Hi there, Ed 02.
I know you have said a few words on the Ratcliffe bid, and forgive me, if you feel like you have already answered this, or that you do not wish to answer it. What I'm wondering is if Ratcliffe buying the club is actually a possibility, or if a new owner has already been chosen in a way that makes it impossible for Ratcliffe to buy the club?
So, in other words, if his bid was too late?

On another note - as a person who knows so much about the game, and what goes on behind the scenes, do you happen to think either of the bidders are more suited than the rest? If so, I would love to hear your opinion!

EmilSC

{Ed002's Note - (a) Yes it is a possibility, it is up to the owner and advice he gets from the board of the club and others he trusts. (b) A new owner has not yet been chosen, the Raine Group and the club have already had the final pitches and have made a decision on the proposal to be presented to the owner. (c) In my personal opinion, Jim Ratcliffe is a really nice guy and would be the perfect owner; and by a long way my preferred choice. He has the benefit of not being part of a large consortium which could see separate factions develop nor would they take on debt to part-fund their bid. There is a complication over Nice that would need a plan to resolve.}

1.) 01 May 2022 10:06:59
Thanks a lot for your reply! I think of him a something close to the ideal owner, as well. I've always followed cycling closely, and I like the ambition he showed when he bought Team Sky!

2.) 01 May 2022 10:46:56
That's swayed my opinion then.

3.) 01 May 2022 14:59:33
I was thinking the same Emil, the ambition he has shown with Team INEOS have left a really good impression me as a cycling fan. Additionally, him saying that he's not interested in Chelsea because of profits, but rather because he wants to build a strong London club is really encouraging. Although it's probably too late, I really do hope he ends up being our new owner.

4.) 01 May 2022 18:00:46
Sir Jim seems to be the perfect owner for us
I hope he gets it done.

5.) 02 May 2022 15:57:14
Can we start a petition for sir jim ratcliffe.

That's who I want.

6.) 02 May 2022 18:23:10
Ed002, any thoughts on the other three bidders?

{Ed002's Note - There are not another three bidders anymore.}

7.) 03 May 2022 15:33:43
Thanks for all of the info Ed, do you know when the final decision is likely to be made?

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I imagine that the owner has a pretty good idea already.}

8.) 03 May 2022 15:39:18
Thanks.

26 Apr 2022 06:43:32
Hello Ed. Can I ask about interest in some of Chelsea's players?
Specifically, I would like to ask about the interest in our wingers?

EmilSC

{Ed002's Note - I am trying to avoid providing too much information to the Chelsea page but there is interest in some of the wingers and that is largely unchanged from what I have previously explained. As such you should be able to search.}

1.) 26 Apr 2022 10:40:30
Ok, thanks a lot for your reply! Mostly, I was just looking to find out if anything had changed, so I am quite happy with your answer. Have a great day!

31 Mar 2022 13:48:32
Hi Ed02.
I saw on the Arsenal page that Lautaro is on the list of strikers we're interested in adding.
I would like to ask two thing: Are you willing to share which other strikers we're interested in, and does the club plan to integrate Broja in the squad next season?
Have a nice day!

EmilSC

{Ed002's Note - It is futile me sharing anything as you know.}

1.) 31 Mar 2022 16:42:24
Sorry, I was probably a bit optimistic. Fully understand it - and still wish you a nice day. I'm halfway through my master thesis, and it's a very nice feeling to be well underway - so I've had a great day :)

2.) 31 Mar 2022 22:53:02
Good to hear you're progressing on your thesis, Emil. I have to get mine done by end of May and am currently at a grand total of 2 pages written. I'm in trouble.

{Ed002's Note - good luck to both of you - what subjects are you studying.}

3.) 01 Apr 2022 07:23:30
Oh no, Jackson : ( You'll get there!
I'm studying law!

4.) 01 Apr 2022 07:30:43
I'm (hopefully) finishing up my master's degree in actuarial and financial engineering. Normally shouldn't be a problem, but I started this master's while working fulltime as well, and it's now my 3rd year combining the two. I've noticed this year that my motivation to work on the thesis is at an all-time low, so got to power through over these next months so I can put it behind me.

