Total respect to Enzo, playing through pain month after month. Hopefully he will be back to the form he showed at the World Cup and early on his Chelsea career after surgery. Always nice to hear the full story behind player performances. šŸ˜.

Itā€™s got to be pochs training methods carney didnā€™t even play against arsenal.

Is it lifestyle? Is it the Cobham facilities? Is it the training methods? Is it the curse of Eva?

G8

The whole medical situation is a complete and utter shambles.

So fed up before each match day hearing that we have 10 to 12 players injured.

Other teams have injuries but most no where the extent we have had this season.

I believe we changed people in our medical department this season but quite honestly the change has failed miserably.

It's a total disgrace for a top premiership club.

The rumours are itā€™s poch heavily reliant on running and running and running and his methods are apparently ā€œ outdated ā€œ

They said he felt something and wanted to check, hopefully weā€™re being cautious but I really really wanted to see him start few games, my guess, mudryk will play left, palmer central Madueke right,

Iā€™m not sure if has dropped below 8 for any game this season.

ED025 must be well pleased after that result last night. I certainly didn't see that coming. Just shows what a difficult and competitive league this is and sometimes that is lost on people! 7th is needed for a European place and with Newcastle also losing that is still a possibility and might just be a good competition for our young squad? Or are we best off missing Thursday night football?

{Ed025's Note - i want to know what happened when we visited the Bridge G8, you whacked us mate yet we went out last night and deservedly beat Liverpool who i see as a better side than Chelsea, yes no game is easy but like you we seem to go from the sublime to the ridiculous in a very small time frame, you have to ask yourselves are our players taking the piss or what?..

Agree0 0Disagree

25 Apr 2024 13:14:16
I think it just shows what a top class brilliant team Everton are. The manager is also ahead of the game tactically?

But, can we play you every week.

Hope things improve for you next season Ed.

{Ed025's Note - cheers Tom, we are far from a good team mate and Dyche is a dinosaur imo, but i might just take him over Poch, not many teams give us a good hiding though like you did but you are so inconsistent that you never know which Chelsea will turn up..

Ed025, I applaud your response on the Liverpool site to someone who suggested the players were physically done. That excuse by players, coaches and some fans makes me angry. My late father worked on building sites six days a week into his seventies: no sick pay etc. He never complained about being tired at home only my long hair and music. Tired: what a load of tosh.

{Ed025's Note - absolutely Jimbo, i done 50 years in all kinds of weather mate and extra work of a weekend and nobody called for me to have a rest, me and your dad were probably two peas in a pod and these pampered prima-donna footballers want a rest for playing 1 game a week on average!, and i suspect they were on a bit more than us wages wise as well...but you do need a haircut.. :)

Horans, I havenā€™t got a clue why you would respond in the way you have to G8 but surely the reverse of your comment must also be true?

Who cares who is positive or negative about the club, owners, manager or any player. We all just give our opinions and if we are honest most of our opinions are in some way biased.

By the way, I generally enjoy your posts.

Horans, i have been criticised, often quite correctly for a significant percentage of my posts. Iā€™ve been a racist, a cult supporter (whatever that is), condescending, having a superior attitude, old fashioned, rubbish, a vegetable and biased (I am) .

None of the comments stop me wittering on and generally posting crap. Although I do try and subdue my cantankerous instincts.

I find venting my feelings helps me cope in lots of different ways. So, I just assume itā€™s probably the same for some other posters and just tolerate themā€¦ā€¦hahaha.

I agree, very good fans and they always seemed very different from Liverpool fans. I suppose, thinking about it thatā€™s no different to other same city supporters.

Anyway, the best fans at the bridge for the last few seasons in my opinion have been the Forest fans. So I hope they stay up.

I think we just started so weā€™ll v you guys, also if Beto puts that chance away it changes the game, I think itā€™s a simple as you guys were Uk for a fight and they thought theyā€™d brush you aside, see how many Everton players were throwing themselves in front of the ball and getting blocks in DCL lead line brilliantly.

25 Apr 2024 10:39:29
Enzo now having his surgery, played through pain for the side and clearly not able to perform to his best but gutsy. I like that quality in a player. I now hope Poch pairs Conor and Moises together for the rest of the season.

25 Apr 2024 10:57:06
You'd think it will have to be since no one else is fit! It would ne nice to see Golding or Dyer get some minutes but in likelihood we'll see Mudryk playing as a 10 in a desperate attempt to get something out of him.

