I normally go to the games, very strange watching on TV and more stressful as well! Got a say though that Jamie Gittens looks some player. But that keeper? worst we have ever had, terrible.

Jorgensen certainly didn’t do himself any favours.
29 Oct 2025 22:29:07
Jorgensen looks confidence wise looks shot to pieces, agree that Gittens looked very promising tonight.
29 Oct 2025 21:44:18
I did not enjoy that second half performance.
So many performances that were well below the level I expect from virtually every player.
Delap behaved like a complete idiot.
Fantastic goal by Gittens but the defenders were horizontal in the second half.
Anyway, in the hat and that what matters.

I enjoyed that first half. Obviously Estavou looks class but I would also add that both Hato and Gittens are beginning to give some improved performances.
I also like that Josh is becoming a "voice" during a game. He looks like a leader.
The lad we have on loan can play a bit as well.

Yescthe first half enjoyable Tom and nice to see the youngsters scoring. gosls but a very loose game and tons of mistakes by both sides in both halves. Not over yet as I write this but does seem as if we've wrapped it up with our 4th. but uet another red card and for Delap whose just back and presumably now misses any participation v Spurs.
29 Oct 2025 21:40:01
But now Wolves make it 3-4.please don't say we will blow this after all.
29 Oct 2025 21:43:13
Man, Delap. What an absolute bonehead. How do we have so many players with absolutely no self-control.
29 Oct 2025 21:46:12
JBS, never in doubt. ??.
29 Oct 2025 21:58:32
Struggled over the line thought the Delap red card was harsh, but at least he looked fit enough, no matter who plays for us we seem loose defensively but an exciting game and on to the next round.
29 Oct 2025 22:08:54
Our indiscipline is now a crisis and Maresca needs to get a grip.
A win is a win but my goodness we were playing Wolves. Are we ever going to keep a clean sheet.
29 Oct 2025 22:29:44
Apparently EM didn’t hold with criticism of Delap following his stupid sending off.
30 Oct 2025 09:26:38
That's good news Tom, now what is he going to do about keeping clean sheets.
It seems we have to score at least two to win a game at the moment which puts so much pressure on our forwards.
29 Oct 2025 18:57:50
I have no joy anymore waiting for the game meresca has taken the buzz away with the boring football he demands they play. I already see the game being played in my head its that predictable. George being up top excites me about as much as doing overtime on a Saturday night.
(hope he proves me wrong very much doubt it but hope he does) . Will wait to hear from the big players on here about the game as traitors is on my tv tonight. Please give us a good right up on Hato good or bad and hoping Delap gets minutes.

Just how I saw it being played ?.
29 Oct 2025 21:48:39
That was a boring game!
Dreadful defending but not boring. I nice boring 2-0 win will do for me every day of the week.
Hato is coming along nicely.
25 Oct 2025 18:36:32
Just came back to My rented house after the watching game live.
So:
Sanchez: just not good enough, to be a player of PL winning team.
James: few misplaced passes and definitely plays below his high standard (or maybe this is his new standard? )
Chabolah: I can see player there but he is not the leader, especially playing alongside young defender (can you remember how great G. Chill was to Terry and then his level dropped when he played without him? )
Achempong: though he is kinda of fault for 1st goal - was definitely our best defender why he got subbed i don't really know (maybe as he was injured not so long ago? )
Cucurella: one of 3 players in the team who should always be in our 11
Enzo/ Moises: both were good - especially moises as always preventing so many counter attacks. Enzo upped his game and was probably one if not only threats for goal in 2nd half.
Garnacho: even though he scored, tracking back/ fighting for ball is just really, really bad.
Joan Pedro: really bad game and he is not affective as no10. Maresca said that he sees Estevao as able to compete with Palmer for that position. So mahbe.

Lrdit, James has generally been fantastic so far this season.
Pedro, from what I saw had another poor game. I would have subbed him much sooner.
25 Oct 2025 17:43:32
Oh dear back to recent seasons tendency of dropping points at home against a team. that even with our injuries we expect to beat. It did look good early on. But credit to fsr poorer thsn us Sunderland to grabbing an injury tine winner and hoping 2nd in. log for the moment. This seasons Notts Forest from. last season?
It still remains true that the only top teams this Maresca side have beaten are PSG and LFC. But we have had injury woes yet again - if still. not as bad as under Poch - lack a striker and arguably still lack really top quality CB if especially with LC out for season and BB injured again even if some youngsters potentially able to get there perhaps.
But I will stick with my ore- season prediction of a 3rd to 7th place finish in the EPL this season with getting towards higher position in this range depending again on others around us or contending for top 5 too also dropping plenty of points.
Trouble is that though this kind of result is not unexpected it comes on back of our apparent mini revival. But save v PSG in CWC and on Wednesday night v 10 man already v weak Ajax side we havent. played well a for whole game in. many matches in Maresca era or srveral seasons before it perhaps. Groundhog day disappointments too frequent. though yes we had that glorious game in NY and the trophy that went with it plus the expected Conference League trophy of course. And that has been something together with accumulation of some v exciting young talent at the Bridge.