Thank you, Ed! And good luck to you in your endeavours as well! :)

5.) 01 Apr 2022 08:46:39
I used to very much dislike the law courses I had to study. Smarter man than I am :)

Good luck, Emil!

6.) 01 Apr 2022 09:31:50
I don't know about the smarter man part, everyone has their own weird interests ;)
Sure does sound tough working full time while writing your thesis! I got offered a job opportunity in Finland, but said no, because of time being too much of an issue if I left haha. Best of luck to you too - we'll make it through, and perhaps cheer over a beer on this page when we're done!

7.) 02 Apr 2022 10:02:56
Good luck Chaps with your exams.

8.) 02 Apr 2022 13:47:04
Glad I'm not the only one struggling with thesis writing right now. But good luck guys, I'm sure we'll all finish in time.

9.) 02 Apr 2022 17:20:19
Of course KTBFFH, it's over soon! Good luck to you too!

10.) 02 Apr 2022 20:33:17
I can see a budding university challenge team on the horizon.

Or, maybe a pub quiz team!

Good luck with your work lads. Hope you all have successful careers to look forward to.

23 Jan 2022 17:52:31
While this lovely game is being played, I figured I would take the chance and ask Ed02 a question that I've been thinking about for some time. Is the club still looking to add a director of football, as they seemed to be a few years ago? Or are they happy with Marina's role and the role of Petr Cech?
I understand if you are not willing to answer, in which case I apologize for wasting your time.

EmilSC

{Ed002's Note - The club will look to add a Director of Football but will not do so for the sake of it. It is unrealted to MG and PC but the three approached want to stay at arms length.}

1.) 24 Jan 2022 15:32:16
Thanks a lot for the reply, Ed. Makes sense to not acquire people for the sake of it, regardless of whether it's staff for the pitch or behind the scenes.

2.) 25 Jan 2022 14:22:25
I'm not sure about the fit, but maybe if we get him, we might see a change of formation to a back 4.
I'd love to have Kounde alongside Silva.
I think another RWB/ RB and LB/ LWB is badly needed for next season. We might see a complete overhaul in defence and probably in midfield.

12 Nov 2021 09:45:31
This is a copy paste of what Ed wrote on the Man U page:
"Franck Kessié (CM) Efforts are being made to secure a new contract, but the issue is over the wages continues with Milan struggling. Could potentially be sold but I expect agreement to be reached eventually else there will be a lot of interest with Juventus looking to meet his demands. Interest of Mr Mourinho at Spurs and now Roma remains. Spurs also want him as an Ndombele replacement but the player remains keen to move to Chelsea to eventually replace Kante - but Chelsea turned down the offer from his agent initially although a proposal is on the table that would suit both clubs and the player. Conte may press Spurs to add him. His agent has also approached Manchester United and PSG but both sides would need to move a player on in order to add Kessie - but both are interested. An option may exist with Barcelona considering a deal for Kessie that will involve Umtiti. His agent has also spoken with Liverpool and Leicester who may be interested in agreeing a pre-contract in January but both have preferred targets"

How would we feel about this? I've for some reason always felt like Kessie would join us at some point, but I don't know if I think we need him now. Would be nice if N'Golo was to leave, but I hope that day isn't coming too soon, even though he's injured quite often.

EmilSC

1.) 12 Nov 2021 10:07:48
I assume you mean it “wouldn’t” be nice Emil.

Could be Jorginho going back to Italy. Who knows!

2.) 12 Nov 2021 11:10:32
Chelsea simply can't rely on Kante's availability anymore. He's our best player when fit, and is as close to irreplaceable as it comes.

Kessie is a good player. But Chelsea already have a player contracted to the club, who has been the best box to box midfielder in the Premier League this season. Like I say K.

3.) 12 Nov 2021 14:29:04
My response to Kessie would be: thank but no thanks.

We have better options in our team and there are better options available on the market.

