Is Chelsea still interested in signing Bakayoko and Sandro or the personal terms and transfer fees are not agreed yet?
Ed please throw some light.

{Ed018's Note - yes they would still like to sign both. I'm not sure about any terms being agreed at this moment. I know Chelsea met with Juventus this past Monday about Sandro but it sounds like it might drag on for a bit. I still think Bakayoko will get done here at some point}

1.) 09 Jul 2017 21:25:57
Undoubtedly Sandro is world class. I am surprised that we are looking for a major recruitment in that dept as Alonso did a fantastic job. Granted his lack of pace is a concern but still it wouldn't be a major desaster if Alonso was first choice again next year.

2.) 09 Jul 2017 22:16:58
This allows Alonso to move into the Left handed centre back role. Where he sometimes played for Fiorentina.

3.) 09 Jul 2017 22:21:34
The problem is united still want a player like Bakayoko, he is an easier and cheaper target than Eric Dier or matic. We have been pussy footing about for weeks again, I can honestly see united coming in and signing him.

4.) 09 Jul 2017 22:46:05
Well let's look at it like this. If you united swoop in and buy bakayoko then at least we know the problem lies with chelsea and how we recruite players.

5.) 10 Jul 2017 00:34:51
i don't understand how the club doesn't see the advantage having Bakayoko gives above other clubs. This isn't a transfer that should even be deliberated upon. WHAT A PLAYER BAKAYOKO IS (just 22-23yrs) . For those that think Chalobah should be given a chance as against having Bakayoko, please they should think again. He has the ability to outplay Kante even. Pls not this one.

6.) 10 Jul 2017 07:36:03
The problem with buying Bakayoko now, is, that we haven't a buyer lined up for Matic.

If United were still interested/ Chelsea were willing to sell to them, it might get done quicker.

That's just my thoughts on it.

7.) 10 Jul 2017 09:56:41
I doubt if we 'won't' sell Matic to Man U for petty reasons. It is far more likely that Matic will sign for United as soon as Bakayoko signs for us - which will be this week.

Thanks Ed018 for the reply.

I will take the result. All to play for in the second leg. Not having a target man has affected the Chelsea play. Although we could reasonably argue that Conte was going for the pacy counter attacking system.

Gutted to concede a soft goal. But overall fair result.

1.) 20 Feb 2018 21:56:08
Fair result would have been a Chelsea win in my opinion.

2.) 20 Feb 2018 22:13:04
Sometimes we have to give credit where it's due. We were playing against a team who is top of the league and is having a 24 games unbeaten run.
Barring from the one defensive mishap which leads to Messi goal, we were solid in defence. We can defeat Barcelona in camp Nou. All to play for.

14 Feb 2018 21:46:24
Pace of this Madrid vs PSG game is scary. Lovely display of attacking football! End to end stuff.
Wonder how our game will be.

{Ed0333's Note - the mind boggles

12 Feb 2018 21:58:09
We were clinical. Not back to our best but that will do. Atleast player's showed some determination.
Giroud is good for the way we play. Missed that focal point since Costa's departure.

21 Aug 2017 09:45:01
Ed, do we have interest in Krychowiak?

21 Aug 2017 02:51:21
Italian Catennacio at its best. Superb display by the whole team.
Midfield trio of Luiz, kante and bake were amazing and covered the every inch of grass preventing Ericsson crosses.
Back three were solid too. Christensen, take a bow son. Have to be first choice over Cahill.
Loved the performance. Looked like the performance of Italian national team in 2010 world cup.

1.) 21 Aug 2017 08:13:20
Don't forget Bakayoko and Morata will only get better and hazard is returning soon. We just need some depth now.

2.) 21 Aug 2017 08:17:50
I do feel we need backup for alonoso and moses especially as we are now going to compete in Europe.
Can't see both play for 60 odd games in this season.

3.) 21 Aug 2017 09:09:21
Hey chelsea for life I think alonso deserves a mention lol
Never gets any credit that boy.

4.) 21 Aug 2017 09:43:32
Yeah. Wingbacks are important in this system and Alonso was flawless yesterday.

Cahill always plays like a fan. His heart is in it but his playing style has its limitations.

Typical English defender . great blocking shots but poor in passing, pace and tactical discipline.

Conte is a Genius but like every genius he is a bit mad- Pirlo

Conte is great at building teams and winning titles but when things don't go his ways he becomes bit eccentric.
This has always been his problem in the past. In Juventus he famously quoted " you can't dine in $100 restaurant wearing $10 suit". This was said criticising juventus 's lack of spending. Two days after he parted ways.

Now similar story is playing out at Chelsea. He is disgruntled with mediocre buying of the board. Having said that we all know the spending power of Chelsea is greatly reduced by this so called financial Prudence. The club now clearly want to buy young players cheap and sell on a profit. Hence the bakayoko, Barkley, Emerson etc.

I am following Chelsea since 1999 and can't comment on the era before that. But this Chelsea side is used to winning and I can't fathom the lackluster attitude of players. Losing is fine but not trying to win is .

Squad needs rejuvenation and motivation. I am not sure Conte can do that but if he turns this around then I am sure we will achieve something great this season. A champions league perhaps😀 hey a fan can always wish.

Sorry for the long post.

PS: I am not a troll😂.

Who sells a first team player to a direct rival. That's just pure common sense.

Bakayoko is out of the game. Conte has confirmed that.

3-4-3is the way to go. In 3-5-2 we tend to be ultra defensive. The gap between midfield line and forward line increase in this formation. To make this work one of the midfielder should join the attack frequently. However barring Fabregas (who is slower these days) non others stem confidence in attacking capabilities.

Why not go on attacking mode with 3-4-3 with Giroud as target man and hazard, Willian to support him.

But I think Conte will again go for 3-5-2 with defensive setup as he does in big matches.

It is perfect vision ed! All old men have half blind vision 😂. Alas!

"Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder" you don't need glasses for that.

I am at my job today and still wondering how come spurs came up from that two goal deficit. Would have loved them to spursed it again. Stange game is this, football!

{Ed001's Note - I have been half blind since a kid, oddly it has not changed in about 20 years despite spending most of my time now sat on a comp staring at a screen. They say that makes your sight worse so maybe it would have been perfect by now without doing these sites!

Luckily I will always be young and beautiful.

To be honest I missed it, early V-day so I could get peace for tonight's important game.}

Yes I agree on your views Ed 01. Salah needs to perform at that level for few years to be considered as near world class. Klopp and his tactics is tailor made for him. Liverpool can build a team around him provided they can hang on to him. Same as hazard and Chelsea. A fan can only hope.

I have 6/ 6 vision ed.

{Ed001's Note - 6/6? Not heard that before had to look it up to see if that was good or bad! We use 20/20. I am half blind without my glasses these days.}