JVS
what we need is an ambitious coach that will let our existing youngsters play.
Maresca is a typical Italian coach who sets his team up not to lose, if he gets a win it's oh goody.
25 Oct 2025 18:19:41
JBS, it certainly wasn’t the result I expected. Unfortunately visiting teams have seen how to set up against us at the bridge and we continue to struggle against teams who generally play five at the back or just a low block.
Some very poor individual performances and this result just brings a juddering halt to any momentum we were creating.
I will stick with 2nd-4th position.
25 Oct 2025 19:21:41
Tom
It's down to the coach to come up with a way of beating the low block, goodness knows teams have been doing that to us for sometime now.
25 Oct 2025 20:07:01
Bill, of course it is up to the manager to find solutions. That’s why have no problems being critical when it’s deserved but I will also give praise when it’s deserved.
25 Oct 2025 17:05:16
No I will get slagged but again why garnacho was better than Neto why wanting the win take Pedro off why do we only start playing fast football when we're behind why bring tosin on who just let the forward do what he wants why does estevao not start the biggest question why is this clown still in charge Sunderland glad for you was the better side all the way through the game didn't no who the home side was how long does the sh@t show have to carry on, ok we poxed Liverpool in last minute won midweek with a lot of luck, where young and no where near good enough it's the worse football I've seen played from a Chelsea team and I mean style and intensity and let's just mention we've lost at home and players have walked off like the don't give two fu&ks that's the mentality and standards we have now.
Same press conference we young we had more of ball I think we had the chances we where unlucky blah blah your a clown get out the club.

Pedro was totally anonymous and in my opinion should have been substituted earlier.
Enzo will be assessed at the end of this season as he was last season.
25 Oct 2025 18:40:37
He will Tom, maybe Juve might step in before then though.
25 Oct 2025 18:40:58
I know Tom but he’s still a striker it’s his job to put the ball in the net and should be natural.
25 Oct 2025 19:26:51
Bill, I know you and others want Enzo sacked but I doubt very much it will happen this season. I certainly hope, for obvious reasons, he is our manager for the next ten years.
25 Oct 2025 21:40:23
What’s obvious I missed something! You want us to keep playing like that…wow.
26 Oct 2025 05:09:42
This can’t be that hard. If he is our manager for long period of time it will almost certainly mean we have been successful in the eyes of the owners.
25 Oct 2025 16:58:16
Didn't see that result coming and it's to easy to say "typical Chelsea. "
So many bang average performances. Pedro was anonymous and Guiu didn't cause them any problems.
Onwards and upwards but that's a defeat that hurts more than the home defeat to Brighton.

We still do not have a clinical no.9 Tom.
25 Oct 2025 20:10:06
Delap wasn’t my first choice as a striker but I haven’t seen enough of him in Chelsea to decide if he can be a “clinical” finisher.
I repeat, I wouldn’t have let Jackson go but I wouldn’t want us to keep a player who doesn’t want to be there.
25 Oct 2025 16:01:03
I don't normally agree with commenters but I do today first half like normal we look as fighting as a beanbag the intensity is zero everyone has got to have 8touches the build up play is so slow am wondering if where trying to put them to sleep to score. Pedro was good last game dropping deep and getting the ball but he can't get into the game because cucurrella is in there and blocking everything up, questions the stupid inverted fullbacks or whatever you call it the man's a left back end of.
Neto has to come off the lads got his card today not got past him yet, Estevao in we need someone to be able to break them down go past people as there defending so deep.

Very comfortable win with several good individual performances.
Very young team with some more youngsters coming on. Good for these lads to get mins. Also good for some lads to be rested or only play 45mins.

