This is where we find out how much Romelu Lukaku wants to emulate his idol Didier Drogba. Number 11 shirt free too?

i still think he will go UTD.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - it looks that way}

07 Jul 2017 23:11:55
not. being funny but if i supported a club and they come in for me. id go in a. heart beat. proves how much influence an agent has. poor form!

07 Jul 2017 23:14:52
ed018 has ed002 given u an update by any chance? ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - no not quite, but I'm confident in saying he will end up at United}

07 Jul 2017 23:18:13
Yep, sounds like lukaku to united is a done deal. Left it too late again it seems.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2017 23:19:00
whts your opinion on this. reports stating he wants a move to chelsea but his agent wants a move to. utd. whts your thought on agents just worries about there money and not the intrest of the players future.

I'm sure we have a plan b. Who, is anyone's guess. Got to love the ups and downs of it all.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - someone needs to find the list Ed002 put a month or two ago. It should show the forwards Chelsea are interested in}

07 Jul 2017 23:22:50
sorry my last was for you ed018? forgot to add it in :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - I think his mind is made up at this point. If Chelsea really wanted him they should've had this wrapped up by now. It was no secret he wanted to come back}

08 Jul 2017 01:03:25
Oh dear. I've just checked that post from last month, and it said that Chelsea "won't be held to ransom" over Belotti, which suggests that he isn't going to happen with the prices that they are asking, that we "remain interested" in Mbappe, that interest waned in Morata and that we remain "very keen" on Dembele.
Please tel me that you have heard that we are likely to go for someone other than one of those two kids, Ed 018? Neither are at the level to lead our line alone for a season. Dembele I don't even think is much better than Abraham.

Worried on the forward front.

So we matched UTDs offer. that's a great way to start getting Lukaku back in the BLUE.

My opinion, for what it's worth of this page is, there seems to be a lot of anxiety amougst Chelsea fans when it comes to transfers compared to other team pages on this site. This then leads to repeat questions and the ed's getting frustrated. And obviously the bulk of fans losing this resource. I have used this page as my primary source of reliable information for about 8/ 9 years and it's the same every year. I include myself in this of course, I check the page every 10 minutes during the transfer window to see if anything I don't already know has been postedπŸ˜‚ I think we really need to relax and enjoy the fact of how lucky we are to be supporting our wonderful club and this point in its existence and trust it will work out as it more often than not does. I agree ud swear we were nearly relegated the panic people get into. wel ed up signing bakayoko and ridigar and possibly sandro and that would be great buisness and improvements the problem is replacing costa should he go.

Sky sources: Chelsea have matched Manchester United's Β£75m bid for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.

Also read there was sell on fee included which is reported 25% ( doubtful ) but that will be included in our offer so we save money that way, APPARENTLY.

I am expecting a statement of intent from us after the Lukaku palava. Morata and Rodriguez.
By the way if Llorente's rumours are true I am happy as a bench choice. I really like him and he is fantastic in the air.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

07 Jul 2017 19:39:51
out of the 48 strikers to play in the premier league last season guess who ran the least amount of km, yep that was lukaku. out of the 48 he also came 42nd for sprints per game, its official he's lazy, that combined with his famous first touch and he is rubbish.

at a big club you can't stand in the box and let your team run for you while throwing your hands up and down, then tap in someone else's good cross, this deal alone may have just won us the league again, if he goes to utd im happy and confident we will win the league.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

07 Jul 2017 20:58:53
Confident we will win the league if united sign lukaku. Guess we don't have to spend a penny then!

Come on in fairness, we can pull all the stats out the bag to say he is rubbish but his primary job, as a striker, is to put the ball in the back of the net and he does that pretty well.

With the Costa situation we have to buy a first choice striker. Granted there isn't many available out there but there's plenty of time to find one.

Agree0 Disagree2

07 Jul 2017 23:54:31
if you watched lukaku last season and you watched chelsea you could clearly see he's all wrong for us, he scored 26 goals for everton last season and 6 of them were from crosses, as it happens chelsea last season crossed the ball into the box the least in the league, he played on the shoulder of the last man last season, when costa would drop deep and play with hazard and co.

he would also press from the front, and when he dropped deep hazard and pedro would run in behind it worked perfect for us, if we sign lukaku our whole game would change, we don't suit him and he don't suit us, regardless of if we all rate him or not, its a bad choice, morata is similar to costa in his pressing, running the channels and dropping, so our title winning system would be the same, if you didn't watch a lot of chelsea or lukaku last season then i wouldn't expect you to know this stuff.

