Better give Hudson-Odoi a run of games. At 17 years old he's head and shoulders ahead of Pedro as a footballer. First player I'd sell in the summer would be Pedro. Offers nothing. If Conte can't see it then he's in the wrong sport. Same can be said for "running in treacle" Fabregas. Unless he's got his passing game on (which isn't very often nowadays) he's an absolute passenger. There's still an hour to get Mahrez haha.

Doesn’t matter if conte see’s It he will be gone soon himself so won’t care who stays or goes.

Hi Ed,
Nobody has mentioned Vergil Van Dijk of late. There's a lot of talk around the media at the moment that he's going to go. Do you think this might be to Chelsea rather than Liverpool, as Southampton would rather sell to us than them apparently?
I think if a player of his calibre is available you sign them, I was slightly disappointed in the Rudiger signing knowing that VVD was going to be available. Not saying Rudiger isn't a good player and I'll obviously get behind him if he plays, but Van Dijk is a top top centre back!
Thoughts Ed?

Chelsea Nick

{Ed002's Note - Southampton are aware if he is available there is interest from Chelsea and probably Arsenal still.}

1.) 05 Aug 2017 12:51:56
Do you know Ed if they will still do bussiness with Liverpool for VVD, they seemed to be favourites until the whole tapping up scenario. I don't expect you to know but i find it hard to believe they ended their interest in him. Thank you for all of the updates recently! .

{Ed018's Note - look through the Liverpool page. You will probably find your answer there}

2.) 05 Aug 2017 13:06:07
Vvd won't get first team football. that's why zouma went out on loan.

3.) 05 Aug 2017 13:22:42
Yeah there's a whole thread on the Pool page where Ed002 gave answers regarding Pool's dealings. Quite an interesting read.

4.) 05 Aug 2017 13:30:51
if he joins cfc . yes he will.
i don't think he will join tho.

5.) 05 Aug 2017 13:34:09
wht date and time Jackson?

6.) 05 Aug 2017 14:27:39
Date and time? Do you mean the thread on the Pool page? I think it was from yesterday on their Rumors page. Time stamp of the original post: "04 Aug 2017 10:15:05"

7.) 05 Aug 2017 12:55:52
Ok will do, appreciate the reply.

Hey Eds. First time I've been on this year so Happy New Year to you and everyone else on the site! Just a quickie, used the search bar but didn't see anything so thought I'd ask. There's a lot of rumours regarding Nicolas N'Koulou leaving Marseille this month as his contract runs out on the summer. Any truth that we're front runners. He's a decent signing for a small transfer fee which could mean we spend more elsewhere on other players!
He's the sort of player who would probably do well in the prem, but I'll be honest I'm still praying for Stones as unlikely as that transfer is haha.

Chelsea Nick

{Ed002's Note - Happy NY Nick. N'koulou was looked at by a number of sides including Arsenal, Lyon, Norwich, West Ham and Napoli with a view to a summer move. Marseille did expect interest from Lyon to lead to an offer but they may well be hedging their bets to pick him up when his contract runs out in the summer. Three clubs have held discussions with Marseille that could lead to an offer being made in January to take the player. Roma are very keen on adding another centre back in January, Chelsea who have been having on-going discussions over two other matters and Lazio. Lazio have told Marseille that they are looking for a pre-contract agreement to take the player when he is out of contract in the summer - but Marseille has explained he would be available for a small fee now if they are interested - and selling is clearly the preference of the club. Norwich and Arsenal have watched the player again this season and it is not out of the question that either could step in and make an offer.}

Hey Ed,
I tried the search but couldn't find a recent answer from yourself. I've seen on ssn that Fabregas will almost certainly be leaving Barca this summer, and he has a £30m release clause. Do you think Chelsea May bid as a cheaper option to Pogba? I think he'd be amazing next to Matic!

