Hey Ed002 not commented in a while but been following see you've made some great calls regarding other players for other teams this year yet again so far your knowledge is second to none.

Im unaware if your still travelling but if you have a spare 5mins could you just give us a really quick and dirty run down of the top targets and positions the club seems to be focusing on the most please just untill you get round to putting together one of those sharkppod things please.

all the best safe travels and again thanks for the all the info.

{Ed002's Note - Remind me at the end of the week L.}

15 Jul 2016 12:07:31
Well things do change rather quickly, few of us getting worried about transfers but wow the small list we are now heavily linked to look like a real talent pool.

AM:fellipe anderson
CM:Amadou Diawara
CB:Koulibaly/ Manolas

1. Ed are you aware of what will be happening in regards to cuadrado?

2.Also has club received any offers for any of players yet? i know don't wanna write lists so yes or no would be great.

tragic scenes to wake up to today prayers go out to all the families involved all them lifes gone for what very sad.

{Ed002's Note - Juventus would liked to have kept Cuadrado at the end of his loan but Chelsea, in the first instance, will want to try and persuade the player to stay and it is very unlikely Chelsea would agree to a further loan - but a sale is possible. The dependency on another player discussed before still exists, and there will be a need for him to know how he would be used tactically, but Chelsea would like him to stay. Barcelona has made an enquiry as to his availability but that can now be discounted. Chelsea have already rejected an approach from Atletico Madrid and have a tentative enquiry from Inter but it will be left very much in the hands of the player himself if any interested side were to make an acceptable bid.

Yes there have been offers for players.}

1.) 15 Jul 2016 13:03:20
Afternoon Ed002,

You quote offers have been made,
Would one be to Liecester City for KANTE?

thank you.

{Ed002's Note - Read the post.}

2.) 15 Jul 2016 13:03:58
Well, Lampsy, it would seem that Kante will be joining Chelsea soon rather than later. Reports are surfacing that he will have his medical in the coming days.
So that's good news.
CB is next priority. We desperately need a new one to start.

3.) 15 Jul 2016 13:12:21
And on the European pages, Ed stated that there's a possibility of an improved offer from Chelsea for Barbosa. Ed states that unless the bid happens and is subsequently accepted, then he expects Barbosa to sign a new contract with Santos. So nothing's done there :-)

4.) 15 Jul 2016 13:25:33
Wheelycfc - the question asked by Lampsy_8 was have there been any offers received for (Chelsea) players, to which Ed002 replied yes, there have been.

How did you interpret that as Chelsea making offers for players?!

5.) 15 Jul 2016 14:13:10
Sorry my bad. I read it quick :) )

6.) 15 Jul 2016 14:46:17
I'll forgive you. :)

7.) 15 Jul 2016 15:01:20
Steve_B thanks 😂😂.

02 Jul 2016 03:17:09
Hello EDs put this at the top rather then the bottom to save you reading through my personal opinions but questions below basically go with what's been put.

1:New reports on Kante is there anything other then the previous interest you mentioned worth stating regarding Kante and CFC?

2:Eds Thank you for the info on Batsman a few weeks back again proven correct he looks set to sign any day interest in Morata has been widely discussed Ed018 mentioned the possibility of one other should Morata not be viable would you be able to tell us who?

3.Are the club looking at and out an out wing backs, do you know if Azpillicueta will be moved on or given a chance or is it bit early too say?

4:Any news on CB targets Ed seems to of all gone very quiet does the club still want the Napoli guy in or has interest moved elsewhere?

5:has the club received any official bids for anyone has of yet and do you see Pedro and Oscar moving on this summer?

As always thanks for your time and patience for answering mine and everyone's questions ED002 and ED018 and ED001 all done great job long may it continue its very much appreciated.

For fellow supporters who wish to have a read and say:

Some interesting news developing if true Kante favors a move to Chelsea over an array of top clubs, If and big if this is true what a fantastic signing he could be for so many reasons, young, proven, cheapish considering his ability and other targets we have been looking at and proven BPL player.

