Team: Chelsea

Where from: Denmark

Favourite player: Drogba

Best team moment: Obviously, the Champions League victory ranks as number one, which it probably does with everyone else. A more unique favourite moment was when Fabregas produced THAT amazing assist to Andre Schurrle. At that moment you knew that team would become very, very special.

Ed has written the following on the Everton page a few days ago. Wanted to share, as I found it a bit interesting :)
Boubacar Kamara (CB) Marseille do not want to sell and interest from PSG will go nowhere. Chelsea and Manchester City both maintain an interest. An unusual offer has been made but Chelsea will likely resist a move this summer as they have other priorities. Manchester City have been in regular contact with Marseille and may well look for an early conclusion. MIlan and Lyon will likely not have the funds to make an offer. Unless something significant changes he will spend next season in Marseille as a Marseille owned player. Everton has made an approach to Marseille to request an idea of price but have been told that he is not for sale regardless of the ongoing talks with Manchester City. An offer of around €35M may well make them think again - that is too much for Everton.

Hi Ed. I was wondering if you would perhaps shine a light on Barkley and the plan's we've got for him? In my opinion he isn't good enough for us, seems too unprofessional and with RLC coming back and Gallagher perhaps getting a chance next season, I can't see the reason in him staying - at least after the summer.
So yeah, just wondering if you can tell anything about our plans with him? :)

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any "plans" being in place with respect to Ross Barkley but there have been two recent incidents that are completely unprofessional, and that is something the club take very seriously. When he arrived at Chelsea he came with the reputation of being a bonehead and someone took responsibility for making sure that was in the past - and until recently he has behaved reasonably well. That situation has now changed and, as you say, with others (including Gallagher and Loftus-Cheek) who will be looking for a chance next season his opportunities may well be reducing and Chelsea will listen to any offers.}

1.) 01 Dec 2019 18:38:39
Thanks Ed2. Brilliant insight.

2.) 01 Dec 2019 20:07:11
Yeah thanks a lot!

3.) 01 Dec 2019 20:11:44
It’s always a shame and it certainly frustrates other players and fans who haven’t got his sort talent. It’s such a waist. I hope he can turn it around.

4.) 01 Dec 2019 23:05:25
He's going to look back on his career with so much regret. He could have been special. A top prospect who hasn't even scraped the barrel of what he could have offered.

5.) 01 Dec 2019 23:31:39
Good question emill took a punt on him not sure it's worked out shamne really
And if someone else had taken that pen.

24 May 2018 17:02:42
Poch has just signed an extension. Guess he was never really an option, but no doubt he'd been an excellent choice. Really hope clearance is provided soon!

18 May 2018 11:46:56
Could any of you Eds perhaps shed a light on what happened Wednesday night in regards to Chelsea's managerial situation? Would be highly appreciated!

{Ed001's Note - no sorry, I don't know.}

1.) 18 May 2018 16:04:00
Fair, one cannot know everything ;)

{Ed001's Note - sadly no. I wish I could though!}

2.) 18 May 2018 20:03:47
Apparently it could seriously be Poch to Chelsea. I'd be very surprised and confused though.

3.) 19 May 2018 09:59:29
Where did you hear the from Jackson?

4.) 19 May 2018 19:11:55
Apparently some guy claims it on twitter. Probably not true, but it's strange that it's even being touted as a possibility.

10 Mar 2018 18:22:22
We definately need to start Zappa against Barca! Always gives his all, and quite a threat offensively, too!

1.) 11 Mar 2018 09:25:22
agree . I prefer him too. not as physically strong but for me can offer more. more games he plays the more consistent and better he will get.

Hi guys.
As I myself don't have much time to look at our youth teams, I was wondering - are there any players that you think are likely to be the next ones to play consistently for our first team?
I know of the players that are currently in our squad, but for instance players like that one guy, Dortmund are interested in - cannot remember his name right - must be good.
So in general, if any eds or just regular posters would like to say any players, that you think are likely to make the jump soon, I would love to hear that! :)

1.) 07 Apr 2021 09:37:25
The player Dortmund are interested in is Charlie Webster. He has just turned 17 and apparently has some form of contract with us until 2023.