Chelsea Nick

{Ed018's Note - I'm pretty certain last time Ed002 mentioned it there was no interest in Fabregas from Chelsea. I believe it was mentioned that City were interested in him}

12 May 2014 21:39:41
Looks like we're getting Costa! Few agreed for £32m. Made my day!

Chelsea Nick

1.) Where is this coming from? I would not expect anything serious until after his season is over surely?

2.) Ssn have been covering it for the last 2 hours. A £32m fee has been agreed, with the signing to be formally announced at the beginning of June, after the Champions League final and before the World Cup. Looks like we're sorting things out quickly, he's the missing piece and we've got him so I'm pleased as punch!

Can I just say as someone who hasn't posted in a while, I'm glad to see Kurt proving all his doubters wrong from earlier on this season. I never doubted him, he's a top top centre back with only a couple better than him in the league in my opinion. Putting some big displays in of late!

Chelsea Nick

1.) 10 Nov 2019 10:47:40
Absolutely agree Nick.

2.) 10 Nov 2019 23:13:40
Finally some happy posts from you Nick. You were right pissed off last season :D.

Can't wait for Zouma and Reece James to come back for next season. Both should walk in to the side in my opinion. I feel Zouma is an absolute elite CB that would possibly start for France if he were to become our first choice CB (which I feel he should be) . He's got pace, strong, one of the best headers of the ball in the prem, has an underrated football ability, and is a beast in the tackle. With Reece James it's incredible to think this guy is 19, he's built like a tank and made for the prem. physically you wouldn't change a thing with him if you were designing an elite RB.

He's a Rolls Royce of a player, proven by the trust shown in him to even play centre mid this season. I personally can't wait to see him start. I've loved watching Azpi play over the years, he's been a great servant, but unfortunately his time at RB is done now. Reece James will do to him what he did to Ashley Cole. Exciting times ahead! I just hope we have a manager in charge who trusts the youngsters who deserve to play!

1.) 25 Apr 2019 09:39:19
I’ve necer been convinced of Zouma, been proved wrong with recent form. Looked brilliant, but Sarri likes s ball player as one of defenders so doubt it’ll be Zouma rudiger.

2.) 25 Apr 2019 14:37:56
I’d love a back four of James, Zouma, Christensen and Chilwell.

3.) 25 Apr 2019 20:07:58
Well my hope Matt is that Sarri isn’t there to be honest. Regardless of how he finishes the season I’d like a different approach next season. He picks players on reputation and not form and potential, that’s my issue. Let’s be honest he’s only played CHO because he threatened to leave and Sarri was made to look stupid with the England call up and his Europa League performances.
If I could have 1 player back it would be Ake. He’s the ball player we need in my opinion.
Back for of Chilwell, Zouma, Ake, James would be exceptional!

18 Mar 2019 08:01:36
Is he going to work out that RLC offers more than barkley or Kovacic anytime soon? It's getting embarrassing now! Some serious weaknesses in our team unfortunately. Azpilicueta is fastly becoming the worst RB in the prem! I don't think I've seen a player decline so quickly, Reece James HAS to play next year but no doubt we'll sell him because that's just what Chelsea do! How CHO isn't starting is baffling. Fingers crossed this man isn't in charge of us next season. Most boring I've seen is play for a long long time and he's so stubborn. I thought he'd turned the corner but unfortunately not. Out for me still.

Chelsea Nick

1.) 18 Mar 2019 09:59:07
Nick, you have expressed reasonable views but I think we have to judge him at the end of the season.

Can I ask my fellow posters a question. if we qualify for the Champions League will have been a successful season?

2.) 18 Mar 2019 18:13:24
Yes if we qualify for Champion's League I would think it would 'successful enough' given circumstances, not least fact that strength of City and Liverpool this season meant winning it unlikely. And we were unlucky not to win Carabao League Cup and may well have qualified for Champions League by winning Europa Cup (ie a trophy)

3.) 18 Mar 2019 19:45:28
I agree JBS and that’s another reason why I think we should make any judgements at the end of the season.

