Ed002 suggests on the Leicester page we may well have indeed walked away from Chilwell due to the asking price. Maybe some truth in the Reguilon rumours.

1.) 10 Aug 2020 17:59:49
Very very good. I pray Leicester City doesn’t drop Chilwell’s asking price so that we can move from him to Reguilon.
He also said that Benrahma could be heading elsewhere that isn’t Leicester City, I was wondering if he was coming to Chelsea.
The Turkish goal keeper Ugukan Cahir also looking like someone we shouldn’t rule out.

2.) 10 Aug 2020 18:11:23
Great news RJ28P, I’ll take one of Reguilón, Cucurella or Tag (from Ajax) over Chilwell.

We move .

3.) 10 Aug 2020 18:30:45
Yea Cucurella is a good shout.

4.) 10 Aug 2020 20:32:10
I still think we will get Chilwell. Would want him over anyone.

5.) 10 Aug 2020 23:03:52
on sky sports news now wev expressed an interest in tagliagico.

6.) 11 Aug 2020 07:45:01
It’s really looking like Chelsea wants to sign 2 left backs.

7.) 11 Aug 2020 08:35:05
Chilwell all day. If Lampard wants him, which is looking like he’s Lamps first choice then I’m all for it. It’s not our business to complain about the money being spent. I’m sure the club is in very good hands and will only pay what they think the player is worth.

8.) 11 Aug 2020 09:45:24
Personally I think if we get any one of Chilwell, Reguilon or Tagliafico it would be a big improvement on the current options we have at left back.
I was hopeful that Emerson could regain some form and make the LB position his own, but it's clear he isn't the standard of LB we need to push further up the table.
With Alonso, I must admit, I'm not his biggest fan as a LB, he's slow, often out of position and seemingly makes regular mistakes. As a wing back, he looks much more naturally adept, which is why I think we should keep him next year (unless an offer comes in which we cannot refuse) .
Sell Emerson, Keep Alonso as cover and versatility for wing back, then sign Chilwell, Reguilon or Tagliafico.
If I were calling the shots, I'd go for the higher risk option of Reguilon or Tagliafico and then try and raise funds for a higher profile CB.

9.) 11 Aug 2020 17:00:30
Haven’t seen too much of Reguilon, big fan of Chilwell although he will cost a pretty penny. I think as suggested we should be after two left backs, but Azpi provides viable cover on the left for a back four.

Big fan of Taglafico, always have been, he’s available and cheap, I know his name has been mentioned before but Alex Telles has been a real hit at Porto, despite struggling in the Serie A.

Regardless of who we purchase they’ll be an upgrade on our options at current, Emerson has potential going forward but doesn’t seem to have the same work rate at the back. Whilst Alonso is best described as a liability, while capable of hitting a nice free kick, he’s constantly out of position and at fault for opposition chances, it scares me when he’s on the team sheet.

03 Aug 2020 15:51:52
Ed002 on the City page:

'Kai Havertz (AM) another David Silva replacement - but heading elsewhere. '

As good as deal done for me.

1.) 03 Aug 2020 16:13:02
To be fair, Ed did sort of say that a couple of times on here already. Since then, I’ve been sleeping a whole lot easier, goes without saying things can change but « it should be » done. Good times ahead lads, good times.

2.) 03 Aug 2020 18:56:45
Brilliant that it’s happening, but not surprised as Ed’s said it should happen, more surprised as I though foden was the David silva replacement.

02 Aug 2020 16:39:38
Ed002, possible to ask if anything has changed RE: Saïd Benrahma and if there is any interest at all in Tammy Abraham?

{Ed002's Note - Said Benrahma (LW/S/F) If not promoted, Brentford will be looking for £25M with Palace, Spurs, Leicester, Aston Villa, Leeds, Newcastle and West Ham showing an interest - the question will remain can he step up and will clubs see value in the player at that price. Brentford have a replacement in mind. If Brentford do get promoted, they plan on keeping him.

I am not aware of any approaches to Chelsea for Tammy Abraham.}

1.) 02 Aug 2020 16:59:14
Sounds like ours and Arsenal's interest in Benrahma has gone. Thanks Ed002.

2.) 02 Aug 2020 17:32:56
I’m not sure what happens if Willian stays anyway.

3.) 02 Aug 2020 22:44:30
Brentford seem to be a very well run professional outfit, with a good scouting network. On a side note their new stadium looks lovely.

4.) 03 Aug 2020 08:26:10
I haven’t seen it yet J.

I always try and get along to Brentford once a season, I hope I can sooner rather than later.

25 Jul 2020 12:59:55
Ed002 on the Utd page re: Saul interest.
Saul Niguez (CM), Donny van de Beek (CM) and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (CM) would have been available to replace Paul Pogba but it is looking less likely now that Pogba will depart and they can now be discounted. Atletico will sell another to raise funds and look to keep Saul.
Maybe the Jan Oblak rumours actually have some truth?

1.) 25 Jul 2020 17:54:48
Maybe. They could also sell Gimenez for a high amount and we've been linked to him too. I'd say he'd be more likely of a purchase than Oblak. And i'm sure they'd rather let Gimenez go out of the two. Personally would rather Oblak eventhough he'd cost more. Gimenez seems to have problems with staying fit and i don't want our best CB to be missing half of our games.