Very comfortable indeed good to rest the players, how good is Estevao going to be
Squad depth looks good should be able to handle the games though getting Palmer back will help with the quality.
Looking at the squad when the injured players come back a few may not get the number of games they would like Garnacho comes to mind .
We certainly got a tough champions league draw Barcelona at home and two away games in Italy not easy.
23 Oct 2025 08:17:26
Pleased with result and performance but as seymns points out some tougher games ahead. On a side note Ajax were very poor which is a shame. In the 70s they were a joy to watch and the best team in Europe for a number of years.
23 Oct 2025 09:07:14
As they say you can only beat what's in front of you.
Hopefully our injury list is minimal when we play the tougher sides but we can beat them all.
23 Oct 2025 14:26:20
Viewed the game from pretty decent vantage point - if especially second half of course - in Matthew Harding upper block 17. That block on the coner with East Stand hadn't been a block I'd sat in before but had a good atmoshere. Given it was the anniversary of Matthew Harding's tragic death on 22 October 22nd 1996 there were fittingly quite a few chants of There's only One Matthew Harding.
Match itself was very one sided and especially after Ajax had a man sent off it was just amatter of how much we would win by. Estevao electric throughout and Caicedo as excellent as ever. Great that we could both rest quite a few certain starters for Sunderland plus take the likes of MC off early once game effectively won. Yes and good to see Reggie Walsh's ECL debut and dint he look at ease with it. Mind you -and am sure Maresca aware of this - quite nice to be able to come on when game already won and what remained was almost constant our attack v their defense. And this was the weakest Ajax team I can ever recall watcjing either live or - far more often -on tv. So also some chants of you're getting sackled in the morning aimed at their manager with some wits - with what happened to Forest manager in mind -chanting at Ajax manager before half time 'You're getting sacked in seventy minutes'.
So it was one of those rare games when very early on you could just relax and enjoy skills on display even if our second half display lacked cutting edge perhaps cos we didn't need to have after George goal put us 5-1 up. Anyway that more than comfortable lead farily early in secind half meant I was able to leave a bit early so there was no problem catching a train home for once after an 8 pm kick off!
23 Oct 2025 16:12:23
JBS, thanks for your match summary.
The atmosphere in the MH upper is generally good. Our ST’s are on the West Stand side of the wrap around.
23 Oct 2025 16:58:40
Good win against a side reflecting the growing gulf in finances between the premier league and the rest. That said, as Bill says, you can only beat what is in front of you. Did Gittens set a new Chelsea champions league record by becoming the youngest ever player to create 5 goal scoring chances in one match beating the previous record set by Eden Hazard?
23 Oct 2025 17:40:14
Gttens is a good question RPD to which i didn't know the answer. You rightly draw attention to a player who atarted in very quiet fashion but has begun to look more at home and more confident and more likely to come good in EPL - and not just v woeful Ajax side - in his last few outings for us as Tom though he was likely to.
Tom, interesting to know where you are and that you will have a similarly angled view of the pitch to the one I had last night I guess. if of course from the other side of it. There was a good atmosphere and I have experienced this when in Matthew Harding lower on occasion. but with less good view! What I also experienvced last night on way in was a few going to that section who were chanting some fairly unprintable things about our American owners. not taken up though by others around them.
23 Oct 2025 20:43:27
JBS, you may remember me posting about the toxic atmosphere in my are of the MH upper and directed at Potter, Poch and the owners. I made an official complaint after putting up with it for far too long. I’m pleased to say that those supporters are no longer in my earshot.
I now have a group of Irish lads behind me who make talk loudly about various subjects but rarely football. They also do my head in. I also have a group of four supporters close bye who leave there seats at half time never to return.
Football fans are a bit like family, f@cking weird. At least that’s what my family say I’m like. ??.
18 Oct 2025 17:33:43
Great 3 points from the boys, didn't play well but followed up that brilliant win over Liverpool by being determined and grinding out a 3 nil over forest. Another clean sheet and a MOM performance from an ever influential Pedro Neto who is starting to become a nailed on starter. Big shout out to Maresca for the inspired HT substitutions and also backing young Josh at CH. If we keep grinding out results and stay in and amongst it we might just surprise a few when the big hitters come back.

I think you sum up how most of us are thinking or hoping Greenaway. Sgree about Neto and he does give his all in every match even if contributions more telling in some than others. yes Maresca got the subs and timing of them spot on and dseserves congrats for this. None of the 'major' clubs playing outstandingly well on consistent basis so although I would think we are very long odds indeed for say EPL title - not helped by serious injury problems - and AFC, LFC and City surely more favoured to do better than us this season you never know?! If Guiu trusted to be given more game time and come good as hard working conventional style striker so Pedro released to play a number 10 style role plus we can find a fit CB who can pass efectively through the lines (Tosin? Will Hato be given chance to impress at some stage at LB? Josh and Tc more right CBs of course) CP returns in top form and we can keep enough others fit and avoid red cards.
