Looks like we are going three at the back with no wingers available that makes sense.

Interesting team selection. Can't say I'm mad at it. Liverpool doesn't exactly have a dominating midfield and Wirtz seems their most creative so without him maybe we have a shout. I wonder if Hato will be on the wing or central. I think he is a superb footballer so watching him play in more advanced positions should be fun.
09 May 2026 12:29:49
Edit: I'm mad at it.
09 May 2026 10:46:44
7:30pm kick off tonight, which is incredible, but it does feel at this point the universe wants me to have no excuse not to watch us get pumped.
09 May 2026 11:57:29
Haha can't see this going well at all. Why did we recall Sarr and Guiu if they never play? Gusto starting again over Acheampong.
Our bench is diabolical. How have we ended up with this depth after 1.6bn?
04 May 2026 17:11:28
We must have the worse set pieces in football. We never look dangerous from anything. We never look like netting. Worse Chelsea team in years. The gusto should never wear the shirt again.
04 May 2026 18:16:21
Didn't we sign a set piece coach from Brighton for a million pounds or something?
04 May 2026 18:42:42
Would love to know how many we have scored from, well, none, in last 6.
04 May 2026 19:59:46
Didn't we also sign so-called footballers for over a billion?
04 May 2026 20:28:30
Didn't we sell players for about £800,000?
04 May 2026 20:48:41
We did, Tom, but we also bought for 1.5 billion. The rubbish we are currently seeing; we should have only paid £1.50. It says it all when young Derry was our best player.
04 May 2026 21:04:50
Bill, things went downhill very quickly, and who knows if things will get better anytime soon. It happens, but we will be back at some stage, and my guess is that some of the players now being slaughtered by some fans will be part of any future success.
04 May 2026 22:12:13
Tom,
I don't disagree with what you say.
I think next season, with the right coach, no Europe, and recruitment, we will be back challenging.
04 May 2026 22:25:37
I think we will be playing in Europe next season.
05 May 2026 08:56:19
If it's not the CL or Europa, then I hope not, Tom.
That way we can trim our squad and the new coach will have a lot of time to work with the squad.
The other plus side is we might not get nearly as many injuries as this season, last season, and the season before.
05 May 2026 09:25:47
Bill, it was a joke, mate. Chelsea play all domestic games in Europe.
Having had my joke that obviously missed the mark, I think we can beat City.
04 May 2026 17:03:37
One positive! Our run of 0 goals in 500 minutes has come to an end!
04 May 2026 17:14:16
It would have been the first time in the club's history if we failed to score in six consecutive league games.
So, these players failed again!!
04 May 2026 16:28:40
Vision 2030 stays on track…. The project lives … It's just beyond my understanding how people can come up with any positives from this ownership's time at the club.
04 May 2026 16:36:39
There is always another season. Onwards and maybe upwards.
04 May 2026 17:01:44
Maybe not many more seasons with your mates still in charge tom
04 May 2026 17:16:05
Kazblue, total rubbish post. They certainly ain't my mates and I never wanted them as our owners.
As always I will be critical when it's deserved, win, lose or draw.
04 May 2026 17:21:00
But, Zkazblue, who would buy this shambles.
04 May 2026 17:28:33
Bill, and that's the reason the Blue Co out protests are pointless. They might well sell, and, as we know, the grass isn't always greener.
Never been a fan of fund ownership, but, unfortunately, at the moment it's becoming a common practice.
04 May 2026 18:06:20
Yep, Bill, they've completely tanked the club on and off field.... The future is starting to look very bleak.
04 May 2026 21:06:21
Well, we ain't getting relegated this season, but it can happen, as some of us remember only too well.
04 May 2026 22:36:33
Oh yeh, it's comparable, Tom - I bet we hadn't spent close to 2billion in the couple of years before we went down.
05 May 2026 02:46:37
Of course not, and we haven't had to sell our best player to stave off bankruptcy.
Things happen that challenge a supporter's support.
05 May 2026 09:00:29
I think, even in those dark days, the fans rallied around the club, as we were all in it together. It just seems different nowadays, as the owners, SDs, players and fans seem to be miles apart, and it does not have the feel of the club that we had in years gone by.
The people I feel sorry for are the younger fans.
05 May 2026 09:29:24
Bill, no way do I feel sorry for younger fans, all they have known is success. Maybe that's part of the problem for some fans.
I do agree about a detachment from the club, and that is a shame. For me, that started under RA and particularly when the decision was made to close CTV.
04 May 2026 16:25:58
Taxi for McFarlane… he can take Shields and all his other kinetic buddies with him …and 99% of our squad. What an utter shambles.
04 May 2026 16:10:26
Simply put… we are crap, nothing kore to it really - the players we have just arnt very good - All of them.
Gutted for Derry and hope he's ok.
04 May 2026 16:07:38
I find myself not even really caring that were down 2-0 as I went into the game thinking we would lose again. What a sad state of affairs and in the words of all of our legends, 'what has happened to my club'.
04 May 2026 16:33:04
The club will remain and at some stage in the future we will return. A bit like McArthur.
04 May 2026 16:34:05
Every game now, the club is a disaster, and it has been ruined. The team is awful all the way through. I wouldn't be gutted at any of them going there. No worldly players.
04 May 2026 15:53:01
This possession football is really successful. Not.
04 May 2026 16:05:12
Come on Bill, just give it another 4 years. Project 2030 is nearly here and the Brighton model will be in full swing. 2031 Championship winners, I reckon.
04 May 2026 16:09:32
Another trophy in the cabinet.
04 May 2026 17:01:18
Fair play, Tom, made me chuckle.
04 May 2026 17:17:58
Standard, while I have been supporting Chelsea, we have been relegated three times. It happens. We will come again!! Hopefully in my lifetime.
04 May 2026 18:17:50
Yeah, but we didn't spend over a billion in those times, Tom. There's no getting around it. This is atrocious.
My favourite season was Lampard's first managerial stint with us. Tammy, Reece, Mason and more breaking through the side. Oh, what should have been.
04 May 2026 20:01:15
That was always going to break up in my opinion.
My favourite season was the Carlo season. My favourite team was the Lamps, JT, Jose seasons. My favourite moments were two Champions Leagues, the Double, the FA Cup finals against Leeds and Boro, plus the Cup Winners' Cup against RM.
My favourite players: Greaves, Wilikins, Ossie, Lamps, JT, Maka, Kante and Big Pete.
04 May 2026 22:38:20
That was a good one. I remember being extremely young and waking up at ridiculous hours (like Melbourne does now) to watch us on Foxtel. Thank God I no longer have to do that, and I can watch us live a few times a season. Anelka was quality that season under Carlo, though.
05 May 2026 09:04:34
Tom
I would also add Hutchinson, Bonetti, McCreadie, Harris, Cooke, Tambling, Webb, Collins etc etc etc.
05 May 2026 09:31:18
All very good players, Bill. Out of interest, who is Collins?
