Allegedly Chelsea did bid 50m€ for Mahrez.

antibot

1.) 31 Aug 2017 18:45:56
Don't believe it. BEin sports the one reporting it and they haven't exactly been reliable. Said Ox was going to sign a contract with us and said Coutinho was going to Barcelona. Nobody even knows where the damn guy is 😂. Would love him but can't see it.

2.) 31 Aug 2017 21:26:21
believe it when i see it.

14 Aug 2017 09:16:36
Ed sorry for bothering you but last 2 or 3 days they've been some rumours about Chelsea interest in Ivan Perisic. Have you heard anything about it?

antibot

{Ed002's Note - Summer enquiries about the availability of Inter's winger Ivan Perisic were made of, but not by, Chelsea, Manchester United and Napoli by his agent who asked for clarity over the arrival of another winger at Inter. Spurs put an offer on the table for the player as a means of opening discussions with Inter - but they were not interested in selling. The player wants to stay and the club want him to stay but they had a major financial issue to resolve by June 30 and were offering him to English clubs at €10M off the high asking price in order to get a commitment for a sale in June. That never happened and the price went up and to date Manchester United has failed to match it.}

1.) 14 Aug 2017 12:39:28
Thanks a lot ed!

09 Aug 2017 14:36:41
Ed002 I am not asking you about transfers often, but considering that Alex Sandro will be very difficult to sign for Chelsea, are there other left backs that Chelsea could try to sign instead?

antibot

{Ed002's Note - Yes, there are indeed other left backs that Chelsea might look to sign but their preference is for Alex Sandro. Or perhaps BR will stay?}

1.) 09 Aug 2017 14:46:03
Baba Rahman has a demon of a cross, just putting that out there lol.

2.) 09 Aug 2017 14:51:18
Think it would be good to give baba a proper chance, I know he was suspect at defending but is still young and does have potential.

3.) 09 Aug 2017 15:03:55
might be better at Lwb too. still hoping Sandro tho but looks difficult.

4.) 09 Aug 2017 16:50:15
Good to know they haven't given up on Sandro, but think it will be very difficult to prise him away from Juve. Rahman is overcoming a serious injury isn't he? Would have thought another loan would be on the cards.

{Ed002's Note - He is one of the players that are not expected to be at the club next season.}

5.) 09 Aug 2017 20:26:13
Ed002, would you consider telling us who the other left back chelsea are looking at please? If they cannot secure Sandro? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - The want Sandro.}

6.) 09 Aug 2017 21:35:19
Rahman probably wouldn't be the worst option at LWB if he got fit. Good crossing, explosive athlete, good dribbling and aggressive. Positionally he needs some work and guidance, but that problem would be lessened by him playing wingback opposed to fullback.

7.) 09 Aug 2017 21:21:53
So going full out for him then! Will Baba Rahman stay should they be unable to prise Sandro away?

{Ed002's Note - Not necessarily.}

8.) 09 Aug 2017 21:46:35
Interesting that we're still persuing him after Juve have come out numerous times saying he isn't leaving although we have heard that before from them with previous players. Glad the board is still trying though as he's been the one most fans have been excited about. As a lot of people have said i reckon this could go down to the last few days of the window but it'd be worth it if we can get him.

02 Aug 2017 00:55:45
Chelsea had one of the worst transfer windows in last 15-20 years . I can believe Drinkwater rumours.

antibot

1.) 02 Aug 2017 03:38:00
* had?
The window isn't even over yet mate. Judge the window when it shuts.

2.) 02 Aug 2017 03:51:12
stop being a troll antibot. you are always at it.

3.) 02 Aug 2017 07:11:28
I am not trolling for sure.Whoever understands football and supports Chelsea should be worried. And I'm not worried about lack of signing or breaking the bank for marquee signings. I'm worried about quality of the squad.That's it.We have probably one of the best coaches in the world and I'm also afraid that we might lose him because the board is unable to attract serious players.

4.) 02 Aug 2017 08:27:46
What? We've sold off fringe players from last year, added a few new faces who would grace pretty much a lot of the top teams in Europe, wouldn't actually say we've gone backwards or anything. A few new addictions and we'll be fine. Jesus man, some people thinking this is the worst window we've had? Would love to have seen you when we were signing the likes of Jes Hogh, Robert Fleck and the likes. You'd have a nervous breakdown.

