Unless the Koulibaly situation is too far down the line, will Chelsea compete with Man City if Man City decide to pursue Bonucci further, regardless of Juventus's not for sale position, Ed002?

As you have said in the past, paying over the odds can force the issue in some situations and I was wondering whether Bonucci may be an example of this kind of scenario.

Hopefully Mr. Conte's relationship with the player could help also, if needs be, given Bonucci being content to stay at Juventus.

If I am wrong, please tell me, but this is just my hunch on Bonucci.

On a side note, City are not messing about going for Bonucci and Stones, approximately short of £100m on two centre halfs, excluding other players they are pursuing, unbelievable.

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea has an interest in Bonucci as I have explained. They don't want to sell and he does not want to move.}

Aina has signed a new four year deal - delighted with that!

I'm absolutely delighted but surprised - now play him!

Now he has signed so clearly the issues around him are resolved. He is someone who I think could def break through this coming season. But he just needs to learn to walk before he can run. Then he will be a great player.

If Conte goes for three at the back can people see him being developed to play as one of those three? I think he has the size and ability to potentially be similar to someone like Umtiti who Barcelona have just signed and can play across the back.

Juventus seem to be after a few of Chelsea's players Ed's. Players reported to be Oscar, Cuadrado, Matic.

Are Chelsea willing to sell these players or are they looking to keep them?

Any chance of doing one of your roundups please?

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - There are no more round ups Adam. All of these players have been addressed previously - there is nothing more to say right now.}

It looks as if Juve are interested in taking two maybe three players from us, Matic, Cuadrado and Oscar.
Hopefully we can recoup a reasonable sum and offload at least two of them.
ED's I know unrelated, but given Conte is now here and his relationship with Bonucci, would these sales give us any bargaining power in a potential deal. He really would be great for us?
Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - No, there is no leverage. Manchester City and Chelsea are both looking to Juventus' Leonardo Bonnuci for the summer but the player seems happy at Juventus and they don't want to sell.}

Thanks Ed, much appreciated, Bonnuci really is a class act and would enhance any team.

I reckon the Witsel story is his agent stirring the pot to get Everton/ Napoli to hurry up. Confident we will get Kante.

Let's hope so.

I agree CFCFOREVER - there undoubtably has been historical interest but I don't think there is now. The latest stuff on Matic is that Conte/ Chelsea have put 'not for sale' signs up around the player. Makes sense, yes he had a bad, and lazy looking, season but he is a much better option than Witsel; I'm sure Conte will get the best out of him. I wouldn't see Kante as a direct replacement for him - Matic, Kante and Fabregas could be an excellent midfield three.

I disagree regarding Matic. He will be gone, probably in the next fortnight or so.
