Ed001, what are your thoughts about Duff and Ballack as a players? Havertz in germany has been drawing some comparisons to the latter, would be a good buy.

{Ed001's Note - loved both mate. I was gutted when Duff chose Chelsea over Liverpool (among others), he was a much better winger than he gets given credit for. Probably because he faded so badly due to injuries.

As for Ballack, a proper team player, as well as being quality he had an excellent attitude, as exemplified by him in the World Cup semi in 2002 when he took the card knowing it would put him out of the final and continued to play his heart out for the team. As opposed to Gazza who fell apart when it happened because he was not a true team player.}

Cheers mate, huge fan of both. Actually ran into Duff at an airport, was great to both me and my dad.

Really interesting comparison between Duff and Gazza there as well.

Duff was brilliant, if he was in his prime now he'd be an £80m+ player. Underrated cause of his boring name and nationality- If it was Daniele Duffenza people would be raving over him.

Loved Duff. What a player. His goal against barcelona still gives me goosebumps.

What a player Hazard is, definitely an argument to be made for him being Chelsea's greatest ever player (Purely in terms of talent, gets more complicated when you factor in external qualities) though he has the likes of Drogba and Bogarde to compete with.

I remember when Hazard originally came to us he was played as more of a traditional number 10. Even now when he plays on the left he tends to drift inwards. Ed001, do you think Hazard could prove even more effective if he was played as a traditional number 10 again? (assuming the change in formation to accommodate this change was just as effective) .

{Ed001's Note - he certainly could play there and, if he works out his role well, then he would be even better there. It does come down to him relearning a role, but it should allow him the freedom to find space where he can hurt the opposition most. I would like to see it myself.}

Only thing tha is missing from his game is to be more selfish. He should be scoring double the goals.

I remember Fabregas urging Hazard to be more selfish last season but Conte blasted Fabregas. I really support that Hazard needs to be more selfish and shoot more at the goal.

{Ed001's Note - I think we have all thought his one weakness was a lack of goals. Well other than Conte!}

I was going to post something similar until i saw this post, Hazard as a natural number 10 would be great for us imo. I'd actually like to try using him as the 3rd CM spot against weaker opposition, move him forward as a CAM and put CHO or Willian at LW and Pedro at RW. Use kante or Kova and Jorginho as the other two CM's. Really think it'll help us against teams who pack their defence. What do you think?