Unable to attract serious players? Morata not a serious player? Bakayoko not a serious player? Hazard not a serious player. We've got "serious" players already at the club. Jeez man get a grip . Ed002 and the others, I now know why you get so p**sed off with this page.

Hurry up end of August.

{Ed001's Note - I wonder how people coped when Chelsea were outside the top flight?}

5.) 02 Aug 2017 08:49:11
CFCAdam I can see that football is not your sport(perhaps baseball or cricket).Or maybe you are stubborn teenager.You obviously have no idea what dressing room means and how important it is. Morata had only 20 appearances for Real Madrid last season(that's fringe player).Bakayoko is promising kid with no PL experience( recovering from surgery).Whatever you think about Costa he is top player.So is Matic.So please stick to your baseball or cricket.
Guys like you will start nagging first like 2 years ago.

{Ed001's Note - Bakayoko has plenty of Champions League experience and is hardly a kid, he is 22. I think you need to stop with the idiotic insults or go back to twitter with the other trolls.}

6.) 02 Aug 2017 09:02:30
Mate, it's beggars belief. I suppose a successful side like us attracts the football manager and Fifa players and expects us to replicate whatever goes on in the game, in real life. Crazy!

But yeah don't get me wrong I love seeing us where we are today, but some days I'd take the 90's all over again! Spencer, Peacock. Hitchcock! When all we did was live in hope that we beat United and Liverpool. We knew we'd always get a result at Three Point Lane. 😉😉. Miss those days!

{Ed001's Note - long gone sadly when people just enjoyed the game for its own sake.}

7.) 02 Aug 2017 09:09:39
This is the kind of post (and there seems to have been more than a few of these the past few weeks, from various members) that really gets my goat. Full of negativity, condescending and more importantly, incorrect.

If this is the kind of post that gets published, I dread to think what else gets sent in.

I'm going to take a step back from contributing to the boards until the end of the transfer window as it feels like wading through a treacle river of despair!

Best of luck Ed's, I appreciate your work. :)

Steve.

8.) 02 Aug 2017 09:47:02
Far fetched post again Antibot and similar to a previous one from you. I would take it easy mate, I understand your concerns also hinder around our squad depth and let's be honest it is a concern but we still have a few weeks to get players in. I'm sure Chelsea are working on it.

I would completely disagree that this has been the worst transfer window. Morata, Bakayoko and Rudiger are great additions who will work brilliantly alongside Hazard, Pedro, willian, kante etc. Have faith mate.

9.) 02 Aug 2017 09:47:43
yes, we have sold a few. but the players we have brought it are exciting young talent. still 20 odd days left. don't worry.

10.) 02 Aug 2017 13:03:41
I've looked like a negative nancy for a week or so on here and looking at them now i can understand why it's annoyed people. Players we've brought in isn't the problem for me, it's what we've sold. Ake and Chalobah were hard to take since i really thought we could've needed them this year and especially since they're homegrown from our academy. I know they wanted to leave, and i know the board will replace them. But it's fair to say Conte is maybe the most loved manager we've ever had by our fans and seeing him leave would be painful. That's why i worry maybe our squad isn t good enough to compete in 4 competitions. But like you said there's still a lot of time left in the window so i'll tone it down and judge when it closes.

11.) 02 Aug 2017 15:11:39
move to block antibot haha. i've been back and forward over the years, though i forgot my login and just worked it out again so im back

we lierally get all of our top targets and its the worst window ever!?!?! get a grip

yes we need a couple of wing backs and a cm and even then we might be a bit light up front.

but worst transfer window ever lol. malouda anyone?

{Ed001's Note - you don't even need to go back that far though, what about the season before last? That was a bit of a mess and it ended in the team meltdown. This season has been difficult rather than terrible, I would say.}

12.) 02 Aug 2017 18:14:36
Well in Jimmy, shak, Adam and Ed and . I fully agree.

We've a load of money in our pocket, we have champions league, and a winning season to build on. I expect a busy month.