Personally think this Batsman kid from Marseille could be a very shred signing looks a little raw but the potential is plain to see. Finding the right partner is key though Costa would be a great match has he could provide the hold up play and act as the target man allowing Batsman to make use of his dribbling skills and runs in behind the last man. But its looking ever more likely Costa is on his way out. IMHO Lukaku is the right man to replace him big powerful 20+ goals a season proven BPL young and good future sell on value potential. i'm not so keen on Morata too similar to Batsman though he is clearly a good player. I would just rather have two strikers who offer something a little different. Who would you prefer to partner Batsman?

With Conte 3-5-2 system hardworking wings with crossing ability is a must if Cuadrado can be convinced to try one last time we may already have one spot covered, manbear was terrible last year and i don't think he could play has a WB he's displays at RB didn't fill me a sense of security or creativity though he is still a good CB with plenty of experience, Baba looks to be heading to Lazio thank god he is terrible he can't cross or defend, kenedy might be a good shout for LWB but still only a kid and of course Dave always gives 100% good solid LB but offers little to nothing going forward what's peoples opinions would you like to see him stay or buy in a proper LWB and use kenedy in rotation?

Okay CB clearly we need to Sign one but i don't think its a major prority, Manbear, Terry, Cahill, Zouma obviously it would be nice to get an upgrade on Cahill but the other three are good enough and now playing three it should provide the cover for terry now his legs are not what they were i suspect he will have a good season. I haven't mentioned Christensen only because ED made it clear he will go on loan for at least another year and may well be sold, i know lot of us would rather have him with us next year but it is what it is who would you like the club to buy at CB and why?

Okay so i think that's covered probable in positions now for outs. As i said above known Strong interest in Baba and Costa, both whom i believe will be sold, also think mikel time is up should the club purchase Kante or another cdm with fabbers and Matic and RLC i can't see him getting games may well be best for both sides to part ways, But a big one that sticks out for me is Oscar where does he fit in if Hazard stays he should play just behind top 2 with the other 2 midfielders playing deeper and fabbers and traore and RLC can all cover that number 10 spot again i think its best for both sides to contemplate parting ways this summer Same for Pedro he left Barcelona for games and he can't defend so playing has a WB seems unlikely i wouldn't be supprisēd to see him go he's hardly set the world alight, Falcao, Pato gone, Remy on his way out to, Begovic likley to go to get playing time although i guess depends on what happens should Madrid or Barcelona come in for Courtois though after last years displays and the Euro's i don't see why they would hopefully changing the GK coach will cheers him a little and he can regain some confidence in early part of the season. Thoughts on out goings guys?

If you managed to read through this thank you have your say, criticize if you wish i wouldn't say i know too much but just what i think we need sure will be many differing opinions its just nice to hear them. All the best everyone Lampsy_8.

{Ed002's Note - (1) I have no idea what reports you have been reading and I do not read newspapers - so I cannot answer beyond what has been said before. (2) I suggest you ask Ed018. At least three forwards are leaving this summer and I have no intention of writing long lists of players the club has shown an interest in. (3) I am not aware of plans to sell Azpilicueta but there is interest in him and much will depend on what happens with Cuadrado - and I have no intention of writing long lists of players the club has shown an interest in. (4) The club continues to be interested in centre backs and have explored taking Juan Jesus as cover - but there is a reluctance from someone at the club. (5) I am not getting in to answering vague questions.}

1.) 02 Jul 2016 21:35:00
We're one of two clubs that Kante will consider this summer.

31 May 2016 14:40:30
hi ed is there anything new to add regarding pogba? are we still in talks or are we now looking elsewhere.

2.also could you tell us what's going on with Christensen will he be loaned again or do you feel the club may be open to a sale or hopefully if there has been talks to bring him back for next season?

3.repetitive question i know so i apologia have we actually made contact with everton regarding lukaku.

4.on the seria A page you said we have been given a price for the napoli cb koudiby (sorry if incorrect spelling) do you no if we are willing to meet the price or if it is seen has to much as we all know napoli not easy to deal with.

5.lastly are we in talks over anyone yet to be mentioned on the thread that would be a first team player in your eyes.

thanks for taking time to read and reply i know your unwilling to do a full least proberly my fault for asking everyweek so appologies for being a pain and sorry to rest of you if it was me that youve missed out all the best everyone gl in euros supporting your teams.

is anyone doing a fantasy football for euro 2016 for the site anyone is aware of?

