Thought I'd share this as seen it on the West Ham page from ed02.

There is a chance the West Ham can get Conor Gallagher on loan next season.

1.) 08 Sep 2020 23:48:02
Potential to help get rice maybe? Although hoped they would take barkley.

2.) 09 Sep 2020 00:44:03
Or maybe just a chance for Gallagher to get some experience in the prem.

3.) 09 Sep 2020 02:35:44
Think it would be safe to assume Rice won’t be joining unless Jorginho and/ or Kante were to leave.

4.) 09 Sep 2020 12:37:22
Palace were interested but can't loan two players from one prem team in one transfer window.
They want Bats more I think.

5.) 10 Sep 2020 06:19:33
i don't see Rice as a DM but could turn into one . alternatively, i don't see him as a CB either.
He is still developing and it all depends on which position the manager plays him.

Similar to Ethan Ampadu.

ED001, what would be your assesment on Rice and how does he compare to EA?

{Ed001's Note - I think Rice is a very good midfielder, not really a holding midfielder, but a very good defensive midfielder. He can play the holding role, but it restricts him too much as one of his key assets is the ability to drive forward at the right moments. Rice has a very good eye for just when to get forward and when to sit back, though a lot of that might just be that he works so well with Soucek and they have a natural partnership there. He can play in defence, but he is not really ideal there, lacks a little aerially, not so good on the turn and is still learning to read the game.

Ampadu is more of centre-back playing in midfield, he naturally sits and holds, making him more suited to the holding role. With his range of passing he should be capable of playmaking from that role, sitting back and spraying passes around. He has the pace and mobility to be more than that though, but he needs to learn how to do so, right now his tendency is to err on the side of caution and sit a little too deep to make the most use of that mobility. Shame he has not grown another couple of inches, then he would be the ideal modern centre-back.}

6.) 10 Sep 2020 10:30:51
Wow ED001, Great insight.
dont see a role for Rice at chelsea right now. hard to see chelsea put in the money for Rice and snap him up.

sinve westham are in the PL . i doubt if he wants to move from WH to us knowing that his chances of playing day in and out will be limited.

Cheers.

{Ed001's Note - I think he is one for next summer, a finishing touch to the team. And thank you.}

7.) 10 Sep 2020 12:18:12
So maybe Rice is more of a Kovacic type of player? Big fan of Kovacic but he has to get forward more and score a few goals.

Tomori or Ampadu? Who will be the Chelsea CB of the future?

{Ed001's Note - yes closer to Kovacic I would say.

Tomori, I don't believe Ampadu is seen as having a long term future at CB.}

8.) 10 Sep 2020 12:34:12
Tomori or Ampadu at CB? Ampadu as the holding mid or maybe the feisty Gilmour. Rice or Kovacic as the defensive mid.

We are going into this season with Kante and Jorghino. IF we are playing the ball out from the back, then Jorghino is the player we are most likely going to use to do that this season.

Hey Ed

Was just wondering when decisions are made on the younger players such as Abraham, chalobah, baker and loftus.

Would appreciate it if you could share who is interested in them.

Blue con

{Ed002's Note - Over the summer. (a) TA - Newcastle, Brighton, Anderlecht and Leicester. (b) NC - Not sure. (c) LB - Swansea, Ajax, Bournemouth. (d) RLC - Stoke, Brifgton, Bournemouth and Newcastle - could also potentially be sold if a decent offer arrived.}

1.) 16 Jun 2017 20:40:38
Selling RLC now would be incredibly dumb. We should wait and see what he does when he's getting consistent minutes (something none of our coaches have ever given him, he's never had a fair chance) . A season of consistent playing time could see him show the talent he obviously has in abundance.
I've got a feeling I'll be left feeling disappointed at the end of the summer.

2.) 16 Jun 2017 23:51:10
RLC got more opportunities than any other Chelsea academy player, and he flopped. He needs much more game which he will get in some smaller club like Baker did.
Better loan than sell, agreed!

3.) 17 Jun 2017 07:46:38
20 minutes off the bench every 2 months does not equal getting an equal opportunity. Be realistic. Last time he played this season he made a very good impact off the bench against Stoke. After that Conte didn't use him again. Getting an opportunity would've meant that after that good sub appearance, Conte played him again (either starting him or subbing him in a little earlier the game after) . It's a damn shame.
RLC will make it at the top. We'll be fools to sell him.