Antibot, try to be decent.

13.) 02 Aug 2017 23:41:21
relax boys we signed a back up keeper for free and sold begovic for 10 million he never looked good for chelsea so dat was good buisness. bakayoko replaces matic in the squad rudiger and christianson were added to replace terry an zouma . morata as costas replacement . we have d likes of boga am fabregas willian batshuayi etc all on our bench possibly wev a good squad confident squad aswell don't see what all the panic stations are about.

14.) 03 Aug 2017 20:05:50
It may just be me but I'd bet a fair few of you on here feel the same as I do; I remember the pre-roman days (not too well mind, he bought the club when I was 11) and being excited for the season regardless who we signed, I still feel the same now. I would like to think our club would remain competitive without paying crazy pogba/ neymar fees as we are ran responsibly. I don't like the thought of our club/ our fans being bemused at a lack of transfer activity when last season we won the league? If it's not broken - don't fix it! We all know we need a few players to bolster the squad but I couldn't really care less if we sign anyone between now and the end of the window or not, I'm proud we won't pay over the odds for players and proud that we are reinventing our reputation from the days of throwing money at problems but that's just my opinion. From the cradle to the grave!

18 Jul 2017 23:09:33
18 players have left Chelsea in last 6 months. Minimum 5 of them has to be replaced. Of those 5, 3 were homegrown. We have signed 3 players none of them is a homegrown. To have squad of 25 players you need at least 8 homegrown players. At the moment we have only 5 or 6 and none of our potential targets (except Moussa Dembele) is homegrown. I'm wondering how they think to compete in 4 different competitions without possibility to have 25 men squad?

antibot

1.) 19 Jul 2017 01:04:45
Hey Antibot, a number of Our Players are capable of playing a number of roles/ positions within the Team so having a Squad of 25 is probably unlikely.

Rudiger can play CB or RB.
Azpilicueta can play CB, RB, LB.
Alonso can play LB or CB.
Pedro WF or ST.

I'm not saying they are equally as strong in each position but can do a job there.

This means a slightly smaller squad is workable and players are more likely to get Game Time which should help for a Happier Squad.

I think 2 players for each position let alone 2 equally strong players for each position is unrealistic.

2.) 19 Jul 2017 08:44:22
antibot, it depends on what competition (PL / CL) you are referring to. maybe, in addition to possible signings, U21 players will be utilised where necessary.

Good game, one point from Liverpool away is good enough for especially that we played really well.

antibot

1.) 25 Nov 2017 20:56:16
On my way back from scouse land and although I enjoyed the game a thought a draw was a good and fair result, I can’t help but think we missed an opportunity to turn them over.
We had a couple of players that were not on top of there game but I can’t put my finger on why I’m NOT happy with a point away from home against the scousers!

2.) 26 Nov 2017 16:17:32
I think you just have to look at Liverpool's defence to see why - every time we attacked we looked like scoring - their defence is truly awful. Did Conte get the balance right between attacking their weak defence and countering the blistering pace of their attack? We will never know.

18 Nov 2017 17:15:52
If MU doesn't win tonight we will be second.

1.) 18 Nov 2017 18:41:52
On my way back fro today’s match. Superb all round performance and a good warm up for our Champs league midweek game.
I have said it before but I do think it’s worth repeating, this lad Morata reminds me so much of the King.
So many good performances and I’m still convinced we will be the team to put pressure on City as the season progresses.
I leave on Monday afternoon for the Carrier bags game. I understand the booze is cheap but the food is very average. Looks like I will have to drink more than eat!

2.) 18 Nov 2017 19:23:18
Enjoy Tom mate ya lucky git.

3.) 18 Nov 2017 20:38:29
Totally agree TomB, that same touch, movement and laconic style.

4.) 19 Nov 2017 01:28:50
Elvis did have a sweet left foot to Tom I think your right.

5.) 19 Nov 2017 08:01:04
I was at the game yesterday too tom my first game since the birth of my daughter unfortunately only get to go to the odd mainly away game I admire your dedication mate.