4.) 12 Nov 2021 14:55:44
I wouldn't mind kassie to play with kante instead. on the contrary in nit so keen like some to see the back of kante now or in the immediate future. both of them can play at a time. kassie trikes me me like esien esqe. If the board chose him. i won't be surprised .
Meanwhile kantes injury not as many are making it look just because their anointed player will be looked at to replace him. ruben has been injured for qàlmost his time with first team bua still remains and get game time . and interestingly you want a power House like kante out because injury thaty still let him play through the definngy moments if the season. Fans!

5.) 13 Nov 2021 10:03:17
Kante has been our best player over recent seasons using a term widely over used -world class. I don’t think we have a player in our squad who can do what he does, so we may have to look elsewhere. I haven’t seen enough of the various players mentioned by the media but I’m sure the club are on it.

I would like to ask people's opinion on what's gone so wrong with Lukaku. He seemed just fine when he got here, and also had a decent period just before that infamous interview. Is he not good enough? Does Tuchel not use him correctly?
I honestly haven't gotten a clue. Maybe he could've been used differently and in a better way, but I still think he has been playing too poorly and anonymously.
Would love to hear your thoughts on the matter, Ed01 or Ed02 (if not both, but I don't think both of you can comment at once :) )

EmilSC

1.) 04 May 2022 22:32:44
TT if conte is there it’s a different ball game you pay 80million you play to his strengths.

2.) 05 May 2022 09:56:46
I just assumed when we signed him we would play to his strengths but we haven’t for some reason.

Just an observation, teams like us, City and Liverpool often find themselves up against the so called low block. Two of those teams don’t have a Lukaku type player in their squads.

3.) 05 May 2022 15:56:40
He did well at Inter running onto forward passes in the 'inside right' or 'inside left'.

Chelsea play with an extra three rather than two players behind Lukaku so these spaces are filled.

To make space chelsea need to transition more quickly and make forward passes before gaps are closed up. Our midfield doesn't really do this.

It makes sense in our system to press high. This needs a very mobile forward, which RL is not at this time. He's quick in a straight line, but not mobile as a pressing player.

Might be tosh, but that's as I see it.

4.) 05 May 2022 16:28:44
Good analysis Nath.

Begs the question why did we buy him and not play to his strengths?

5.) 06 May 2022 14:31:30
I agree Ton.

20 Feb 2022 15:49:06
Ed01 - you seem to have an amazing eye on football, so I would like to ask you what you think we can change to start playing better? The last 3 months we have played poorly for the majority of the time. The only exceptions I can think of are maybe our games against Spurs.

EmilSC

{Ed001's Note - there is not a lot that needs to change, for starters you need a manager whose first thought is how to win, rather than how not to lose. Secondly, that head coach would train the players to defend further up the pitch and, when you have the ball, would work on the players movement.

The final thing would be to dump Lukaku out of the team, he is lazy and uninterested unless he gets what he wants. The guy has not even bothered to fix his horror show of a first touch, which shows he does not put enough effort in on the training pitch to work on his clear weakness. When Nedved was told his weaker foot needed work, he used to stay back after training each day to work on it until it got to the point where it became his stronger foot for a while. Do you see any sign Lukaku has that kind of attitude? For me a player costing that obscene amount should be killing themselves on the training ground to improve. He doesn't even make runs when he points the way he wants the ball. If you make the run and the ball doesn't come, then you can complain, but he just whines and throws his arms up when he is not offering a single thing to the team. If he doesn't make runs, he is not making the defenders work, he isn't moving them around and creating space for others, but he clearly doesn't care about the team, just himself. So get a player in there who will make runs and create space, probably Havertz imo.

If you are then defending 5 yards further up the pitch and have a forward making runs, you then push the opposition forwards and midfield deeper and the runs will be moving the defence around too. You are then closer to the opponent's goal, with gaps to exploit. You already have the players, they are just in the wrong areas at the moment. A player such as Werner might not score that many, but he is brilliant at working the opposition, giving them problems and creating gaps for others. I know he needs to be more clinical, but it is a team game and there are others that can use those gaps to get into spaces to score, such as Mount. That is his main strength for me, that ability to get into a position to have a shot. At the moment he is not able to get any space because there is no movement ahead of him and consequently no space to get into.}

1.) 20 Feb 2022 18:10:03
Ed, thanks as always for your views.

