Hi all, I'd just like to get your opinions on our possible January transfers. It look like we'll push to Callum Wilson and possibly for Pulisic (to arrive in the summer? )

What do you all think of this? I think Wilson's pace and genuine strength will be incredibly effective in our system. Pulisic would be interesting. I'm from the states, and while he is far and away our best player, I'm not sure that he will do well with Chelsea.

What do you think, and what other rumors have you heard about?

1.) 18 Dec 2018 16:10:47
Calum Wilson is the perfect January transfer. Fast strong and knows were the goal is, and come summer if we got a big name he would be brilliant back up, 24 and home grown. knows the league, Abraham 3rd choice next year?

2.) 18 Dec 2018 16:20:49
I believe that he is 26, but I still think he is plenty young enough! Do you have an idea of what "big name" you think would come in during the summer? I've been hoping for Icardi for the last few years, but I'm not sure that will ever happen!

3.) 18 Dec 2018 17:53:27
I think we have needs at LB, RW and CF.

Like many others on here i think that Ben Chilwell would be the ideal signing at LB, but I don't thing Leicester will sell him for anything other than a ridiculous price. To be fair, with his new deal, the club seem pretty content with Alonso so we probably won't see much movement here till the summer. I've mentioned him before, and I will mention him again, but Jay Da Silva is having a fantastic season.

Pusilic seems like a fair shout for the RW spot, I'd also like to see a move for Thorgan Hazard who is having a very good season in Germany.

I agree that Wilson would be the ideal signing for the CF position. Could even have the type of season that would eliminate the need for a "big name" signing.

4.) 18 Dec 2018 19:00:05
I’m not sure to be ho eat, I personally like icardi but he isn’t a Sarri type player of Sarri likes the target man who gets in the score sheet. Oscar did won’t be in the game for 75 min but 2 chances could bogey two goals, morata in theory is his type to link play and technically good but mentally he is so weak you have to feel for him. Mitrovic would be another one similar to Wilson for me. Good option but will only upgrade in summer, I honestly don’t know what strikers are about who are top class, the Cavani type except Harry Kane?

5.) 18 Dec 2018 19:22:34
I tend to disagree with your Icardi statement, I think he does well holding the ball up. IMO he's able to be more than a target man, his movement is very good, he's strong and has pace. I think Icardi would not only bring goals, but he would bring a similar scrappy attitude like Costa's, which I think we've been missing.

Remember that Sarri used Mertens and Hazard, who are smaller players, as a #9. But I do remember that he wanted a reunion with Higuain, so maybe he does prefer a big man. Only time will tell!

6.) 18 Dec 2018 19:53:19
J don’t know which Jay Da Silva you’ve been watching but he’s only played less than half their games. He can’t even get in the side ahead of Lloyd Kelly. We need to cut his loan short and send him somewhere else. I like Wilson but the price is a joke why not Vardy? A short term option who’s homegrown until we can find a world class striker. Vardy is a leader too he’s horrible but he’s what we need I’d try for him and Chilwell in a double deal very unlikely but it’s what I’d like to see.

7.) 20 Dec 2018 01:36:04
vardy a good shout fast agressive an finish good player.

8.) 20 Dec 2018 17:09:38
Vardy is 31!

09 Nov 2018 18:01:15
Seeing that we are interested in Denis Suarez from Barca. Does anyone know if this is true or not? Can’t see us having space for another midfielder honestly.

1.) 11 Nov 2018 05:23:27
I read somewhere that Sarri likes him and went for him on more than two occasions when he was at Napoli.

07 Jan 2018 18:31:34
Saw a rumor today about possibly bringing back Thorgan Hazard over the summer. I don't watch much of the German league, has anyone paid attention to his development? Would he be an upgrade to Pedro or Willian?

1.) 07 Jan 2018 20:25:52
This is me just speculating but it might be something that Eden has "demanded" before he signs a new contract

Again, that's me speculating.