6.) 19 Nov 2017 09:13:12
Love it gianfranco!
To be honest blinky, I don’t fancy this journey at all (stuck in Kiev airport for far to long awaiting connecting flight) but for many years I was a workaholic and I didn't spend the time with my family I should have done, so these trips help my relationship with my sons. Football can do many things!

7.) 19 Nov 2017 11:12:55
Great stuff Tom. Lucky you, I wish could do the same.

8.) 20 Nov 2017 09:11:10
TomB, u are indeed a Chelsea fan. Travelling for all these games- it ain't easy.

9.) 20 Nov 2017 13:41:07
I’ve now got plenty of time on my hands and I do know I’m incredibly fortunate but there have been many days when I’ve been seriously p###ed off. The worst being the journey from hell back from Moscow!

05 Nov 2017 16:44:25
Kante is really making a difference.

antibot

1.) 05 Nov 2017 17:13:44
Pressing high and fast, covers ground in front of him, missed him.

2.) 05 Nov 2017 19:51:34
Thank God for this result, Chelsea played really well. Kante has four legs, Fabregas played really well too. Very good reaction.

3.) 05 Nov 2017 20:11:49
Kante makes such a huge difference.

28 Oct 2017 19:09:11
Fabregas is not the best defensive player, but at least he doesn't lose the ball in dangerous area.
Bakayoko is a real liability.

antibot

1.) 28 Oct 2017 19:47:53
give him time.

2.) 28 Oct 2017 19:58:38
He still young and will improve in that aspect for certain, although i can agree he can be frustrating to watch. With Fabregas we saw both sides of him, whenever we were in their half dominating possession you can see the impact he has, the flicks with hazard and movement around the box is great and especially with Pedro in the squad we look fluent going forward. But without the ball he struggles, defensive awareness and positioning is something he really lacks in. He works hard but he just isn't a defensive minded player.

3.) 28 Oct 2017 20:30:52
No Bakayoko is no liability, I think he's adapting, his role and movement in Chelsea is very different from what he is used to in Monaco. Just be a bit patient him, he will hit top form in a little while. Remember he is just 23.

4.) 28 Oct 2017 20:32:39
Bakayoko is also adapting to the EPL.

5.) 28 Oct 2017 21:32:14
I also believe that he will improve in the future. Problem is that many thought that he is a finished product even upgrade. Simply he still unreliable. Hopefully Kante and Drinkwater will recover soon and Fabregas is our best and most creative CM.

6.) 29 Oct 2017 08:41:05
i believe kante drinkwater Bakayoko would be best as three. power of Bakayoko and pure energy from Kante and Drinkwater.

7.) 29 Oct 2017 09:07:09
Baka made the champions league team of the season and has been playing whilst not fully fit.

Yesterday he sacrificed his game to play as holding midfield, it was an okay performance from him despite not playing his normal role.

He's far more complete tan Fabregas who cannot contribute against stronger teams because he get run all over.

Don't forget that this time last year some of you were slagging off Alonso.

24 Oct 2017 17:12:22
In football everything is about players and formation. And formation depends on players that certain club has. Good coach is the one who is able to pick formation which suits players that he has on his disposal the best. And great coach is able to find right position for each player.
All in all football is a very simple game.

antibot

1.) 24 Oct 2017 20:38:24
I would just like to add to that something Brian Clough that said about choosing the system dependent on the players that you have available and not vice-versa.

2.) 25 Oct 2017 16:45:52
I believe that I have said the same in my second sentence.

Our problem is a central midfield without Kante. Bakayoko is useless and Fabregas doesn't really fit in 2 central midfield. So Azpilicueta is an amazing solution compared to our central midfield problem.

And Chelsea doesn't play with winger backs, Chelsea plays with with winger midfielders.

Not really. It is actually more offensive than in Monaco. He is young talented player but do not fool yourself he is far way from being uprade on Matic ( actually degrade) . The main and a most important Chelsea midfielder is Kante. Drinkwater is the right partner for Kante. Losing to WHU is not surprise they have been in crisis but I'm confident that theirs season will become better.

Conte is the best manager that Chelsea had in a long long time. He knows why this and not that player because there are many things that we do not know and they concern fitness, form, health status etc.