{Ed002's Note - 1. No, nothing new. 2. Christensen will be loaned or possibly sold. 3. Nothing has changed. 4. I don't know if anyone would be prepared to meet the asking price. 5. I have no idea who has been mentioned. 6. I know nothing of fantasy football beyond all of your posts - try asking Ed003 on teh main football page.}

1.) 31 May 2016 16:21:55
Selling Christensen would be the dumbest thing ever. Why o why would the club even consider that? I can't wrap my head around it.

{Ed002's Note - It is not worth explaining - it is simply a situation that may suit everybody.}

2.) 31 May 2016 16:23:05
Allegedly Pogba has bought a house in Barcelona😥.

{Ed002's Note - I own an apartment in Monaco but won't be playing for them next season.}

3.) 31 May 2016 17:56:50
But you are not Paul Pogba!

4.) 31 May 2016 18:04:41
Selling Christensen for £20m now with a buyback of £30m is the latest rumour.

5.) 31 May 2016 18:37:29
That's fine, Ed. It would just be very disappointing to lose a top class defender like Christensen that could probably already start ahead of Cahill. He was in the Bundesliga Team of the Season for crying out loud :- (

6.) 31 May 2016 22:07:37
There are all kinds of unknowns though. does he want to play for Chelsea? Does he prefer life outside of England? Could he or his representatives be making unreasonable demands? Does he intend on leaving permanently after his loan spell? We're not privvy to any of this so can't just label it as Chelsea choosing to sell a player.

7.) 31 May 2016 22:26:52
Well said Steve. Who knows what the circumstances are? Some people on here are very naive.

8.) 31 May 2016 22:48:06
Well put Steve_B.

9.) 01 Jun 2016 07:48:00
How very kind of you to call me naive, G8. Maybe it'll be best if I keep my naive little self away from posting, much like Melbourne.
Good luck to the Eds!

10.) 01 Jun 2016 12:58:12
Jake Clarke-Salter looks a great centre back, we wouldn't let a player leave without looking at other options.

20 Apr 2016 00:46:04
Ed i know the issue has been covered a while back but has the club sorted the previous issues with lukkaku out i only asked has he's come out with a statement saying he has unfinished business with us could be taken a few ways i guess but thought i'd ask if theirs been any change?

also are united interested in griezman as well now seems to be getting harder and harder to see the club managing to secure his services.

thanks for your time mate.

{Ed002's Note - Bayern Munich have watched Everton's Romelu Lukaku on several occasions this season and Real Madrid see him as a possible replacement for Benzema - if they are able to sell him. Manchester United has shown no interest nor declared any interest in Lukaku at this time.If the club are to look to a centre forward at some point he may well be one option the club look to in the future - but for now, nothing. PSG have had scouts watch Lukaku on more than one occasion and with Ibrahimovic leaving and Cavani very probably leaving as well they are working with some "agents" to bring in a couple of very high end players - and Lukaku is now an option for them with the PSG head coach watching him play very recently. There is now a dialog open with Juventus regarding Lukaku and they should be considered the fourth player in this matter. Dortmund interest is dependent on (a) Aubameyang leaving, which he will, and (b) the cost being affordable for them, which I doubt it will be. For now, not a player in this saga. As for Chelsea, there are no loopholes or secret clauses in his contract that Chelsea can use to buy him cheaply nor are there any "buy back" or other clauses that benefit them in any way. There is still support for him from both his orginal player liaison chap who fought hard, albeit unsuccessfully, for months for Chelsea to give him a second chance after the original incident and from an ex-player who Lukaku has spoken to. However, there were two people at the club who were particularly offended and they would both need to agree to sanction a deal before Chelsea would make any offer.