I keep asking the question, didn’t the scouts and club not know what sort of player Lukaku was and is?

It’s all very bizzare to me!

{Ed001's Note - they knew him well, I don't understand what the thinking was in bringing him back. It does seem Chelsea really struggle to buy the right forward for the team they have under Roman. It is really bizarre how many times you have spent huge sums for the time and ended up with a striker worse than the ones already at the club.}

2.) 20 Feb 2022 18:28:51
Also Ed, playing to his strengths was always going to require a huge change of our playing style in my opinion.

Bordering on madness.

{Ed001's Note - agreed.}

3.) 20 Feb 2022 19:03:50
Ed, Tom exactly, having to play to Lukaku’s style is leaving us toothless up front. Why on earth we bought him leaves me confused: was it panic? As I said in a previous post if it is a choice between Werner and Lukaku going, no contest, Werner stays, I still believe he can score goals but it looks like TT is giving up on him. Some posters are crying out for Jorginho to go but at least he does his job. For me Lukaku is first out of the door. The only reason he came here was for the money: that unfinished business stuff is BS.

{Ed001's Note - he is certainly not playing like someone with unfinished business!}

4.) 20 Feb 2022 19:20:37
Good insight as usual, can I ask they type or example of striker we need because like you’ve pointed out it’s a reoccurring problem, werner who is quick and stretches seems the type but he himself
Isn’t as clinical, we’ve had the big target man in giroud and then lukaku who at inter was arriving in the box and finishing and using his strength, there’s Players like isak who work hard just never seem
In control of the ball, Broja is still very young. Martinez of inter who I’d imagine would be warned off from lukaku, shick of Leverkusen looked good in euros not sure how his doing in bundesliga or if his level we need. Who would your realistic option / profile be,

{Ed001's Note - for me you should have given Broja a chance this season. You have plenty of experience around him, so there should have been no reason to worry about that. Next season has to be his time, but imo it is a season too late.}

5.) 20 Feb 2022 20:24:49
A season to late ed001 cos he’ll want a move elsewhere permanently?

6.) 20 Feb 2022 20:55:12
Fuser, Broja signed an extension until 2025 just last summer. If the club want to keep him, they can and should.

On Ed001's comments, I tend to agree. He probably wasn't the right guy to bring in. Recruitment at Chelsea has been well below par for a few years now. Lukaku doesn't look a good fit with Tuchel at all, and the club elected to get Saul in on loan when Tchouameni was available for probably around 40 mio. Now if the club want to buy Tchouameni this coming summer, his price might've doubled and there will be serious competition for his signature. It's highly likely he doesn't join Chelsea now.

Couple that to Chelsea selling Guehi, Tomori and Zouma, just a year before the contracts of Rudiger, Christensen and Azpi expire, and it all combines into 1 horrific transfer window.

Lukaku should probably be moved on as soon as possible, but it's hard to see which club would buy him right now. Ivan Toney would've been an ideal fit for this team in my opinion, as he's excellent at dropping a bit deeper, holding the bal up and bringing his teammates into play. Bringing Broja back would provide the club with an outstanding mix of attacking skillsets between Toney and Broja. Broja is a demon in transition play, Toney excellent at working a defense and being a target in the box.

Just getting the biggest names doesn't work. You need a good fit for your team. Our attacking options need improvement. Werner doesn't seem to be used much by Tuchel and Pulisic will only have 2 years left on his contract this summer. If you replace Werner, Pulisic and Lukaku with Broja (already Chelsea's), Dembele (on a free, should certainly be possible) and Toney (his stock isn't at its highest due to him not having scored much at Brentford, so again should be attainable), you'd significantly improve the quality without having to spend overly much (when taking a simplistic fees in vs fees out view) .