27 Dec 2017 18:31:53
Hi eds, hope you're enjoying the holidays. Is there any hint on which teams are most interested in Hazard? Madrid is the obvious, but are there other teams monitoring him? Cheers!

{Ed002's Note - Can't help, sorry.}

1.) 27 Dec 2017 19:44:26
Ed002 any chance you could provide us with some transfer updates. But for a few trolls our page seems to have gone so dull without transfer input. Fair play to the other posters who kept things moving here of late. Tbh the trolls probably ain't even chelsea fans and are probably loving the fact that we get nothing here anymore. Any chance ed2?

{Ed002's Note - Zero chance. Even on Christmas Day I was getting foul abuse.}

2.) 27 Dec 2017 20:09:31
I know u won't say who they are ed02, but are the brain dead morons regular posters on this site, or other lowlife who don't usually post banter about Chelsea, but just take pleasure in writing cowardly abuse at u,

3.) 27 Dec 2017 20:10:50
Hopefully you can block The dickheads that ruin it for The rest of us, but understandable that you don't want to help under these circumstances.

4.) 27 Dec 2017 20:36:18
No worries Ed. Appreciate the quick reply. It would be good if you could somehow get these idiots banned. Because of them dickheads we are not able to maximise our use of the site which is obviously fantastic.

5.) 27 Dec 2017 23:41:05
I think banning has been suggested and maybe even tried before but it’s always going to be ineffective when they can create a new account in about a minute. It baffles me as to why anyone would abuse the Ed’s when they spend time giving us information we couldn’t get elsewhere for free.

6.) 28 Dec 2017 00:34:40
Ed002, let me preface this by saying that the abuse you're on the receiving end of is unneeded, and quite frankly, cowardly. but I don't feel that punishing everyone just because of a select few is the way to go about things. Because of some people's actions, us real supporters who enjoy reading your input are void of any information. Tarring everyone with the same brush is exactly what these abusers want, and they'll continue to abuse, and as such, us genuine supporters are feeling the effects of it. Introducing bans would be quite helpful, and easier for you.

7.) 28 Dec 2017 08:55:26
That's a real shame.

28 Aug 2017 17:45:37
Apparently we have agreed $45 million for Costa to athletico, and loaning him to Everton until January.

1.) 29 Aug 2017 08:34:33
£30 mil. a joke in current market; when willing (! ) he is one of the top five strikers in world and we are weaker without his physical presence up front.

When we see United again, I’m confident that it will be different. Assuming things happen like we expect, Rudiger, Kante, James and CHO will be match fit. RLC likely to be 100% by then too. I think we bossed the match for nearly 70 minutes, and if one of our chances goes in, the game is completely different. Let’s not be too reactionary, KTBFFH.

11 Jul 2019 18:02:39
First thoughts on the match, it was quite obvious that it was the first match! Very little should be taken out of it, but I think there are 3 individuals that we should keep an eye on.

1. Michy, he looks fit. Seems like he took the time to keep some match fitness and even looks like he bulked up a bit, without losing a step. He was my standout from yesterday. I'm excited to see how he progresses in the coming weeks.

2. Danny Drinkwater didn't look too bad for not playing for the better part of 2 years. If he can get some more rust off, he might be able to do a job for us during the long season.

3. Kurt Zouma looked decent. He looked a little slow to react to the run for the Bohs goal, but other than that I thought that he was solid. Let us hope that he can develop further as we get closer to the season.

Again, we can't tell much from the first match, but I'll be keeping an extra close eye on these 3!

1.) 12 Jul 2019 08:38:46
I would add Billy Gilmour to that list who really impressed me. Not sure about Drinkwater.

07 Jul 2019 15:15:56
If CHO doesn’t sign a new contract, which I’m still not convinced that he will, think we should make a bid for Sancho next summer? Ideally I want CHO to stay, but if he doesn’t I think Sancho would be an ideal replacement.

1.) 07 Jul 2019 16:37:59
He'll sign a new deal.

