There seems to be a lot of negative vibes here about Sarri being very close to being appointed as our manager. Not for once will Chelsea appoint Sarri without the guarantees over his behaviour which they have done with former players.

What he has said in the past was wrong but let's leave that in the past. We have had former players and legends do things a lot worse than the damage Sarri has done with his mouth. However, we are very easy to forgive a few former players because they are legends to us. Mourinho's incident involving the female doctor was bad, even worse he poked the late Vilanova's eyes out and yet we hire him for the 2nd time and no one said anything back then. Terry, Cole, etc have all done bad and got bad publicity.

So let's get off the negative bandwagon and accept the manager the club appoints. The club is making a very bold choice for once, we should see a new dimension to our football, Sarri is renowned for attacking football, high press with a lot of possession. Surely It can't be that bad, and better than all the defensive dross we have witnessed over the years.

Thanks Obinna. I just thought it's fair that I put that out there.

Personally I will be really happy once he is appointed and I'm sure sure majority of our fans will be too. The majority of us have been calling for a more refreshing style of football, hopefully he delivers. If it turns out to be a success then the club will follow that model going forward. I would love to see the damage Hazard can do in a Sarri team.

I think it's very very wrong of you to compare sexual scandals from the players with sexist, homophobic and racist saying made by a manager, as he should be THE example for the club and players, and is a club's most important face to the outside world. It can never be a good decision to hire such a man, and Chelsea would need to sack him the second he'd express the same kind of thoughts, as it simply cannot be tolerated by a global brand to have such a coach. I also think it would be a very, very bad signal to hire such a man with the ongoing investigations of what happened back in the days, where some of our coaches apparently abused some of the players both sexually and racially.
Of course the attractive football would be fantastic to witness at the Bridge, but I believe it would bring a lot of uncertainty, as he might be a bomb waiting to go off. I really hope we don't sign Enrique, but I'd actually rather have him as a coach than such a man. What I don't get is why the club doesn't consider Jody Morris or other young, positive and idealistic coaches for the club.

Let's see if the ticking bomb that you refer to goes off then, rather than speculating about his future given his past and waiting for something to happen. His comments are of course bad but the antics that occurred in our club from a PR perspective in the past were really bad too. I'm sure they have spoken about husband behaviour in any event.

As a fan your your entitled to your opinion, but I don't think Morris was ever in the picture at the club unless things got really bad in finding a manager.

There is a chance that Jody loves our club and would rather stay with us for a long time in his current role. Otherwise he will get a chance at the big job and be gone after two maybe three seasons. Also why would we want to lose his expertise at developing our youth. If he wants the job I would be all for him being given a chance but I feel he can help our club development better in his current role.

If you have, I’m surprised you refer to people’s concerns as “politically correct garbage”
If our executive give this man the job as our manager I will NOT stop supporting them, I will just be very disappointed.

I guess if he is appointed and then starts winning and making us compete for trophies you still Be "Sarri Out".

It shouldn't be Be like that, I'm not saying it will but as fans we should get behind the team no matter who is in charge. Bad toxic atmospheres are the cause of bad results and that's a fact.

I must say, that I would welcome Sarri with open arms as well, as I would with whoever is appointed manager, no matter how stupid a decision I might find that. And I fully agree with TomB - this isn't a case of just being politically correct, as what he's said isn't just politically wrong but simply things you'd never hear from a proper human being with wit and just a tiny respect for others. And fair if you do not care about what he's said, that's up to you, but think of what our sponsors would say if Chelsea's primary outside face were to say that of thing? We haven't always been the least controversial team, as has been mentioned, so I couldn't imagine the media going light on us. And after all, football is very much about the business end nowadays.

We fans are simply divided on this matter. Appointing Sarri will be a bold risk, that Chelsea will have to take at this juncture. I would love to watch attacking, free flowing football for once at chelsea instead of this so called tactical managers. Pragmatic/ CV managers i. e. Conte and Mourinho are good for winning the trophies but when that does not happen, you are left with dour, long ball punting football.

To give this club a identity and footballing culture I think this appointment is vital. In order to have this we can ignore the earlier remarks of the incoming head coach. Football is important at this moment not political correctness.

Yes the past comments are vile and disgusting but every man does deserve a second chance at redemption atleast.

Would our dear posters apply the same criteria at the case of John Terry's racial abuse to Anton ferdinand and other issues. Do you not idolise our captain, leader and legend despite all that.

We must judge Sarri for footballing reasons not on past comments.

Sarri has had more than one chance in Italy. I won't outright root against him if he is appointed, but I'll be disappointed if we appoint a guy with such views. In reference to Terry, I respect the player for everything he did for the club, but he did something despicable in my opinion, so I will never respect him as a man.

at least when u appoint a new manager it gives you the hope he might take a star or 2 from his old club an also he might get rid of average players who are not good enough to grace the chelsea jersey anymore or ever were. zapacosta 1 of the biggest waists of money wev ever spent. fabregas not good enough any more. moses squad player at best.

drinkwater should never have been signed . morata looks like torres at cfc all over again best thing we can do with him is hope he imrpoves or use him as a swap deal for someone. crazy to think costa replaced drogs an we ran him out d door for a ppayer who couldn't get a game over the average benzema at madrid.