And while Lukaku gets a lot of criticism (and rightly so), it shouldn't be ignored that Havertz has underperformed a lot and doesn't seem to have improved at all in his almost 2 seasons at the club. Massive improvement is needed from him as well.

7.) 20 Feb 2022 21:07:15
Before we loaned him to the saint’s I’m sure he signed a new contract (5 years I think) so I don’t see him permanently moving anytime soon.

8.) 20 Feb 2022 21:15:24
Ed is right should have given Broja as chance this season even if it didn’t work out perfectly we would be better without Lukaku. As for Broja his mother has been on social media saying he doesn’t want to sit on the bench: so we’re f**ked. Next season keep Timo and let’s not worry about a centre forward and get more goals from midfield. The No 9 shirt is cursed.

9.) 20 Feb 2022 21:30:48
Jackson, you raise a good point and question.

Who has improved in our squad?

Kepa…. yes.
Rudiger……yes.
Ziyech…. moving in the right direction.

James and Chilly were always good in my opinion and Silva has always been class.

10.) 20 Feb 2022 22:23:29
Jackson, the reality is that Chelsea’s model with academy players is to loan and develop, keep some and sell others. There was no room to keep, Guehi, Tomori and Zouma. Tomori was frozen out by Frank, I was never keen on Zouma too slow and cumbersome and thankfully we got rid before his recent bad publicity. Toney is a Championship player playing in the Premier League for now. TBH, I have no idea who makes the decisions about who to buy and who to sell, whoever it is needs to buck up their ideas. As for Broja he has great potential but if he starts acting like Abraham, he too will be shown the door and if he can find a better club than Chelsea, good luck to him. We also need to reflect on the lack of cover for James and Chilwell, even if they both return firing on all cylinders there is a clear need for quality cover which has caused us to play players out of position and unbalance the formation.

11.) 21 Feb 2022 08:06:34
I know the idea is to loan, and then sell with some of them staying. And I have little issue with that if the guys we bring in with the money of their sales are actual improvements. But lately that hasn't been the case.

People say the academy kids can't all make it, and that's true. But people also drastically underrate the quality of the players produced at Cobham. Our brightest prospects in recent years have taken to adult football like a duck to water. Livramento straight from academy football to starting in PL and turning heads. Broja immediately having a promising season in Holland, and then goes straight to burning past players like Maguire, Varane, Konate etc. in PL. Gallagher thrown into multiple teams with different playing styles and being a key starter in all of them. Gilmour playing Pool's midfield off the park in his FA Cup debut for Chelsea. Colwill at 18 years old getting rave reviews in the Championship. Guehi already being one of the best CBs in PL at the ripe old age of 21. I almost forgot Lamptey as well as Maatsen.

Their quality is undeniable. And I'm not saying we should've kept Guehi, Tomori and Zouma. Selling 1 or even 2 of them is fine I suppose. But when you end up with only 1 or 2 first team CBs with a contract running past 2022, then it doesn't scream "good planning" when you sell all 3 of them.
Another example is Kenedy, who quite clearly has no future at Chelsea, making the squad over Vale (who was denied a loan supposedly because Tuchel wanted to use him in the 2nd half of the season) . Vale is one of our most talented attacking prospects to come of Cobham in recent years, and his contract runs out in summer 2023. He should've gotten a loan, but even if you make him stay he should then be in the squad over someone like Kenedy who, while a bit more experienced, should not be in the squad going forward. The little things matter, and this is no way to convince a young talent like Vale to sign an extension. Quite the opposite in fact.

And on Toney, I know most will feel this way. But he's an absolutely top striker. The kind of players whose influence stretches much beyond mere goals and assists. He'd fit our team like a glove in my opinion. And as I said, and you demonstrated, his stock is not very high currently due to a lack of goals. However, Brentford don't manage to get him the ball in the box, he's their best playmaker so the one that manages to create chances for others. But stats won't show that.