He looks like a special talent. Very quick and direct. Obviously young lads don’t always realise that talent but as things stand, I think we would be mad to let him go but I guess it could end up being out of our control.

2.) 07 Apr 2021 10:09:43
I'm not sure if they may get a chance next season but there are a few youth players who may have the ability at some point in future to play for first team. Lewis bate, Valentino Livramento, Jude Soonsup-bell (still young tho) and Levi Colwill. Obviously there's always a chance they may not make it and there are a few others you could mention too like mceahran and fiabema.

3.) 07 Apr 2021 10:25:31
If it meant getting haaland give them the whole youth team wouldn't bother me.

4.) 07 Apr 2021 10:59:20
Haaland would be my second choice (sorry Ed001). For his age he looks like a proper beast and with a good first touch.

I guess the only problem I might have would be a concern about his progress. He is also very young and might not progress as expected. This is just one of the issues any buying club would have. Will clubs be prepared to take these risks for the fee being mentioned.

Generally, as fans, we don’t care about the fee.

I would definitely try to keep CW and many of the youngsters mentioned by Mc93 but as I’ve already mentioned these things are not always in our control.

5.) 07 Apr 2021 11:18:50
There never in our control Tom.

6.) 07 Apr 2021 11:23:33
We certainly have a record of not keeping unhappy players.

7.) 07 Apr 2021 11:48:25
True I agree when you said he looks a proper beast lol.

8.) 07 Apr 2021 18:48:07
In all fairness Tom how much more do you want him to progress even if he stays has he is right now the guy is deadly he has a fierce shot and he isn’t afraid to have a go he makes the right runs his decision making is impeccable if he improves any more he will be among the top 5 players in world football for me he is by far the best option we could get him has he is now would gurantee you 20+ goals a season he also performs in Europe and internationally for a team that isn’t all that he still finds the net I honestly believe he would suit us down to the ground but I don’t see it happening.

9.) 07 Apr 2021 19:41:37
If we sign him I want him to carry on improving.

If he signs for any other team I hope he stagnates and we never see him again.

As I always say Lampsy. I am naturally biased.

10.) 07 Apr 2021 20:11:27
Thanks for your replies! :)

Everyone's saying it now. Frank's time here is over. Just like the rest of you, I've been sad and angry over results since some time in November I think, where our level really started to drop down. The last few weeks, I was neither an advocate of Frank in or out, but I would certainly not be sad if he were to leave. Or so I thought. Damn it hurts. It is what it is, however. Now time to move forward.
It will be exciting to see who we bring in. Some German guy to help fix Havertz and Werner it would seem?
Any information you're willing or able to share, Ed02? I guess you'll be bombarded with questions, but I might as well ask!

{Ed002's Note - It is being dealt with this morning.}

When's the last time this site has been this active? If only we had so much to discuss whenever things were going great! :)
I myself haven't been on this site too much lately, as I've been busy with my studies, but will try to post more here during our good times!

1.) 30 Dec 2020 10:02:17
Good for you Emil and good luck with your studies.

2.) 30 Dec 2020 11:22:26
This is not a season to be looking at the league table. It is by doing that, that fans panic and start shouting for sackings and replacements. Just watch the team on the pitch, measure their desire and application, then the tactics, technicals and talent of the individuals. Chelsea should have won the Villa game, imo two good chances were spurned Pulisic in the first half, and Werner at 1-1. I got the impression that had Chelsea went 2-0 they would have scored more. When I read the December fixtures I knew they were ill fated, murky Goodison, unfriendly Wolves, the KO times of both the Spurs and Arsenal games were terrible imo, I can’t look at Mourinho anymore, but that is a debate for another day. Even the Leeds KO time had me concerned. I want Lamps to stay even if they don’t hold onto a top 4 slot. I can’t wait to get out of December and into 2021 and get behind the team. Chelsea will not lose to City, hopefully they will win the game, and and imo they will win their other fixtures in January. I expect Havertz to pick up in the second half of the season, I do have some concerns around Werner, Tammy will score v the teams 8th and below, plenary to look forward to.

