Let's pay the money for Bruno Fernandes. Scored his 31st of season. Hits the ball better than most strikers, absolutely needed, Pay the money, what a player!

ManCity also interested in him, I don't know how we can compete with them for him in addition to the transfer ban that we have got. Good player though.

It's a cliche but ain't football a funny game. Who, after that dreadful 1st half display, would have bet on us ending up in the Champions League by 6.30?!

Well done to the players and to Sarri who has been heavily criticised (not least by moi) .

Let's now win the Europa which will have the added benefit of denying the Arse a CL place.

Completely agree with all your comments MDW. Many football cliches came to mind yesterday: funny game, small margins (esp. when watching AFC v Brighton to see whether AFC might falter so we could get top 4), game of two halfs etc.

Do hope we can win the Europa Cup now (and will be at the Bridge on Thursday to see if we can get to the final, though getting to Baku probably beyond me) not least for reason you mention!

Given degree of chaos last summer in transfer window that included late arrival of Sarri, we have had a better season than - at many times - I thought possible. We were in League Cup final of course and perhaps a bit unlucky not to get a win there. Now let's win on Thursday and in Baku! Oh, and hope that our transfer ban appeal upheld/ ban postponed at least.

I would MDW but yes football is a funny and wonderful game.

Can I also say the support at the match was superb.

Great result, haven't had a chance to see the game but the result is massive against a strong Watford side. Sounds like a game of two halves but we were clinical in the second half and good to see RLC get another goal. Top four is incredibly close now which is huge.

Also on a sidenote, good to see Lampard secure playoffs with Derby.

What an important result that is today! Only minus was Kante picking up an injury. Win puts us in 3rd a point ahead of Spurs, hopefully Arsenal drop points today and we lock up top 4.

Nice to see us scoring so soon after HT as well, 3 great goals.

Big game at the Bridge Thursday, hopefully the atmosphere will be as good as the away leg was.

Come on you blues!

Haha more proof Christensen is average and can't handle himself in this league. He'll never be a top defender in England. And as for Alonso and Jorginho pfft 🙄 Luiz should be in midfield or gone simple as.

People can criticise me all they want but our defence is a bunch of fairies. You need one ball player and one monster I. e ZOUMA, not two ball players who can't defend. Good god I can't wait for a clear out. Hope Kante's injury isn't too serious otherwise our season could be over.

3 points, clean sheet up to 3rd. Champions League qualification in our own hands.

Touching distance of the EL final.

I've absolutely nothing to be giving out about.

Jorginho was good today to be honest.

Today I actually though AC played very well, but guess my view might be a bit tainted, as I'm from Denmark. However, Luiz and Alonso were really, really bad today. Also thought Higuain played poorly, but decent goal he got.
Think people should start recognicing how good Jorginho's been as of lately. Superb game today, and he was also great against Frankfurt and some of the previous games. Hazard and Ruben make a formidable attack at out left side of the pitch, hopefully they'll shine for the rest of our games as well.
We got lucky today - don't think we'll beat Watford if we play the same way defensively, and Leicester might also be more clinical. Hopefully we'll improve :)

Jorginho was pure class ELI. I also thought Kovacic had one of his better games!

What does everybody recon will sarri or hazard both or neither be at Chelsea next season I would like the Ed's views on this too.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note - I think if Chelsea gets a Champions League spot Sarri will be back. Hazard will be gone in my opinion}

05 May 2019 17:22:45
Sarri not the man we want for champions league football to be fair premier league football as well we will do everything the same again we’re so predictable he’s got to go for me hazard will go but I hope he doesn’t.

I'd give Sarri a go.

He's too honest with the media and SOME fans don't enjoy the football.

But otherwise, I think he's done really well.

No pre season. A squad built for a different type of football. A transitional period.

Top four and potentially a penalty away from a cup double.

Young players breaking through too.

I hope Sarri stays.

Goodbye and thanks to Hazard and Cahill.

There's a lot said about Reece James, he's arguably in danger of being over hyped, but the terrific season he's had at Wigan will be outlined by the fact he'll captain them today. He'll also be subbed to ensure he gets the standing ovation his season deserves.

Everyone who hasn't yet should watch the clip of him getting the sub and going off.

It's remarkable the impact he's had as a loanee in his first professional season. Maybe the hype is getting ahead of the actual performances, but I for one can't wait to see him back at Chelsea.
Should be excellent as rotation with Azpi.

Performance aside the Wigan staff and players have all been talking about his character. Future captain, that'd be lovely to see.
