To cap off a miserable day I watched Barcelona tearing Real apart in Madrid. Hazard is going to have to play out of his skin for us to stand any chance. The only silver lining is that Barcelona still look weak at the back - but boy, do they attack with pace!

Becoz we sit back and play 5 at back against the better teams. Barcelona love that and we will expect hazard and mortar to do all our attacking.

Simply not good enough.

Only god knows how Zappacosta is wearing a Chelsea jersey. Bakayoko is not chelsea calibre. His passing is dreadful, his a light weight which is a surprise given his physique. Not surprised Batshuayi is performing poorly, his manager does not trust him the slightest.

Top 4 is the target but unless we start being more creative and more quicker then we will make it hard.

Hopefully Zappa get interest from Italy and we don’t lose too much on him. Cannot get over that performance. we’re so boring to watch sometimes, we had no ideas and looked lost in final 3rd. out wide cross, out wide cross, zzzzzz.

I agree with you mate, Top 4 should be our aim in the league now (as probaly was for last few weeks) . Anyway i thought that 2nd change should have changef bakayoko for batshuai and why on earth would you change zappacosta for Moses? Think this will be his one and only season wearing Chelsea shirt.

Honestly do any players except hazard excite you guys, Christensen does for different reasons being so young and composed and future star but Willian and Pedro are so inconsistent, willian holding on to the ball until players are close enough to tackle, always checking back on himself rather than really running at players or taking them on. not happy today, xmas is cancelled lol.

Our general play was so poor, it was very slow. It was the same story at West Ham. It almost seems as if the players know the target is now top 4 and automatically their levels have dropped. Not good to watch from a fans point of view. I have to raise this point up too, why Morata was such a twit for getting booked over scoring a goal in the carabao cup begs belief.

God knows why we set up the way we did this game. No striker on the field in a game we knew Everton would park the bus in, which would then result in endless crosses which was utterly useless with Hazard as our striker. No creativity either without Fabregas until he came on too late. The team we started with is one I'd expect us to use to play on the counter, it's not one we should ever use when we're going to be controlling the game. It's clear to see Conte doesn't rate Bats and he'll most likely be off in January. But we desperately needed a presence in the box today from the off and didn't have it. Our team isn't good enough to break teams down who look to only defend against us, hazard is our only creative spark in this team when Fab doesn't play which is why we desperately need a Mahrez type player or another quality striker in January. It's painful to watch us against poor teams.

I don't think we can blame Conte for not picking Bats today after the way the Pedro / Hazard / Willian combo tore Huddersfield apart in the last away game. Big Sam is brilliant at setting out a team not to concede - and that was game today - Everton at Goodison, not 1 shot on target but Big Sam gets praised.
Funnily enough, I thought that Bakayoko had one of his best games for us today (which isn't saying much I admit! ) - I do wish he would use his physique more to drive at the heart of the opposing defence from midfield'
We have a conundrum - I would love to see Tammy Abraham with us next season but we desperately need a back up to Morata now - there must be a forward out there, in his 30s, that can come in and do a job for us - What's Didier up to at the moment?

Bakayoko had a good game, no need to call him out for the sake of it. Zappacosta is terrible though, can't for the life of my understand why Moses was taken off for him. As I said last week his delivery is absolutely shocking, sweat he just smashes it and hopes for the best. That one where we were looking dangerous, he had loads of space and time and he hit it first time out for a goal kick (or throw in, who knows as the ball left the tv screen. ) . Striker and some extra quality needed to support Hazard, William and Pedro simply aren't good enough on a consistent basis. How can we expect Hazard to want to stay when we're offering him none of the right tools to succeed.

Your comment is really good Saim, you did see the game. Bakayoko played a good game.

Chelsea should seriously start looking at signing a striker, attacking midfielder (s) and a creative midfielder that is a long term replacement for Fabregas.

I am sorry but this is the best Willian and Pedro can offer, I don't see them improving more than this.

call it boring but since Sam took over we have amassed more points than Chelsea, people put to much emphasis on attractive football ad take 1 nil scrappy wins over 3-3 beautiful to watch games.