Atletico has no intention of selling Griezmann unless a very significant fee is offered. Whilst Griezmann has said on a number of occasions that he has no plans to leave Spain anytime soon, he has said he would be interested in a move to Chelsea if the opportunity arose in the future. PSG and perhaps Bayern Munich would also be very interested if he became available. PSG, subject to a managerial issue that is brewing being resolved, will not be in a position to do any sort of deal unless some very adventurous other plans they have fall through, but they are desperate for a high-end French player and he might move to the fore as a target. Bayern Munich look to have found their desired player elsewhere and I would think can likely be ruled out. Chelsea are still pushing for a deal for Griezmann and discussions have continued with a third party representing Chelsea in these discussions – and Chelsea are now continuing talks to push for a solution. I would still not rule out PSG getting themselves in to a situation where an offer is viable, but it is dependent on perhaps two other matters.}

Do any of the Ed's know what the plan for Lampety is he been with us since he was 7 looks to have a lot of speed and strength wouldn't mind him and Reece James being given a run in first team but I presume a loan first is the plan?

{Ed001's Note - I don't sorry and James' injury will be the key factor in what happens to him.}

1.) 08 Jun 2019 12:14:50
Lampety looks a good prospect. Ridiculously quick but at this stage of his career maybe a bit lightweight and for that reason goes down a bit easily.

For me he needs a loan move.

{Ed001's Note - you have plenty of options ahead of him as well. Oh and I mean James' injury would decide what will happen with James this season. Not meaning to suggest it would have any bearing on Lamptey if that is the way it reads.}

2.) 08 Jun 2019 13:51:41
6 weeks out apparently, will be back around pre season, so a lay off but not as bad as feared - the sun.

03 Jun 2019 13:47:32
So I'm going to guess it is either going to be Holland or Lampard taking over from Sarri as it would appear The club has decided to not appeal and really these two are only real choices Holland because he will get best out of the youth and Lampard because it will unite the fans and most people will give him time even if results aren't great.

Ed 100% right home games have been toxic this year and in hindsight Sarri has done much wrong city and Liverpool are way ahead to get third was remarkable in itself.

If as I suspect the club have decided against appealing and with hazard almost guaranteed to move on getting top four next year will be a huge achievement.

Does anyone know if my thoughts are correct or not in terms of deciding not to appeal and who would people want Holland or Lampard personally I'm going with Lampard has don't want england being disturbed and the fans will back him but he's a long way from ready.

May I also ask ed if you don't mind where do we stand as a financial perspective right now are the club doing very well in that regard or do the books still need balancing? Thank you.

1.) 03 Jun 2019 14:25:58
Will be a tough few years, some of the loan / youth players are not half as good as people make out or hope they are, most won’t make it in prem, add that to some of first squad need replacing by time we can buy new players we may not have the lure of champ league football, Holland would be my choice, or lamps AND Holland,

20 Jul 2017 06:54:21
So Assuming Morata deal goes through which seems likely i'd assume we will still be in for a LB, CM, ST

Could any of the Eds confirm 1. if the club is targeting a player for each of those positions?

2.Any idea what players are still of any interest had a look through the search bar but most of the names mentioned previously we have signed or have gone elsewhere or like Veratti look almost impossible to get.

Also please come back ed002 your sincerely missed here your info on CFC is second to none i'm sorry we can't do more to help cut out the trolls but a lot of us really do appreciate the effort and time you put in could we please have just one more chance to not ask any stupid questions regarding money or length and timing of transfers or anyone being bone idle lazy and not checking the search engine, hopefully people will now realise any kind of foul mouth or abusiveness will not be tolerated in the slightest and i really mean no disrespect to Ed001 or Ed018 really appreciate your efforts aswell in particular ED018 who has stuck with us through the mess but we could really do with you back Ed002 are you willing to add anything in terms of anything going on we are unaware of?

if not won't ask again and im sure you'll be back when you feel its right but long has you know some of us are grateful.

and again thanks to all the Eds and regular posters who have kept the thread going even whilst some have deliberately tried to disrupt it.

1.) 20 Jul 2017 13:30:14
Ed002 will probably return after the summer window, so we'll have to make do without him. Ed001 has replied to my question on the rumors page that the club are looking to get another CM in, so there's that.
And Matt Law has recently stated in an article that the club haven't given up on Alex Sandro just yet. Sandro hasn't signed a new deal with Juve either, so I'm guessing he's open to a move. Maybe we can give them a good deal for Matic if they deal Sandro.
Ed002 in the past has stated that the club are looking to get 2 strikers in this window. Morata is 1, and I'm guessing Moussa Dembele could still be of interest as a 2nd striker coming in. If I worked for the club I'd be taking a good look at Schick. His move to Juve fell through, but maybe it's an issue that can be resolved. He's immensely talented and can play both as a lone striker as well as an inside forward.