2.) 07 Jul 2019 18:35:42
Spot on “J”. He will be signing a new contract.

3.) 07 Jul 2019 18:38:53
I’ve wanted Sancho for ages. Him and CHO are best mates as well, them too along with Pulisic and were sorted out Wide.

4.) 07 Jul 2019 20:54:46
Sancho is a special player, isn’t the fastest wide man compared to others but his ability 1 v 1 and delivery is top class. Ed’s can I ask the situation with Sancho. Not so much regarding us but surely a lot of teams would be interested and are Dortmund prepared to sell any time soon.

{Ed001's Note - they are not looking to sell him but any big offer will have to be listened to.}

5.) 07 Jul 2019 22:42:56
I think the prospect of working with Lamps next year would be too good for him to turn down. Forgive me if I’m wrong but I believe he’s a boyhood Chelsea fan also. Working alongside James, RLC and CHO would also attract him I think. Let’s hope he has another good year of hitting double figures in goals and assists. Dortmund is the best place for him this season though I don’t think he’ll move somewhere like United and he definitely won’t go back to City with the talent they possess.

6.) 07 Jul 2019 23:05:57
Well who knows, we are forced to play young players and go with an English / homegrown core and no doubt save a huge amount with no investment this / next window maybe he would see us as a good route back into the premier league Pulisic can play left right and 10 so could accommodate him. How highly do you rate him ed. Flash in the pan or shining in a good league but not ready for prem or can he go all the way .

7.) 08 Jul 2019 12:34:21
TomB and J. ; are you guys being optimistic about Hudson Odoi signing a new deal? or are you speaking from a point of knowledge (I mean- are you certain that he will sign an extension? )

8.) 09 Jul 2019 14:31:40
Other than Hudson-Odoi I don't see much coming out of the youth system that'll fill this position in the next couple of years - maybe Gallagher. With Pedro and Willian coming to the end of their respective times at the club I imagine it's somewhere we will have to invest in post transfer ban.

Sancho would be great to rotate with Hudson-Odoi and Pulisic. I'm also keen to see how Ademola Lookman develops at Everton this year, he looks good, and underused, to me.

9.) 09 Jul 2019 14:32:02
Bit of optimism, bit of going by the more trustworthy reporters - according to them it's a matter of when, not if, he signs the deal.

BBC are reporting today that he is hopeful of signing a new deal at the club too - rather than the club being hopeful that he'll sign it.

05 Jul 2019 16:22:45
Looks like Piazon and Kenedy are travelling with the squad for preseason, as is Michy.

Musonda going on loan to Vitesse

Most importantly, super Frank is heading on the plane to Dublin. Will be a season of ups and downs, but I cannot wait!

If you can tune in, Pulisic will be going against Mexico this weekend. Think we'll be able to see him against proper competition. He's impressed me this tournament, for 20 years old, he's focused, determined and in really good form. putting my American bias aside (;

1.) 05 Jul 2019 18:30:25
Cattle = ruminant; Bee = insect; PULISIC = GOOD PLAYER. For me, his ability isn't in doubt.

28 Jun 2019 18:29:36
Assuming nobody snaps him up in the next year, I'd love for us to go after James Maddison. Think he could be a great addition to the squad and it would add to our growing English influence in the first team.

Maddison, RLC, CHO, Tammy and Reece could well be the future of the English national team. What are everyone's thoughts?

1.) 28 Jun 2019 20:49:17
He is a really really good player, as mentioned before I watched loads of Leicester games last season and for me he was the standout player of the team with Chilwell. I don't really know what man city and man utd are seeing in Maguire though.

2.) 28 Jun 2019 21:12:20
If anything I am more worried about Liverpool, Henderson and Milner are aging. I'm sure they'll look for English influence.

Lets hope that the draw of Lampard would sway Maddison to come to us next year!

3.) 29 Jun 2019 00:00:18
I think James Maddison is similar to Ross Barkley (who's refusing to improve to his potential) in some ways; yes he's a good player but I am not over the moon about him.