Agree0 0Disagree

25 Apr 2024 11:10:53
G8, I agree, I like that determination in a player.

I also agree about Gallagher playing as a DM and I hope Poch now starts Chuka.

25 Apr 2024 11:48:09
I'm with you Tom on playing Carney. Maybe experiment with Jackson on the left? I think Blueboy suggested trying Mudryk up top? I would play Big Trev and Silva at centre back for the rest of the season.

Agree0 0Disagree

25 Apr 2024 12:18:10
g8 and Tom agree with playing Carney.

For me this season is gone so from now to the end of the season wouldn't play anyone who is not going to be here next year, although as far as centre backs go this policy could go wrong we need Colwill fit long time out with a toe injury.

Agree0 0Disagree

25 Apr 2024 12:44:10
Agree with CG and Moises as DMs and yes really no alternative. Would also wonder how we can get more out of our attak, we don't have many options there that either haven't been tried already and not been v successful or because of our huge injury list. Are any on it due back any time soon? Will Lavia, for instance, be fit for any game time before the end of the season? or Nkunku? I've lost track - perhaps hope - of may recover in time!

Would Mudryk up front with Jackson in 4222 formation, with CP and CC just behind them be worth trying? Should Deivid Washington also be given some game time as a sub up front?

Agree0 0Disagree

25 Apr 2024 13:16:35
I may well end up being wrong and that is often the case but I just canā€™t see Mudryk starting any game for Chelsea in what remains of this season.

Agree0 0Disagree

25 Apr 2024 14:00:42
You may be right Tom. Such a pity he hasn;t (yet) become the player he would seem to have the talent to be. Possibly doesn't help such a lad that he has been playing in team with largely with other young and relatively EPL inexperienced players, so many changes through injury and rotation.

Agree0 0Disagree

25 Apr 2024 14:18:17
You can see he has raw talent, very quick feet, explosive pace and he plays well for Ukraine. I think one of the ED's mentioned it took him time to settle and he also looks like a player who lacks confidence. Being in and out the side doesn't help either but I agree, he isn't performing anywhere near the level expected.

Agree0 0Disagree

25 Apr 2024 18:08:56
I think it was Wenger who said ā€œthe difference between a good player and a great player is between the ears. ā€

If I remember correctly it was reported the lad had some initial personal problems. I hope they have or are being resolved. Certainly the potential looks to be there but the lad isnā€™t firing for us yet but these things can change very quickly and Iā€™m desperate for him to be the best he can be!

Agree0 0Disagree

25 Apr 2024 22:46:26
I would give Mudryk time it takes a season or so to settle and being Ukrainian can't be easy for the young lad.

Football truly is a funny old game.

While I could see Palace beating Newcastle there is no way I could see Liverpool being turned over by the toffees!

I don't watch Liverpool that often but does Nunez miss a lot of chances on a regular basis?

DCL looked a handful tonight.

He does Tom.

Nunez is very similar to Jackson. Works his socks off and looks a fantastic player but same issues in the final third.

Agree0 0Disagree

25 Apr 2024 12:53:11
Thereā€™s a graphic on slysports which shows that Nunez has missed 26 big chances this season. Haaland has missed 30 and Jackson 20. Those calling for Watkins or Isak should note theyā€™ve missed 20 and 15 respectively too.

Agree0 0Disagree

25 Apr 2024 13:17:25
fuser, thatā€™s an interesting statistic. Thanks mate.

Agree0 0Disagree

25 Apr 2024 14:02:12
Yes a v interesting stat Fuser and does put Jackson's misses in perspective. Haaland's 30 misses extraordinary.

Agree0 0Disagree

26 Apr 2024 00:13:15
Really, Haaland is useless then? Ask Pep to swap him for Jackson - interesting to see what his response would be.

Agree0 0Disagree

26 Apr 2024 07:40:30
No and neither is Watkins. Although only from the small amount of city games Iā€™ve seen hasnā€™t been in such good form as last season.

I guess the stat should be a percentage of chances taken against missed.

Agree0 0Disagree

26 Apr 2024 08:17:39
Nunes has lower conversion rate than Jackson, statistically, solanke best at 53.9% followed by salah and isak.

Agree0 0Disagree

26 Apr 2024 10:34:08
Thanks Matt very interesting. In a strange way I like stats but they always seem to lead to more questions than answers.