Lukaku to UTD done according to Phil Neville, bullet dodged in my opinion - what do we think lads?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

07 Jul 2017 18:44:04
Bullet dodged? He's one of the best young strikers in the world, plus he's proven he can hack the premier league. his goals to games ratio speaks for itself really. I don't understand why people hate on him so much.

Agree1 Disagree2

07 Jul 2017 19:12:07
Hardly hating on him - seem to remember Eds saying him leaving was because he had upset someone at the club and I don't think he's worth Β£75 million quid! Great finisher, not disputing that, no first touch though.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2017 19:24:15
I think he will be a huge hit anywhere he goes, sadly its not to us. Anyway there are other strikers available, so I won't lose my sleep about him.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2017 23:42:12
A striker's job is to finish not to have a beautiful first touch. That's for the Matas, Hazards and Silvas.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2017 16:40:44
1. We could have wrapped deals early. Do not believe in myths about we do not know what is going on and the rest. No smoke without fire
2. Every time we wrapped deals early we were successful
3. Every we did not we flopped
4. We have not replaced players who left
5. What is the transfer model we are following? Buy young talent and sell them for more money and keep hiring managers until we win something.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

07 Jul 2017 18:29:08
Last season we got Luiz and Alonso on last day.
Yes we should get it done early, but as long as we get players Conte wanted will do it.

07 Jul 2017 14:37:42
if we have missed out on lukaku, sometimes in football things happen for a reason i remember a few situations in the past, i remember barcalona wanted david beckham but he went to madrid so Barcelona signed ronaldinho instead, i remember us buying torres who was our first choice transfer target, and liverpool signed suarez, we would have been better off missing out on torres and signing suarez for 23 million from ajax, there 10 other strikers in world football who i would prefer over lukaku, i think its a blessing plain and clear blessing.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

07 Jul 2017 14:36:42
No one really knows what goes on in the back ground. If it was easy as some people make out to sign a player don't you think we would have do it! It takes me 6 months to negotiate a phone contract and we're talking 50 quid not 50 million. πŸ˜‚.

07 Jul 2017 14:35:08
Hi guys.
Great site.
Personally im pleased lukaku is not coming back. I just wish we could break the habit of selling on players and then trying to buy them back.
We have the best striker in the prem in costa. Shame about his attitude.
But apart from the strikers already mentioned who else (realistically) would you guys like us to be trying to sign?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

07 Jul 2017 15:21:44
Mauro Icardi would be my first choice. I got slated on here last time I mentioned him but personally I think he would be the perfect choice. Technically great, clinical finisher, great in the air and full of aggression. No way in hell Inter would sell him tho, but hey I can at least dream.

Agree2 Disagree0

07 Jul 2017 15:54:46
Why bot icardi, I think would work great with hazard Pedro. I'm also glad lukaku is going united.

07 Jul 2017 13:01:19
It's amazing how many Chelsea fans I speak to didn't want Lukaku, apparently he was a donkey with a rubbish first touch. Now that it looks like we won't be getting him and they are furious, how can we let him slip through our fingers again?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

07 Jul 2017 14:38:17
Arrogance is costly, mate. They are not getting it if you want top you have to pay. That's why Man Utd got Pogba.

07 Jul 2017 09:46:34
One thing is for sure and that is everyone knows we're in desperate need of a striker and we'll be forced to heavily over pay. I'm not sure what is going on with our transfers but everything (from the outside) looks a struggle to get over the Line (Bakayoko, Rudiger etc) . If we have our targets why not just go for them immediately. When we signed Hazard, Cesc, Costa we got them wrapped up quickly. Yes there is almost two whole months of the window left, but we just seem to be dithering around and if we're not careful we're going to be left with the Benteke's and Llorente's of this world. I'm sure it will all work out fine come 1st September but things could be looking better as of now. If by September we have Belotti/ Morata, Bakayoko, Sandro, Rudiger and possibly a new rwb to challenge Moses I'll be more than happy. Let's just hope Conte doesn't get frustrated with our transfer business and decide to walk as that would be a disaster.

Lets go for kane. We are linked with Alli too.