12.) 21 Feb 2022 08:14:43
I agree with everything you’ve put Ed. I can’t see us dumping Lukaku though. I’d like to see us go more attacking with either 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 with either Havertz or Broja up top. At least then we’re more of a team and with Ziyech being much better he has nailed down one of the forward positions. For me it’s just getting a left winger now who can score or create like Son or Mane do. Diaz was perfect proper gutted we missed out on him. If we can sign Rice or Tchouameni and go into next season with one of them holding with Kovacic and Mount either side we’d finally have a proper balanced midfield then. Kante will be used sparingly now he gets older to manage injuries but great as rotation. Kovacic is unstoppable and he’s turned into one of the best midfielders in the league.

13.) 21 Feb 2022 08:15:21
Thanks a lot for your very detailed reply, Ed.
We played some of the best football in the world using Werner in the end of last season, and I find it very surprising - to say the least - that he's not being used right now. I know he's suffered from injuries etc., but I do not see how he doesn't offer more to the team. :)

{Ed001's Note - you are very welcome. I also find it odd, he may not have scored many, but he created so much and made the team better imo.}

14.) 21 Feb 2022 12:19:59
I’m not a fan anymore but I will be surprised and disappointed if he doesn’t start against The Scousers.

15.) 21 Feb 2022 15:53:24
Thanks for the great read Ed.

I think many of us Chelsea fans had serious reservations about bringing Lukaku back, especially for the huge sum we payed.

I generally agree about giving our youth a chance, especially when we have a guy like Broja.
If we kept Tammy and used Werner and Broja, we would have had a great and versatile forward trio. We could have also invested that money into buying a couple of defenders and midfielders.

So Ed, what do you think Chelsea should do in order to get back to seriously contending for the league title? Do you think we should change our midfield structure and after that our formation?

{Ed001's Note - all you need is to be more attacking and have more faith in the younger players coming through. If you had Gallagher in midfield and Broja up front while going st teams, I truly believe it would have been a three-way battle at the top.}

16.) 21 Feb 2022 22:54:14
Thank you Ed001, God bless you for speaking the truth, the earlier we start dropping Lukaku to the bench, the better for us this season, unless the club wants him (Lukaku) played at all costs (whether he’s playing well or not) .

{Ed001's Note - I doubt Roman would ever allow that to happen.}

17.) 21 Feb 2022 23:06:17
I have seen no evidence of the owner interfering in team selection.

I would be very disappointed if it ever happened.

18.) 22 Feb 2022 01:08:31
Jackson, he may have signed a new contract before going on loan but we all know a) chelsea never stands in the way of players wanting to leave and b) contracts mean nothing (there’s been a few players in recent history who have signed a new contract and been sold within in a few months) . I was just enquiring to ed001 why it was too late, whether he had info of Broja wanting to leave or maybe us now having too many ST for Broja wanting to compete etc.

19.) 22 Feb 2022 16:51:53
Jackson, you’re right Kennedy doesn’t have a future at Chelsea but he was brought back as cover for left wingback, Vale is a midfielder we have plenty of options in that area. As you say we have and have had some good prospects but you won’t win anything playing a team of prospects. As I said before Liveramento was never going to be happy as Reece’s understudy and Lamptey isn’t setting the world alight. I would hope to see Broja and Gallagher in the first team squad next season. BG has gone backwards and needs another loan. As for Vale, Colwill and Maatsen, I don’t think I’ve ever seen them play so I have to take your word about how good they are.

31 Dec 2021 11:51:43
Here we go. More Lukaku quotes, lovely. Honestly don't know how I think Tuchel should react to this. Can we afford putting him on the bench? IDK.

EmilSC

1.) 31 Dec 2021 12:09:27
No, and now there’s articles saying lukaku won’t force a move and chelsea won’t sell him, completely over the top and all very fast, but like tuchel said it brings noise we don’t need now.

2.) 31 Dec 2021 12:26:01
Only what I’ve been thinking we pay all that money for a striker and don’t play to his strength and even worse had terrible results due to it. I agree with Rom maybe should of said it to TT first but I don’t blame him, if your unhappy say so.

