, which is what all clubs should be doing anyhow.

What happens next season if he is here? Is the extension clause going to be a further media talking point if there is radio silence from the club?

Agree0 0Disagree

11 May 2024 10:12:56
Steve, I think he feels a lack of respect from journalists who keep asking the same questions about his future.

I think on this occasion he was just gently reminding people that he also has the right to review the performance of CFC.