Agree0 Disagree1

07 Jul 2017 13:22:43
I would love Kane, but there is absolutely zero chance he will leave Spurs for us (or any other team) . I would really want us to go and spend big either on Lewandowski, Aubemayang or Bellotti.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jul 2017 14:01:28
Aubemayang sureley has to be a serious option.

07 Jul 2017 14:33:20
been listening to talk sport today and they all believe that Conte could walk out with frustration regarding transfers. he has done it before with Juventus.

07 Jul 2017 08:48:04
Ed (whichever Ed happens to be able to help), I've got a question. Reports have come out that we're selling Chalobah, and Ed002 has said on the United page that the Matic deal will go through once we're able to wrap up Bakayoko for ourselves.

It seems we might end up with Kante, Fabregas and Bakayoko as CM options if the proposed deals happen. This would mean we have no depth whatsoever, and yet we'll be competing in 4 competitions. Surely the club are targeting another midfielder in that case? Otherwise we're setting ourselves up for a repeat of the 10th place finish.

Thanks for any help. I think a lot of Chelsea fans could use some good news right about now.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note - all I can add to this is Chelsea do not want to sell Chalobah.}

07 Jul 2017 09:44:54
Thats good to hear hopefully they can come to an agreement thankyou for the update mate.

07 Jul 2017 08:23:37
Brutally honest here. If I were Conte I would give them 2 weeks to bring in the players we are interested in or else byebye.

07 Jul 2017 14:32:07
the worst thing is if the chelsea board don't do there job properly and can't get deals done, and city or utd spend a lot and win the league conte would be sacked by that same board, who are not giving him the tools to do the job, his stock is so high he could walk into any other job in europe, we need him, he doesn't need us .

07 Jul 2017 08:03:29
What on earth is wrong with our people? Dither, dither and dither. We are becoming another Arsenal for heaven's sake.

07 Jul 2017 10:16:57
It's only just July.

Agree1 Disagree1

07 Jul 2017 10:44:28
It's alright saying it's only July, but if we don't act quickly all of our top targets will move somewhere else and we'll be left with the scraps no one wanted. This is the problem.

Agree1 Disagree1

07 Jul 2017 11:58:49
It is only July BUT we are back on Monday for light training and off on tour and any manager at our level with the season ahead would ideally want his new players in situ to get them 'Chelsea ready'. We seemed to get off to a flyer and stalled although I am adamant Conte did not want Lukaku as I just cannot see him being his kind of player. I would gladly have Morata and as suggested earlier, if we are struggling, Cavani would be an ideal acquisition for a couple of years. Good in the air and with both feet, the target man we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2017 15:59:12
Another arsenal? What win titles?! ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2017 07:02:31
What is going behind the scenes is this just media hype BS. just seems other clubs stealing a march on us. we have to believe targets will be signed or will be a painful season. c'mon chelsea.

we are linked with Benteke today . so nothing to worry about.
absolute joke!

Agree0 Disagree1

07 Jul 2017 08:28:25
Absolute joke if you believe everything you read. seriously the doom and gloom on this board is ridiculous. I understand people wanting signings and refreshing pages every other minute for news however there are weeks left of the transfer window - the club will make signings, whoever they are need to be supported not bitched about.

Agree4 Disagree0

07 Jul 2017 08:43:39
Yes. It wouldn't it have been better to get the players in before pre season and definitely before we fly to the Far East! The board knew who Conte wanted at the end of the season but have failed to act on them. The dithering and the complancy by the board is shocking. Tell me this. Why hasn't the Bakayoko deal been signed off, why's it all gone quiet on a sandro - list goes on mate. We knew players would be leaving but have yet failed to replace them. Yes weeks left but imo best to get them in and settled before training starts.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jul 2017 08:54:51
steve, this is not the first year this has happened. failing to get our top targets and losing thm to other clubs has been going on for the last few years.
we have become more like a business. more worried about saving and making money.
we have sold a fair few people already and a lot of talk about pthers leaving. only player we have brought in is Willy, the squad is getting smaller and smaller. and not wrapping up deals is worrying.
Everton have identified there targets and got thm. why can't we do the same!

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2017 04:33:12
If all else fails (Lukaku, Morata, Belotti), why not try PSG's hand at Cavani? 30 years old, big, strong and has some pace to him. Surely would be more useful than Llorente, if the rumors are to be believed.