TT has also said he will talk to Lukaku face to face behind closed doors and that’s the way it should be dealt with.

My guess is Lukaku will come out very soon saying his quote has been misunderstood.

What should we expect of this Ralf Rangnick fella going to Manchester United?
I have never followed the Bundesliga too closely, but when you read what people write about him online, he sure does sound like the second coming of Messiah.
Ed01 you also have very well-founded knowledge and in general good takes on both players and managers. Can I ask you what you think of him and how you think he'll do at Manchester United?

EmilSC

{Ed001's Note - he is the one that Klopp and Tuchel et all followed after. He set up the RB style of play, so you can expect a high press and quick counters. As a manager he will steady the ship, but it is after that when he can have the most impact. He could transform their fortunes if they listen to his advice and take it on board.}

Well in that case I will be egoistic and hope that they do not listen! ;)
Thanks for answering!

{Ed001's Note - I think we are all joined in a universal condemnation of Watford's selfishness, getting a leg end like Ole the sack when he was doing such a good job...}

Interesting piece from Ed on the Liverpool page:
Denis Zakaria (DM) Free Agent who has been of interest to Manchester City, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United and Juventus although many have preferred options. Roma and Inter also offer an opportunity for him to move to Italy but seem less likely destinations. I would not rule out a move to Dortmund to replace Witsel. Juventus interest is based on their preferred target Tchouameni opting to move to England.

Maybe we will get him?

Tchoumeni or Zakaria, hopefully tchoumeni’s preferred destination is Chelsea, would be nice,

Yea Matt.

If I am not mistaken, we are not allowed to talk with other clubs right now? So I do not see how the club should've been able to negotiate with Sevilla if that is the case. I might be wrong, though!

Ed, does that then mean that the club would no longer consider selling Pulisic? :)

EmilSC

{Ed002's Note - Of course not. It is becoming a complete joke again.}

Anyways, if Ed is not willing to, let's not try to argue against that. That he's willing to give snips every once in a while is better than nothing, so let's just appreciate what we've got!

I remember 5 or 6 years ago, where Ed had to completely leave the page for a while. Things could be much, much worse.

On a side not, wow I feel old, having browsed this page for maybe 7 or 8 years. Feels like yesterday that I found this shady-looking page!
Have a nice day, everyone! :)

I see where you're coming from, Bill, but in the end, would it not be most fair for the fans if the ideal owner is chosen? The way Roman has led the club, I trust no one more than him to make that decision.
Sure, it may be unfair for the other bidders, but if you're not the best candidate in life, for whatever it may be, you can never be too dissatisfied about not being chosen.
I am not one to judge who is the best bidder, but Ed02 sure is a better judge than me, and with all due respect, I also believe that he's a better judge than you! :)

To me, it was always puzzling why we didn't use Tomori more. Not the best take in hindsight, but to me, he was performing much better than the likes of Rudiger and AC, but somehow got droppen halfway through the season. Of course I know nothing about how he performed in training etc., but to me, he was much better than many of our players, and to me it seemed like he and Frank had an issue.

The talent was always there, and it's lovely to see him flourish now. One can only hope that we might get to see him back in blue at the Bridge in the future.
Ed02 do we have any sort or buy back-option, or something like that? I am unsure of the terminology to use, but hopefully you understand what I'm asking (and no, I am not asking the color of Queen Magrethe II of Denmark's underwear, should you think so - but maybe you even have the answer to that? If so, feel free to answer that as well! )

EmilSC

{Ed002's Note - No Chelsea do not have a "bay back" option.}

Jimbo did you even watch the shootout? Mendy touched the ball twice other than his save. To say that he was nowhere near saving them, is just straight up wrong.

Agree with you, Tom. In my opinion, Jorgi had a really fine game, and had every right to play. I honestly do not expect what else you expect from a central midfielder? Our team was extremely offensive at times, and in those situations we're much better off balancing it with Jorginho that by putting Ross Barkley or similar on.