Hope this helps, Lampsy.

2.) 20 Jul 2017 15:11:34
much appreciated Jackson.

3.) 20 Jul 2017 18:37:56
Well personally I don't think we will go for another Striker.
I think we might sign another attacking player who can play as striker if required.

19 Jul 2017 01:46:23
id love it if we don't get a top striker in then batman goes and bangs in 30-40 goals lol he defiantly good enough to do it.

1.) 19 Jul 2017 08:15:09
I wouldn't love it if we didn't sign a top striker. I would be dissapointed but having said that I have confidence in Batshuayi to start scoring and improving and developing as a player game by game.

I think should he stay then this year he will be given more game time in any event. He isn't competing with Diego Costa which can be a positive for any striker. Diego has let himself down but in my opinion he is still one of the best, if not the best striker in world football.

2.) 19 Jul 2017 09:00:51
Batshuayi must stay in first team squad and get much more laying time this season, but we must have a world class striker there too. We have Champions League as well as EPL and we need a squad that is bigger and more powerful than last season's, not weaker. Resigning Bertrand as home grown player with EPL and CL experience might make sense, but we also need to add some of our youth plus two or three proven world class players to squad, including at least one striker. Hopefully Conte (now contract sorted) and board will get tings moving more swiftly and decisively now.

Rumours that Belotti gone to AC Milan and City in for Danilo (just how much money are City allowed to spend?! ) . The Manchester clubs ooking set to have more strength n depth than us.

Anyway have just bought my Burnley tickets and will start the season, as ever, with hope and fervent support for the team.

16 Jul 2017 05:36:10
Okay Ed saying possibility of two ST which is nice to know thanks for that ED, i know you've had a bit of grief here i for one have asked some stupid stuff in past if i had thought before i typed may not of suffered your wrath can only apologise thought but it is nice of you to give us a bit of a second chance many of us appreciate it mate.

On to football matters is anyone else a little bit mystified has to why we are not trying tooth and nail to get Sanchez away from Arsenal can play RW or ST both positions we need improving IMO he wants CL Football we can offer that he has 1 year remaining on his contract surely Arsenal would be tempted buy a fair offer considering they would loose him for nothing next year. he's proven in BPL and CL for Barcelona he is a perfect replacement he would also link up play i believe with the likes of Hazard Willian and Pedro quite nicely just a bit confused has to why he hasn't been plan A since day one.

Has anyone got anything new to add regarding the ST situation other then twitter crap? really wanna know who clubs main target is even reports of Higuain nowwould just love to get somone in soon to get playing these closed door games with the team get a bit of chemistry going.

You could also look at it anthor way as sad as it is we've lost these lads were getting them out and they should be playing week in week out there the future of england and they need to be playing for an elite team such as we are you cannot throw kids in who aren't absoulutley exceptional i think chelsea have done the best by them and not the club itself and in a way that merits respect and who knows if they do make it someday they will come home.

That is true nibby but it does make logical sense if this Nike deal is soon to be announced to wait before confirming or unveiling anyone that just seems the right way to do business, Chelsea will defiantly reinforce RA has always opened his wallet for the club look at what he's done for us why would it be any different now? everyone needs to just be a little bit patient has there is a long long way to go and id rather the club work on targets that fit the mould of Conte then just going for anything to say look we have spent 100 mil on players that are not of the quality that would improve the squad. also needs to be taken into account the abundance of young talent we have and which of them will now be integrated into the squad which is what we all want to see some of these prospects coming through and getting the opportunity's the squad can only be of a certain size so expecting a whole host of players is probably unrealistic yes man u and city have got a few over the line but i also expect them to sell a whole lot and neither have the amount of youth players ready for squad rotation roll that are of good enough quality i would expect 3 signings this year myself and any more then that will likely be replacements for players sold on so that being said anyone we sign we probably be of big significance and worth the wait. and whilst its not our money and no relevance to us its good to see the club not being held to ransom and paying completely over inflated prices the future looks bright and i think we will all be satisfied by the end of the window and have no doubts that Conte will remain KTBFFH and be patient much love blues take it easy.
