I think it is now impossible to win the Premier league and Champions league in the same season. I think the manager and players think the same. Our performance against A. Madrid was one of the best I have seen from us in recent years. Our pragmatic performance against Man City one of the poorest. I actually think the players went out Today mentally knowing Man City will probably win the league and saved themselves for Roma. I really think we will turn it on against Roma and if we do pretty much wrap up qualification. I think Conte will leave in the Summer and is also targeting the Champions league. The Manc sides and possibly Spurs will make top 4 so it might be a battle with Liverpool for 4th. Arsenal no chance. Win the Champions league and what a season. just my thoughts and I tend to be positive most of the time. Thoughts?

Personally i doubt the players saved themselves, i think they were just very very poor today and being poorly set up didn't help. I do believe though that the players know it'll be between the two Manchester teams. The quality in them two teams (especially city) and the chasing pack is pretty huge after their transfer windows. One thing you have to do once you win the league is to improve your team, we didn't and now We're paying the price. I think Conte will leave at the end of the season if he makes it and maybe he'd want a good CL run when/ if he does leave to end off. Like you said that Athletico performance was special and it shows we can compete with most teams in Europe when fit, i can see a good CL run but can't see us winning it. My biggest fear is missing out on top 4 and Conte leaving as well as Hazard and Courtois.

Did either of you watch the United game today? It may have been a once off but united were very average and should have been beaten (my opinion) and let's not forget city usually dip in form around Christmas stop writing everything off this early. Enjoy the football don't needlessly undermine the team you support. I agree with LondonBlues90 it had nothing to do with Roma we just played bad today but we learn from this and move on. The best thing I saw today was that Mosunda should start before Willian at least until he gets a bit of confidence back. He played well, missed a chance but he has a passion. Also great to see Tammy having a good day!

Denningtonbear, yeah United weren't anything special today but that's how Mourinho always sets up in big away games. If United had gone at Liverpool they'd have had a much better chance of winning. In terms of the squad it's the 2nd best in the league imo behind city and I'd only say theirs is better than ours because of their depth. I wouldn't be soo down about our start if the likes off Christensen and Musonda were playing more regular, Christensen deserves to be starting and Musonda should be ahead of willian in the team but isn't. On a positive note though we do have some real young talent. Zouma with Christensen and Azpi in defence next season will be a joy and Tammy will hopefully be big for us as well👍.

Ya that's true about Mou and definitely I agree with you on the youth we have a lot of upcoming talent! It's nice to see youth finally coming through 'slowly but surely'

People saying luiz has been bad why drop christensen i thought he was fantastic against city imo.

Batshuayi can't play for a club like Chelsea yet.

So glad to see Batshuayi starting today, even if he doesn't have an amazing game at least he occupies defenders to give Hazard some space.

This could be a trickier game than we think today but I'm going for a 3-1 win. C'MON CHELSEA!

Miss Darren Wood, the thing is you can't blame Batshuayi alone. Whenever he's given a chance recently the whole team has play terribly, making him look worse. The whole team is underperforming, and I know Hazard is still finding his feet after his injury. But besides the Atletico game Hazard hasn't looked a patch on last season.