4.) 29 Jun 2019 09:26:11
I'll take my chances with Mount instead of spending a lot of money on a guy like Maddison.

5.) 29 Jun 2019 16:54:17
Or I would take my chances with Mason Mount like Jackson rightly put it.

6.) 29 Jun 2019 18:44:21
Maddison is a quality player, his at the level people think Mount is already at,

7.) 29 Jun 2019 22:57:01
You literally can't compare mount and Maddison guys. Mount sometimes looked lost in Championship where Maddison probably been best leicester player this season.

8.) 30 Jun 2019 08:15:47
Not comparing them, obviously Maddison is more experienced and also has got that relevant Premiership experience. I just feel that if Mason Mount is given the same exposure or close (like Maddison) he can be equal or better to Maddison. I remember that Chelsea also scouted Maddison too before now when he was at Norwich but decided against signing him (it could be the right decision cos Mason Mount did show a lot of promise last season, so best we give him a chance) .

I think we’re using this as an empty threat, as Atletico is going to be pocketing large sums of money from selling players (Rodri, Antoine) . I believe that the quoted amount for Morata would just about recoup the fee that we originally paid for him.

It’ll be interesting if you’re right Matt. I’d immediatly go in for Nicolas Pepe, an Ivorian from Lille is the best of both worlds 😉.

I really enjoy hearing the different perspectives and I anxious to see what the true outcome will be. Ominous times ahead, but I think we'll manage. For all we know, this ban could totally restructure the club for the better!

Obinna, if we successfully get the ban frozen, I think we will make a strong push for 2-3 signings to revamp our team. I fully believe that we have our targets identified and have held informal talks if the expectation is to buy during the CAS investigation. If I'm wrong, which I very well could be, then I think the club wants to get the ban over with ASAP.

Matt, I am not sure how the request to suspend the ban works. I don't think that there is any way that we get through this without a 2 window punishment. I think it'll be up to the club when we serve it however (serve now or after the appeal) . I still find it a bit odd that we can sign players younger than 16, which is probably what got us in this mess in the first place!

What is the source of us appealing to CAS? I feel like we are just going to take the ban, but this could change a lot if we did appeal.

We could be spend happy and target players like Icardi, Pepe etc. It could also signal a change of heart with our decision to back Sarri, meaning that he may opt to stay instead of heading to Juve. It could also hint that a manager like Allegri is incoming rather than super Frank.

Just feel like an appeal to CAS is opposite of everything I've read in the last weeks and could potentially implicate us having some major major news upcoming. I apologize for being skeptical Obinna (:

While I would be over the moon with signing either Koulibaly or Romagnoli, I think we should be realistic. First, Koulibaly is 28. I think moving to us in this stage of his career would see him regress a bit. As for Romagnoli, I think that he would be an amazing signing, but would he want to leave Milan? He's the captain of Milan and Italy, I don't think he'll leave.

I appreciate the negotiation process and its place in all types of business but asking for game assurances is something I don't like in any sport.

I Have a feeling that CHO is bordering between confident and arrogant. This whole saga is leaving me with a bitter taste, either stay and rightfully keep your place in the team or put in a transfer request and head to Munich where things may not be as rose colored as they seem.

The longer that this drags on, the less support he'll get. Imagine that he leaves on a free next summer after the fight and support that we gave him last season, I'd be happy to see the back of him and bring in someone who would be determined to fight and compete for a first team spot.

Matt law has shown time and again that he is one of the best sources for CFC news. I don’t believe anything Sky says, they’re equivalent to ESPNFC here in the states.

Also note that Matt Law broke the story about CFC threatening Atletico to pay for Morata or we’ll terminate his loan. That could lead to some interesting developments!

If Conte and Inter want him out, and other teams are staying away, could be a relatively smooth process to get him. Think that, beside the baggage, he would be a massive addition to our squad.

But with the ban, we won't be able to pursue him. Think he'll stay in Italy regardless.
