Hi ed01, 2 questions don't know we're to ask what is your opinion of Terry venables ad manager
And Glenn hoddle as a player and manager

Guilty pleasure hoddle was my first ever favourite player.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Venables was ok, at the right club. He wasn't the best tactician, but he knew how to get most players to perform for him. However he did have favourites at the expense of often better players.

Glenn Hoddle as a player was a fantastic technician but a lazy get. If he had put in a bit of effort he would have been world class, but he lacked the willingness to work. He was the Paul Pogba of his day, all the ability wasted on a man who would rather strut around looking good than doing what was best for the team. Technically he is probably the best English player, maybe of all time. However that laziness meant he was very reliant on the quality around him to enable him to perform. Wonderful to watch, but only half the player he should have been.

As a manager, he was again all about technique but he had the sense to build his teams in a way that allowed the technical players to get the time and space he wanted in his day. However, at the top end of the game he struggled to get the players on side, they thought his dalliance with Eileen Drewery bizarre. They were also annoyed at the way he looked down his nose at them for not being as talented as he was and his constant interference in coaching sessions by showing them how it should have been done got up the noses. So it is likely that his career as manager in the long term would have been short term lifts to a side followed by a rapid decline as the players turned on him. At lower league level he could avoid that simply because of who he was and the hero worship that accompanied it.}

If you read Dennis Wise autobiography, he is very critical of Hoddle as a manager.

But Hoddle was the start of Chelsea becoming a professional football club rather than a social club.

I was told a long time ago Wisey wasn’t happy with GH after he felt he was let down.

Ed002, you've said multiple times there was something lukaku did you upset Chelsea which ultimately led to him leaving and not returning. As a few years have passed, may I ask what this is. You were the only one ever reporting this and I'm rather interested.

Completely understandable if you wish not to disclose.

Where abouts are you during the pandemic? Hope everything's alright with everyone on this site. Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - It is really not a matter for discussion. Everything is fine with me thanks, and I hope you are hanging in there.}

Ed002, is Conor Gallagher the only player from the loan army who has a chance of making the Chelsea first team next season?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Do you mind mentioning who else the club might choose to integrate?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It depends how players perform.}

Thanks Ed002. I asked this because I was hoping that Chelsea give a chance to Ampadu rather than buy Magalhaes (I know it's not a done deal) or someone else if one of our CBs were to leave as you said on the Everton page.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is not as simple as that. Ethan Ampadu has lost this season completely and maybe another loan would help him. Chelsea have a series of CBs they are interested in and if it looks like one of the existing players will leave then they will look to a replacement. They also remain very interested in a couple of youngsters - but the existing issues with health and money may be disruptive to the plans - which are themselves not finalised even though discussions have been taking place.}

I completely agree Ed002. I just felt that if financials become a problem, it would be better to focus on the ST, LW, LB and backup GK positions going by your last detailed transfer list about Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - That is really not how it is working.}

Thank you Ed.
Do you think you can give us a detailed transfer list maybe in 1-2 months?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - If it changes but right now it seems to be pretty much as it was.