Agree0 0Disagree

26 Apr 2024 12:06:14
Jimbo I don't think anyone including me would dream uf suggesting that Haaland was useless. Would have him at the Bridge in an instant and had wanted hime here before he chose City. But I was struck by the stats for him tgis season that can be interepreted - but so can Jackson and others on the list - in a number of ways e. g. as a usually prolific striker going through a bad patch OR a striker who creates more chancves than most so can miss more than most but still scores plenty OR a player not naturally a striker converted to being one who is still adjusting to EPL and though creates/ gets a lot of chances and scores quite a few doesn't yet convert the proportion he should.

Agree0 0Disagree

26 Apr 2024 20:16:47
JBS, you make some valid points. I am not against stats but some are more relevant than others. I believe in certain areas observation is the best way to analyse performance. In any event, what is aā€big chanceā€ as opposed to a half chance or absolute sitter? You could argue that if a striker scores a lot of goals while having a high percentage of missed chances that indicates that he backs himself and doesnā€™t let his head drop.

Agree0 0Disagree

24 Apr 2024 21:51:23
If osimhen does go to PSG who would be everyone's striker target? That is the main position we need I think rest will depend on sales. Hopefully a new keeper if we can offload Kepa and Sanchez.

But who would everyone sign upfront and why. I've stated I like Isak but he's injury prone and unlikely so probs best to stay away as good as he is. Toney is a risk seems to have a big ego and baggage. It's down to Sesko or Gyokeres for me. Gyokeres is the better goal scorer but older and in a poorer league. Sesko has massive potential but still very raw. He's been slowly introduced to the first team and has 10 goals in 27 but a lot of them games have been 20 minutes off the bench so I'm not sure. But down to Gyokeres and Sesko for me.

Agree0 0Disagree

24 Apr 2024 22:02:29
I suppose I will have to admit defeat and except Osimhen moving to PSG.

So Barnet, I have a mate who says a forward at Lille is good but I would go for Kane. I also like the Lad from Juve but apparently that deal looks unlikely.

Agree0 0Disagree

24 Apr 2024 23:51:30
Hard to know who to buy not many out there who are better than what we have Kane top drawer but can't see him at Chelsea would prefer a player with prem experience not convinced by Toney, always like DCL at Everton but like Issak has fitness issues of ready made prem players would go for Watkins at Villa

Sims at Coventry scores goals as does the lad at Blackburn but who knows if they are good enough for the prem but goalscorers instincts don't change . Fondly remember the days of Kerry Dixon.

Agree0 0Disagree

25 Apr 2024 00:12:58
I would love Kane Tom but with this new ownership anyone over 25 is a no go never mind 30. Although I think heā€™d love to come back and break the goal scoring record in the prem.

Agree0 0Disagree

25 Apr 2024 09:39:48
I love the idea of kane but Gyokeres is more likely. For epl experience, I prefer Watkins to toney. Like his clever ways. think he's underrated.

Agree0 0Disagree

25 Apr 2024 22:00:18
Depends which way to look.

One out and out top target no9 - Gyƶkeres,

Ideally we need 2 as Broja isnā€™t going to stay, so would you get 2 x Ā£50m striker rather than one
Sesko and guiressy? Toney and Duran? Bonniface?

Agree0 0Disagree

26 Apr 2024 12:56:30
Iā€™m a little confused as to what a striker is these days. Is a goal scorer or a playing that brings others into the game or a combination of both?

Iā€™m not sure that Boniface is much different to Jackson but I admit to not seeing a lot of him.

Agree0 0Disagree

24 Apr 2024 20:37:47
Slot now looks like he's on his way to Liverpool, so there's Ed002's number-one choice for manager to replace Poch (if indeed he goes) gone.

Agree0 0Disagree

24 Apr 2024 21:01:33
Itā€™s probably Pochā€™s best chance of staying that there will be no credible candidates left given the number of big clubs looking for a new coach.

Agree0 0Disagree

25 Apr 2024 09:51:56
Tt was the first mistake of the new owners. Wouldn't mind his return but not sure how he will cope with the current crop of young players we have. Though certain players might benefit like mudryk and even Jackson if played from the wing.

Agree0 0Disagree

25 Apr 2024 12:55:57
TT is not a good attacking coach, if he were to come back, we might become more defensively sound but our attacking play under him was pretty abysmal so doubt heā€™d improve Mudryck or Jackson.

Agree0 0Disagree

25 Apr 2024 14:04:57
TT seems to be a far better Cup games coach than league one from what I saw from him at CFC plus seemingly the evidence from German league with a side that has nearly always won it in recent times. And, yes, CFC under TT in the league were generally a poor watch.
