Hearing Tomori on loan to Fulham for next season, would rather he stayed but would be great experience for him.

1.) 11 Aug 2020 21:22:44
I rate the lad very highly but as I said in a previous post, I think a Premiership loan would be good for him.

2.) 11 Aug 2020 21:24:45
Haven’t read that anywhere but I hope not. Christensen and Rudiger should be first ones out.

3.) 11 Aug 2020 21:41:05
As long as they don’t sell him.

If one of the other three then get sold I guess that would mean we would sign two CH’s with Ampadu also likely to be going out on loan.

Anyway, all rumours at the moment.

Some truly woeful defending tonight and some that looked defeated before we began. In all honesty not sure many would have said beating them by 3 or 4 was ever going to happen. Hoping for some organisation at the back because currently we are far too easy to beat...can't keep relying on Pulisic to bail us out. Come on the Chels

What we thinking tomorrow then? Desperate for Frank to get a result, don't really care how we play or whether we deserve it! Hoping Tammy starts and proves the idiots wrong, would like to see Mount start too. Loving Emerson at LB, hopeful that James will get his chance when he's fit. Come on The Chels.

Spizzy23

1.) 17 Aug 2019 21:08:01
Yep, I agree, Mounts a baller and Tammy has the abilty just needs to prove himself. I’d play
Kepa
Emerson Christensen Tomori Azpi
Kante Jorginho
Pulisic Mount Pedro
Tammy

Can’t wait for the game
COYB!

2.) 17 Aug 2019 21:17:35
Rumours are Willian and Rudiger are nearly there, wouldn't be surprised if Willian plays in a 3 with Pulisic and Pedro behind Giroud. As an aside. has Michy even made the bench this season?

3.) 17 Aug 2019 21:31:45
Above all we just need a win. I’m not too bothered who plays but I don’t think Tammy will start, Giroud certainly deserves to. Leicester are a good side so Lamps first win being at the bridge against them would be huge.

4.) 17 Aug 2019 23:15:30
This is one of the hardest games in recent memory to pick the team, simply considering we played 120 minutes on Wednesday and it’s still early in the year.

5.) 17 Aug 2019 23:24:17
Kepa
Emerson christensen rudiger Azpilicueta
Kante kovecic Mount
Willian Tammy Pulisic.

6.) 18 Aug 2019 10:29:58
Kepa
Emerson, Zouma, Rudiger, Azpilicueta
Kovacic, Jorginho, Barkley
Willian, Tammy, Pusilic.

Not the team I want but it is the team I think Lamps will play.

09 Aug 2019 14:44:05
So injuries aside what would your starting 11 be?

Kepa
James Zouma Rudiger Emerson
Kante RLC
CHO Mount Pulisic
Tammy

Maybe a bit youthful and inexperienced but shouldn't lack enthusiasm or hunger, something we've always seemed to struggle with. Definitely missing a Drogba/ Costa type up top.

Spizzy23

1.) 09 Aug 2019 15:14:41
Replace Emerson with Dave, replace aMount with Barkley.

2.) 09 Aug 2019 15:27:38
Swap CHO and Pulisic and I won't argue.

3.) 09 Aug 2019 16:58:17
Replace Emerson with Dave 🤨🤣.

4.) 09 Aug 2019 17:01:10
XI when everyone is fit:

Kepa

James Christensen Rudiger Emerson

Jorginho Kante

Pulisic Loftus-Cheek CHO

Batshuayi

Subs:

Caballero
Azpi
Zouma
Kovacic
Mount
Willian/ Pedro
Abraham.

5.) 09 Aug 2019 17:17:34
Why would you put RLC to Kante?

Mine would be:

Kepa

Azpi rudi Christensen emerson

Kante kovavic

Pulisic RLC/ Barkley CHO

Giroud.

6.) 09 Aug 2019 18:33:58
If everyone was fit I won't Reece James at right back for this game against Manchester United. I will gradually ease him into the team as the season progresses (esp with matches from other cup games) . I will also not play Loftus cheek as a double pivot with Kante, I would rather play him behind the striker; Xouma and Rudiger starts in Central defence for me; Tammy Abraham starts as my point man.

7.) 10 Aug 2019 06:17:29
Obviously there would need to be adjustments when playing top sides but for general games against teams outside the top 6 I’d go for:

Kepa
James Rudiger/ Zouma Christiansen Emerson
Kante Jorginho
Pulisic. Mount/ Barkley CHO
Abraham

I think it’s a bit too early to tell who will play better out of Mount/ Barkley and Rudiger/ Zouma. Also feel a Rudiger and Zouma partnership doesn't have the passing ability required for the lower end teams.

8.) 10 Aug 2019 11:39:31
Kepa; Dave, Zouma, Rudiger, Emerson; Kovacic, Kante; Pulisic, RLC, CHO; Giroud.

9.) 10 Aug 2019 23:27:55
2nd Fuser's selection.

09 Aug 2019 06:14:42
Got to admit initially I was shocked and a little gutted about David Luiz going to Arsenal, really thought he was a Chelsea boy, reality sunk in and I realise that he isn't a Chelsea fan and football is his job, if Lamps has told him he isn't guaranteed first choice then he doesn't owe us any loyalty. He just looks wrong in red though! Will never forget his overhead kick clearance against Fulham in one of his first games. Also got me thinking about the players that have moved between our clubs. Petit, Anelka, Giroud, Cech, Gallas, Diarra, Cole, Luiz. any nore?

Spizzy23

1.) 09 Aug 2019 10:12:37
George Graham, Tommy Baldwin, John Hollins, Colin Pates.

2.) 09 Aug 2019 10:52:16
At the time, John Hollins was my favourite player and I have never liked the bloke since. Us supporters are a strange brew!