Won't be posting on here anymore lads unfortunately. Ed's never approve my posts anymore so I will wish you all luck.

Chelsea Nick

1.) 19 Jan 2019 19:32:18
I’m glad that’s over I know it’s easy sitting here with our opinions but trying different things/ players wouldn’t hurt if we can all see players out of form how can’t he.

2.) 19 Jan 2019 19:41:56
ya danny fair point that was painfull.

3.) 19 Jan 2019 19:42:47
Good jobs ed. No time for rubbish to be posted.

4.) 19 Jan 2019 19:45:03
Nick, may I ask what type of posts they are? I’ve posted some super negative and toxic posts before and they’ve made it through. Maybe your posts just aren’t making it through.

5.) 19 Jan 2019 19:51:05
i posted a few rants during the game thankfully edds didn't post them im usually calm that was frustrating do. sorry edds for posting nonsense.

{Ed0333's Note - it’s ok mate, I reply with nonsense all the time I don’t make apologies for it lol.

6.) 19 Jan 2019 20:12:48
haha yeah i no but i guess i don't want to be too negative it is a banter site after all.

7.) 19 jan 2019 21:59:03
Yeah, I'm with Nick - the attitude of posters on this site is perfectly demonstrated by CFCShak's post: all you lot want to hear is your own views regurgitated - no time for any other view. You lot remind me of all those closed-minded Brexiters - wouldn't surprise me if you're one and the same.

8.) 19 Jan 2019 22:01:26
Ed033 after you’ve teased with the comment we’ll be in better spirits come the end of the transfer window anything you’d like to share 😂.

{Ed0333's Note - nope

9.) 19 Jan 2019 22:05:14
Rich coming from you CFCShak, you post nothing but rubbish. Only guy on here who rates Jorginho. I posted suggesting Sarri out with my reasons as to why he’s not up to the job. Wasn’t approved for some reason.

10.) 19 Jan 2019 23:35:48
I follow my team regardless of the situation. MDW you carry on praising opposition players and criticise your own team, you are the most negative fan i've known on here. Have you ever been satisfied? Your always the first for managers to get sacked. Stop being an instant success fan and pray for stability. Its more than the manager that is the problem.

Nick you care to share who you want as our manager given that Sarri isn't up for the task? Your another poster that posts rubbish after rubbish. Get a grip son. We are 4th, we've got a transfer windown ahead of us. You seem like a depressed fan, non stop negatuve rubbish. Go supoort liverpoop or Man city if you can't take the bad results of late. You fans have had it easy, you should have supported chelsea pre roman era.

Sorry if i've offended anyone but these childish posts have annoyed me.

11.) 20 Jan 2019 22:22:04
I rate Jorginho, yes he's having trouble adapting but that's expected. Far out guys give it a break. Okay so we sack Sarri, what next? Who do you suggest we bring in? We all want attacking football but we don't have the players to play it, it's as simple as that. Any manager that comes in will face the same problems and will need to go through the same transition phase that Sarri is having to go through currently.

I get the whole piece around not rotating but see it from Sarris POV he drops Willian, Alonso etc and watch the so called "senior" players throw their toys out of the pram and start undermining him, case in point was Conte with Willian.

We've been dictated by player power for far too long and unfortunately we don't have any leaders left in the squad to pull it back into line Ala Terry and Lampard. Sarri will get the players he wants and move on the players that don't fit his system until that happens reserve judgement, fact of the matter is we aren't the team we were 5-10 years ago and we are going through a transition phase which will take time, have faith!