3.) 30 Dec 2020 12:05:52
Great post Stephen. I'm with you.

4.) 30 Dec 2020 12:39:28
Good post Stephen, and i enjoyed the bit about the december fixtures and though my. memory not what it was i remember being at some pretty dreadful and dull games in December and january in recent seasons under Sarri, Conte and Mourinho second spell - ie pre FL - at the Bridge!

5.) 30 Dec 2020 13:02:48
Fantastic post Stephen.

6.) 30 Dec 2020 15:44:10
100% Stephen.

7.) 30 Dec 2020 17:09:18
Sorry to seem so negative but ignore the league table, what’s the positives from only beating one team in top half, the wolves Everton arsenal villa saints West Brom
Games, the score line / points was a positive v West Ham even though performance wasn’t? Not looking like scoring v Liverpool spurs man United, confidence low, we saw that when villa scored heads dropped,

8.) 30 Dec 2020 18:12:51
Certainly no need to apologise Matt.

I can’t imagine there is a single poster or fan who has been happy with our recent run of results.

Confidence can easily drain away but it can just as easily be restored.

Sometimes it can just be a bit of luck that can turn things around or maybe a refereeing decision.

9.) 30 Dec 2020 19:15:34
Good measured post Tom, and so correct.

10.) 31 Dec 2020 04:34:47
I wished you all had such solidarity and patience for the good coaches that were sacked in the past even with little backing. I still struggle to understand what luck means here but Frank need a tremendous turnaround in fortune else he may not be in charge come May. The basics are lacking and it's beginning to take tolls on the players. There are certain level of loss of confidence that will take many years, if at all, to fully recover from like Torres, etc. Loss of confidence ties your mind with fear and confusion that you can't anything with ease . We're not arsenal and may not be patient with our own Arteta, with all due respect to the gunners. Results matter especially after signing players of choice for huge fees. So Frank must get his acts together.

Hi Ed.
I was wondering if you'd be willing to share if Chelsea are interested in Ahmedhodzic of Malmö? He has history in Danish football and I would be really surprised if the move were to happen! :)
I understand, however, if you still do not wish to discuss the defence yet. If that's the case I'm sorry for wasting your time, and you can feel free to just delete the post!

{Ed002's Note - I am no longer discussing the defence or provided anything but the most minimal of information.}

1.) 02 Nov 2020 16:43:10
Okay, I respect that. And perhaps I should have guessed that was still the case, still I just got a bit too curious. Cheers anyways! :)

04 Oct 2020 11:13:30
I know Ed02 doesn't answer questions about the defence, which I respect.
I am therefore just asking the rest of you guys, if anyone else is a bit worried why Sarr hasn't been loaned out yet? It's been quite some time since we signed him now, and he could've spent some valuable time with a new team during the start of the season.
I'm sure that the club knows what it's doing and that he'll find a club, I just find it a bit odd that it hasn't happened yet.
It'll be exciting to see what happens during the final hours of the window. We can sit down and relax for once, as we've already had an extraordinary window. Perhaps we'll get another treat, perhaps we won't - lots of reasons to be ecstatic nonetheless :)

1.) 04 Oct 2020 12:16:49
Maybe they want to take the opportunity to work with him and assess him for a bit before sending him out.

Maybe if Tomori goes on loaned and Rudiger is sold Sarr will remain as part of the first team.

I will try to ask, since it cannot hurt. Would Atletico then consider letting Oblak leave for less than his release clause? If we're still looking for a keeper, there's no-one better than him, IMO at least.

Wasn't he also released from Bertha not too long ago? Not a good look to get released two times within a not too long timespan. Perhaps the end of his career?

I agree with what's been said. Another thing about Tammy that bothers me is that he very rarely seems to do any actual work off the ball. I cannot remember the game, I think it might have been Bayern last season, but I can recall a situation in which Tammy lost the ball, throwed his arms out to the side and basically stood still, which led to the opponent scoring. This was after Tammy was subbed on. Once again, unfortunate that I can't recall the exact game, but I still don't think it's an unusual sight with Tammy.

Seems like Kante is always unlucky on these international duties. What a shame.