3.) 09 Aug 2019 14:35:43
Forgot about Cesc! And Yossi Benayoun, shouldn't have forgotten YB, he played for pretty much everyone at one point or another. My opinion on Lyiz has definitely changed, stupid really. Really looking forward to this season, hoping we don't jump on Lamps too early and hoping Mount, CHO and Co get there chances.

4.) 09 Aug 2019 16:39:59
Yossi Benayoun was the big one for me Spizzy.

Seriously though, Luiz was a big character, with big hair, and that endeared him to the fans as much as his playing ability. He was a player with world class attributes, such as playing out from the back, but he is in my opinion far from the world class defender some people have made out we're missing.

Been mentioned one here already but he certainly didn't seem like a fan when he celebrated his goal against us for PSG. I'm sure he'll be calling the Arsenal fans his "geezers" already. Fact is most loyal fans of clubs are very fickle, and the vast majority of players are much, much more fickle than that.

Anyone else at the game yesterday have any thoughts on the performance?
I thought first half we moved the ball too slowly, couldn't get Pulisic in to the game. Was personally impressed with Tomori, he didn't do anything outstanding, just liked how calm he looked on the ball and unlike Christensen he looked to go forward with it. Barkley was solid, great free kick. Kenedy showed glimpses of what he's capable of. Second half felt we moved it far quicker and with Luiz and Emerson on the left side of defence we looked to play out far more positively. Bats and Tammy struggled to find a great deal of space and similarly to vs Barcelona Mount looked comfortable, hope he gets his chance. Lastly with the exception of the odd chant the away support was phenomenal, didn't stop singing all game long. Odd that no injury time at all was played, the game was stopped for a good few minutes first half for an injury, ref actually blew a few seconds early. Bit suspect at the back and a very open game but most enjoyable, can't wait for RLC, CHO and Kante to be back, think Lamps has some tough decisions to make.
Come on The Chels.

Thanks for the match summary Spizzy.

A mate of mine who was at the game said that Drinkwater and Bakayoko looked lost but he was never a fan of either so I’m not sure he isn’t biased.

2.) 29 Jul 2019 18:57:15
Bakayoko did precisely nothing of note other than blast about a mile over from about 6 yards. Drinkwater had a few nice touches but wasn't massively involved. Recovered from Ireland yet Tom? Brought back happy memories of drink myself sober one weekend in Dublin!

3.) 29 Jul 2019 19:17:35
In the end Spizzy I didn’t spend much time in Dublin but I fell in love again with Killarney.

Massive hangover every day, ’so it must have been good.

Can someone please tell me what happened to Irish made Cadbury’s Chocolate? It was the best by miles!

4.) 29 Jul 2019 23:21:00
Mount has this energy where he works hard presses and can pop up with a goal, his issue will be consistency in s better league, . That comes with game time, Christensen I thought has done well, Tomori i want to go to a premier league team and pair him Next to someone experienced to mould him, think he can be a really good player, Abraham I don’t get what he does pre season and already i don’t think his good enough ( time will tell ) Pulisic offers a lot, I saw article and it showed how many time Pulisic darted from wide in behind but wasn’t seen.

this will be ideal for jorginhos fist time blind balls over the top. Barkley kovecic both impressed, both done well, problem this ore season is injuries, haven’t seen CHO willian rudiger kante who are all starters and James and RLC get time in these new systems, 442 diamond 433 and 42321, I’m counting down until Mount / James / Pulisic have had a season and we can add some top quality around them.

5.) 30 Jul 2019 11:59:23
The 2 that have shined bright pre-season have been Barkley and Mount but I can't see how they can both be in the starting 11. Giroud has been our best CF but I can't see us winning anything with Giroud as our main striker - roll on next summer when we really need to buy a top goalscorer (hopefully Jovic will be peed off by sitting on Real's bench by then) .

Good God let's hope not. We've already got a version of Grealish with Barkley. Not the sort of player we need imo.

I, like you, would like us to appoint Lamps if possible, I'd like us to give him time to work with the team and do his job, within reason, regardless of results, clearly if we lose all of our games we may need to rethink. One point is though that we all seem to be saying that appointing Lamps and Jody will mean we give youth a chance. is that guaranteed? If he does come in I don't see him suddenly throwing in 6 or 7 youngsters. Regardless of who takes over, due to the ban, we will need to integrate more of youth/ fringe players. I guess what I'm trying to say is let's just get behind whoever the next manager is and whatever team he picks, everyone's an expert and could do a better job, having a different opinion is everyone's right, abusing a manager or player is never acceptable. Let's get behind whoever, whenever. Come on the Chels.

Totally agree Shak, we are bound to miss his brilliance and ability to change a game or win us it with one bit of skill but hopefully we will set up as a team less reliant on him to always bail us out.

Was at the game and MM didn't do much first half other than what he does, works really hard, chases tirelessly. Ziyech contributed less.

Interesting how being there and watching on TV give different opinions, thought Rudiger was MOM, got us out of trouble a couple of times and marshalled well. Mate who watched on TV said Kova.

Matthew Harding Lower :-) When I first started going 35 years ago we stood in The Singers in the Shed, now MHL is the place to be. if you don't want a voice in the morning! Love the rail system, my feet not so much! Got the win is the main thing. Lots of chants, the most common for Jorginho! Come on The Chels.

Sadly TomB, myself and a fair few others are very much old enough to remember longer ago than that! This one is up there with the Robben, Carvalho, Duff etc days. was just thinking we might need to be a little patient, it might take some time for all to settle in, potentially more than half the starting line up will change and they won't have a full pre-season. It took Drogs a full season to become the beast he was.