08 Jan 2019 23:42:34
Just a bit of fun. Be totally realistic otherwise it's pointless haha. Wondered what people's starting XI would be at the end of the transfer window if it was up to you?
Mine:

GK: Kepa
LB: Emerson
CB: Rudiger
CB: Luiz (I'd like Koulibaly but won't happen)
RB: Azpi (if we sign Hysaj he'll push him close)
CDM: Kante
CM: Paredes/ Barrela (both look neat players)
CM: RLC (I know he isn't fit right now)
LW: Hazard
ST: Icardi
RW: Hudson-Odoi

So as negative as people think I am, there's actually only 2 new signings in that starting XI. I actually think we're not far off at all! Obviously the controversial decision is Kante to CDM, but that's just my choice, I honestly don't rate Jorginho in the slightest I'm never going to be a fan.
I think there will be a lot of players leaving the club so it'll be an interesting period up until the end of the month as they will need replacing?

Chelsea Nick

1.) 09 Jan 2019 02:21:03
I don’t rate Jorginho either mate, unfortunately being critical will cause people to think you’re negative. What can you do.

{Ed0333's Note - maybe the adjective is ‘objective’ and not negative?

2.) 09 Jan 2019 02:46:48
Kepa
Azpi Rudi Luiz Alonso/ Chilwell
RLC Kante Kovacic
Hudson-Odoi Higuain Hazard.

3.) 09 Jan 2019 08:59:49
i think jorginho is a really lovely footballer and our midfield is 10 times better with him kante and barkley/ kova/ rlc dis season. d only thing we lack is a bit of extra creativity.

4.) 09 Jan 2019 12:09:27
After selecting Hudson-Odi last night I was disappointed he wasn't given a target man in the box so he could put in his crosses. Sadly, I am not a fan of Jorghino either, not in the same class as Fabregas in his heyday with his weighted passes. With him there is far too much short passing sideways or ten yards forward and I prefer Kante in his old position not going forward as much.

To me Barkley is now fully fit and no more than a good quality sub, preferring Kovacic but with him, his inability to score means he will always be vulnerable if we can get an attacking midfielder who scores. It was a good performance against a useful team up to their ten yard area and then it is was the same as every other game, we have to buy in January someone with an eye for goal.

5.) 09 Jan 2019 13:39:57
I really don’t understand why people seem to want to play Kante as a CDM. He’s at his best when he’s played as a CM (not as advanced as he’s playing now) . We saw under Conte when he first signed that playing CDM limited him massively, it was only after Conte switched him and Matic that we saw him at his best.

I think Jorginho is a good player. He hasn’t been at his best recently but I think that coincides with our decline in general play. I think with a new ST and maybe another winger or CHO playing more regularly we’d see him being able to pick out more Fàbregas-esque passes. Both Willian and Hazard (for the most part) want balls into their feet, so we’re not seeing as many balls played long over the top for them to run onto.

I’m less worried about Rudiger as Zouma is by far our best CB and will return alongside Christensen hopefully. It’s RLC and CHO we’ll miss. Fingers crossed Pulisic gets off to a flying start hey!

As a qualified physio I can tell you that you don’t need to have scans for a suspected ruptured Achilles. I could tell you if it’s ruptured in 30 seconds through testing his ankle. I’ve seen so many reports in papers today about the “suspected injury” that are purely guesswork and half of what they’re saying isn’t accurate for an Achilles injury. A young, fit player like RLC should pretty much make a full recovery if he is rehabbed correctly. He’ll be out the final regardless as an ankle sprain is 4-6 weeks minimum. Can’t see us winning the final to be honest. Roman has messed up big time making the team play this friendly. Could quite easily have been done in pre-season!

Who says Reece James is going to be rotating? I think you might just see a natural progression and takeover of James at RB, pretty much exactly how Azpi took Cole’s position. If you play James I think he’ll be RB for England in a year or twos time. Now the issue really is whether Sarri will give him a chance. Sarri dragged his heels over CHO and RLC all season. Now my personal preference would be Sarri leaves, regardless of the Europa League outcome. I want Frank Lampard in charge personally. I just look at tonight’s game and I can see why Sarri has never won anything. It’s alright having these amazing youngsters coming through, but Sarri isn’t going to play them. Time for change throughout the club, if we want to include the youngsters which we will have to now then Sarri isn’t the man to lead this club. Bring back Frank to his rightful home.