4.) 17 Jun 2017 08:23:51
I'm still on the fence on RLC. There's no doubt he's got fantastic attributes and strength. My issue is he's never really nailed down a position. go back to the youth teams and he always played best in a 3-man midfield, surrounded by players like Baker, Houghton, Colkett, Palmer, etc. He's not shown the tactical discipline to play as a two in midfield or the finesse/ skill to play further forward. it seems he's played further forward when he gets his (limited) opportunities as a damage limitation exercise.

For England youth teams he plays behind the striker and is successful as he can bully less physical players due to his size and power.

For me, RLC, Musonda and Boga are interesting as they've developed above youth football but are finding it really hard to make an impact at senior level. This will be a defining season for all three.

5.) 17 Jun 2017 17:04:27
The problem with RLC though is that he doesn't put the shift in. How many times this season he looled slugish? I believe the boy should put his head down and work his socks off.

6.) 17 Jun 2017 23:35:10
RLC has a very comparable game to Yaya Toure and Paul Pogba. A physical monster with a lot of ability with the ball however doesn't necessarily cover a ton of ground and works best in a 3 man midfield with 2 other guys who are all over the place. Unfortunately this position doesn't really exist in Conte's 343. The system has to suit the player in order to be successful.

30 Jan 2017 14:55:58
Is there still a chance loftus-cheek or any of the fringe players may be going out on loan?

Blue con

{Ed002's Note - Yes players are going to be going out on loan - one went yesterday - others will follow. There are discussions today regarding the loans.}

Was watching the youth cup game against Blackburn and there was some interesting news that Kasey Palmer, Charlie Colkett and Olaoluwa Aina has travelled with the squad for the game against Swansea. Would really like to see the boys get some game time in particular I'd like to see Kasey Palmer.

Come on the blues ⚽️.

Blue con

1.) 09 Apr 2016 08:27:38
I'm very high on Colkett myself. Palmer can be terribly exciting on his game, but Colkett just gets the game. His vision is fantastic. It would be fun to see him get some time on the pitch.
Of course this is all secondary to getting a win. Up the blues!

2.) 09 Apr 2016 09:29:45
I like Colkett a lot too, he has a very good footballing brain. I think he could develop into an excellent see lying playmaker. The only downside I see is a resemblance to McEachran, I hope he develops better.

I will disagree with you, Jackson, on one thing though. Personally I'd rather see those names mentioned above play a decent amount of the game than get the result. Both would be amazing but if I had to pick then I'd see the youth put in - nothing to loose and they'll play with freedom.

3.) 09 Apr 2016 10:25:55
You'd rather the youths play then get a result?!? Wow. Why not just support the youth team? Surely the main reason you support a club is for them to win? Not to bring youngsters through? If a youth makes it to first team football and stays there, then brilliant. But I'd prefer my team to win games with the best available players rather then set about playing youth players. We are a big club, not some non-league side who bring players on and then sell them to keep afloat. All about winning games and the 3 points.

4.) 09 Apr 2016 10:25:55

5.) 09 Apr 2016 10:57:32
What are we playing for now? What would 3 points gain us? By what margin could we consider any part of this season as a success in any way, shape or form? An away win at Swansea? No, not for me - that's a result that we won't remember come the start of next season; even if we won 10-0! There's a bigger picture than 3 points away at Swansea, or in the rest of our games, and maybe a 6th place finish rather than 10th.

Of course I want the team to win every game they play! But the successful intergration of youth team players coupled with decent performances from those players, even within a loss to Swansea, would give the club at least one positive in what otherwise has been a throughly disappointing and depressing season - during which our supposedly best team, and players, hasn't got the job done time and time again!

6.) 09 Apr 2016 12:26:57
Just answered your own question. We would gain 3 points. I don't see why we still cannot make the Europa's next season. Only 3 points away from Southampton with a game in hand over them too. Too many people care about the youth these days. If they were good enough, they would have been in and around the 1st team picture anyway. Regardless of the season we've had. Don't get the big hype around playing youths. They may play 1-2 games and then be let go and find their proper playing level.

How would a loss to Swansea be positive? Oh what by playing youth players? Ok then.

Who said anything about this season being a success? I certainly didn't. All I want to see is my club win games, points and trophies. Not how many young players we bring through.

7.) 09 Apr 2016 12:30:43
I have to agree with Jackson and J. Nothing to play for this season so why not give the youngsters some game time to see if they can play in the premier league.

