Truly, I wouldn't pay €50m for Kovacic but IMO, I think he's very much needed in this Chelsea midfield (the guy's versatility in our midfield trips me a lot- he can play DM, RCM, LCM; you see that this season when he replaced Jorginho, replaced Kante and replaced Loftus cheek/ Barkley) . Kovacic is very good in a 3-man central midfield and 2-man central midfield, so I think many managers will like him. The guy has good link up play, can keep possession, has good ball winning ability and has good box to box runs. Most of us keep judging or comparing him to a number 10, I don't think he's a perfect number 10 cos of the lack of goals and assists in his but I think he can hold his own. Conte is smart to want him at Inter Milan at the moment cos he's just an excellent utility midfielder to have in any squad.

Read somewhere that Suso is available because Milan needs to raise funds for as low as £40m. Not sure if the price is correct and if he actually is available, but it would surely be a very good price for a player who be a decent replacement for Hazard! As far as I recall, I believe Ed 01 mentioned him as a good replacement about a year ago, and I think he's homegrown as well!
No we're not allowed to buy as of now, and apparently they need to sell before june 30 according to the report, but if we'd be allowed to buy him, surely it'd be a good acquisition!

{Ed001's Note - he has a lovely left foot on him and worked really hard as a youngster at Liverpool. He would have been perfect in the Klopp style but unfortunately we had Rodgers then who couldn't spot the lad's talent so got rid.}

Ed001, what are your thoughts on Brendan Rodgers?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - good coach terrible manager who constantly takes the credit for everything good but refuses to take any of the fault for things that go wrong.}

Hey ed's do any of you have insight to whether the club are going to appeal to get the ban frozen or just to try overtime the ban itself. Thanks.

Ed 001/ 002
Any developments on the managerial front?
I am guessing nothing will be announced until after Cech is officially appointed.
Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - No, there is a tentative list of options and that it is.}

Thanks Ed 002.
Do you see Cech replacing Emenalos role at the club or having more influence on the clubs long term football strategy?
More like Bayern for example.
Thanks
T.

{Ed002's Note - It is neither - I am not sure what you mean about Bayern.}

What will Cech’s role likely entail Ed002?

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to get involved with that.}

I don't see why people are excited about Cech incoming, he likely will act as Roman's eyes and ears at ground level and report as fit - to avoid player power and direct contact between players/ head coach and Owner.

With Roman's inability to work in the UK, its vital that he has someone whom he trusts and understands the inner workings of a dressing room to report facts, not opinions on how the head coach is performing.

Quite simply Marina does the negotiations for all financial aspects of the playing staff and this I would assume is unlikely to change and for good reason.

He will probably take a seat on the 'transfer committee' but only as a footballing voice, but they also have agents that they have worked with for years (Kia Joorabchian, Jorge Mendes etc) who are quite well informed about abilities of potential players.

Cech's role will largely be inconsequential from a fans perspective IMO.

From what I have read Cech will be more of a liaison between the head coach and the board. Not sure how much say on transfers he will have. On a side note it really bothers me that Chelsea get advice from agents for which players to sign-what possible reason could an agent have to suggest Chelsea sign a player other than that they are a good player that would improve the Chelsea squad?

So sarri is almost gone. If he leaves we will move on and find a more suitable manager. He was brought into a side that played a completely different style and was forced to adapt players who would never work in the system to be square pegs in round holes.

Let’s get back to our strengths, we have an incredible counter attacking side and a side that could work in a high press. Players like Azpilicueta, Alonso, Kante and Willian Are much more set to counter attacking game.

Also on Sarri, I didn’t mind him but he wasn’t fantastic. We finished top 4 because of the other sides being even worse than us. The Europa run was good though I will admit.

It also wasn’t the fans fault he’s leaving. Juventus are a bigger club, a better fit, in addition to them being in italy. He was always going to leave if they came calling.

Good season due to the Europa league win, but we can improve next year. Without hazard other players are going to have to step up and I see Willian being a force on the left wing next year.

Come on chelsea! And let’s get behind whatever manager comes in.