I'd rather give them game time now instead of them struggle to get minutes next season meaning we could lead to them being sent out on loan and eventually being sold.

8.) 09 Apr 2016 12:37:07
We may not remember the result but you'll remember the season we finished below stoke! Would love to finish above Liverpool as well. Like Adam said Europa not out of the question and wouldnot that be a better competitive experience to use youngsters that a few (as you view them) nothing games?

9.) 09 Apr 2016 14:02:44
Looking at the lineup we might all be happy by the end of the game.

10.) 09 Apr 2016 17:11:19
And yet after the game none will be.

Would take him in a heartbeat.

2.) 17 Aug 2016 10:53:08
Hazard over didier mate come off it he's had 1 good year d year we won the league the other seasons he's been here he's been hot and cold ud have to have cech disown Cole even carvalho ahead of him what about makelele he was the reason lampard and co were able to get forward so much.

18 Jul 2016 18:13:37
Anyone know why batshuayi has joined up with the squad and hazard and courtois hasn't. Obviously they aren't going anywhere but just thought it was strange.

Blue con

1.) 18 Jul 2016 18:33:10
He cut his holiday short. He wanted to get involved with the players.

2.) 18 Jul 2016 19:07:02
If true then good on him. I like to see players put in that extra effort to get ready for the season. Making a good impression already.

3.) 18 Jul 2016 20:47:24
Bear in mind he's a new signing, he'll want to get involved asap.

16 Jul 2016 17:07:06
Ed18 not sure if you could help but is there no chat for the preseason games.

Blue con

{Ed018's Note - I'll pass it along, maybe for next match one will be up}

16 Jul 2016 14:12:55
Can people explain why they are against us signing Joao Mario?
He's only 23 and yes he may have not scored or assisted loads last season but what I've seen of him (admit haven't seen loads of him) he looks like a decent player who will just add depth and he will only get better. Not saying that I'm pro or against signing him but just don't see how people just shoot the idea down straight away.

Blue con

1.) 16 Jul 2016 15:10:04
He is just an ordinary player and there are plenty of better players that would probably cost less. Scores a goal every 6.5 games! I am not a Pedro fan but I would take him over Mario.

2.) 16 Jul 2016 15:18:44
Just because he doesn't score a lot doesn't mean he's not a good player. If he came to Chelsea he would be surrounded by better players which will improve him overall. I think he's a pretty decent player and still young so why not.

3.) 16 Jul 2016 16:29:59
I'd argue that he doesn't seem to be an improvement on what we currently have either starting or squad wise really. If he ends up signing i wouldn't necessarily be against it but I just don't see why we need him atm. Perhaps if we were to sell at least one if not two AM's/ wingers I'd understand his purchase.

Hey guys, just want to mention the goal that Christian Atsu scored today. If you haven't seen it I suggest to go and watch it. Atsu Take a bow

Blue con

1.) It was incredible.

2.) It was a beauty, for real. Amazing stuff :)
In other good news, Ivory Coast made it past the quarter finals. So City should be without Yaya and Bony for a bit longer.

I agree wheely, I've never been too impressed with him. He just seems like he never gets out of 2nd gear an just jogs around the pitch.

{Ed001's Note - unless there is a chance to damage someone's leg, he is lightning quick with a nasty stamp on those!}

Have to say I agree with you ELI. People ask questions because they want to know what's happening but everyone needs to check previous posts. There's no point in continuously asking questions when all its going to lead to is the eds not providing any info regarding outgoing a and incomings.

Wouldn’t trade pulisic for sane. Even though pulisic gets injure quite often it has been within the busiest schedule we’ve had in many a year due to C.V.. Not many breaks or rest time between seasons. Pulisic is the most naturally gifted footballer in the team so wouldn’t want to see him leave.

Shak, I completely agree with you that I’m not writing him off but he’s got so much to improve on. Obviously we all think we’ve got footballing Brains and how we want certain players to play but Whenever I see CHO he always looks like he doesn’t know what to do. Fingers crossed he will be the player we all hope he can be.

Gola just read through the Utd page and couldn’t agree more. I’m just waiting for karma to bite them on the backside. So frustrating and hopefully there are massive improvements next year. Fingers crossed it doesn’t effect us getting top 4.

I had a good feeling tonight that Utd would stumble but that’s a joke. Turns out you can jump into somebody else and stamp on their foot and still get awarded a penalty. Absolutely fuming.