2.) 25 Jul 2020 18:27:34
Can't see Giminez commanding a fee like Oblak.

3.) 25 Jul 2020 18:42:41
I’m sure Kepa would be thrown into any deal if a bid for a Oblak goes in. They get cash and a replacement. Win/ win for them.

4.) 25 Jul 2020 19:17:54
Oblak Giminez Saul, anyone of which would be improvement to us, massively.

5.) 25 Jul 2020 19:25:11
Hardly doubt Atletico would want Kepa Adam. Would be too big of a downgrade for them to accept him as an Oblak replacement.

6.) 25 Jul 2020 20:12:41
Let’s get it right, he’s not a bad keeper. He’s just not a keeper built for the Premier League. He’s is/ was Spain’s
Number 1 only recently. He had a very good career in Spain before his move. He’s a keeper massively short of confidence and with the right time etc, he’ll get that back.

07 Jun 2020 20:34:10
Hugely interesting comments from Ed002 on the European page RE: Juventus transfer plans and some of it also concerns us and Kai Havertz.

1.) 07 Jun 2020 21:08:13
RJ28P, I have looked at those comments and because his name has been mentioned by several posters on this site I have looked online at some clips.

I am not a fan of judging any player unless you see him over a full 90mins and with my own eyes but I have to say he looks one hell of player!

I don’t see it happening but it would be nice!

2.) 07 Jun 2020 21:13:13
What a great read. Pity we cannot her a write up like that On this page.

3.) 07 Jun 2020 22:08:00
If Bayern show concrete interest in Havertz then I can't see us getting him. He's Germany's golden boy, so it only seems likely that he'll end up in Munich.

Not sure we need him either if Werner indeed joins us. We have Pulisic, Callum, Ziyech, Tammy and Giroud already. Add Werner to that and that's 6 very good options for 3 positions.

4.) 07 Jun 2020 22:19:04
I am concerned about CHO! . It would be a shame if he doesn’t fulfil his potential.

I assume Pedro is leaving and I’m not very confident about Willian agreeing to our terms, so he may well be going.

{Ed002's Note - I very much doubt you will see Pedro play again for Chelsea.}

5.) 08 Jun 2020 02:34:16
I won’t hold my breath but could you imagine having Werner and Havertz with Ziyech and the young guys around them too that team would be able to play against anyone not to mention they all so young that’s a team that could dominate in a couple of years. So much versatility in the squad too. Exciting times dread to think how much the package in total for him would be though got to be 160 mil plus.

6.) 08 Jun 2020 07:22:04
Hmm if Pedro doesn't sign that temporary extension then we're really light on wingers. Would be a shame to see him leave without playing again. On the other hand, if his last game is the Everton one, then that's a nice way to end it.

7.) 08 Jun 2020 08:24:37
With Werner hopefully joining and Giroud signing a 1 year extension I think we are in great shape up front. I'm also excited with our midfield options now Ruben is fit again (big question mark as to whether he can stay injury free though) and the emergence of young Billy Gilmour, I really think he is going to be a star. Kante, Kovacic, Mount, Ruben, Gilmour, Barklay, Jorginho? plus Conor Gallacher and Ampadu both returning from loans. a lot of talent to pick from although I guess some will move on either sold or loaned. exciting times.

8.) 08 Jun 2020 08:50:32
CHO had a season disrupted by injury, difficult enough for an experienced pro to get back match fit and very difficult for a kid like him.

Problem he has is that, despite us likely changing the setup of the team quite often, Werner and Ziyech are likely to be constants in most games. CHO is going to have to get his head down and work his way into the team. I worry that he may be of the opinion that he should be in on natural talent alone, and not be up for the hard work / battle for a place.

9.) 08 Jun 2020 10:13:56
jackson i very much doubt we will be short of wingers we will have cho pulisic ziyech and werner who can all play left or right mid.

10.) 08 Jun 2020 11:55:00
I think Jackson is saying we might be short out wide for the remainder of this season, not next season.

I can’t see Pedro playing again for us and that will be sad but I wish him all the best for the future.

11.) 08 Jun 2020 13:26:43
Tom is correct, that's what I meant. If Werner joins as well then our winger options for next season look very good. But for the conclusion of the current season it would leave us with only Pulisic, Callum and Willian (unless Willian doesn't agree a short extension either) . Mount might have to shift to the wing in case of injuries.

12.) 08 Jun 2020 13:40:27
Good afternoon Ed002; please who is the other player that Chelsea missed out on- when you were talking about Kai Havertz on the European page? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Reinier Jesus.}

13.) 08 Jun 2020 14:37:40
I'm still of the opinion that Willian might agree a new contract. I think it would make sense. Nice thread this one, good comments, well balanced and no trolling. long may it continue.

{Ed002's Note - I agree and that might well happen.}

14.) 08 Jun 2020 14:45:42
Yes nice calm thread, i doubt willian will sign tbh, havertz woukd be brilliant as a top player and can play cm, acm, rw and cf. ed002 is it possible to ask what chelsea interesting proposal to leverkusen for havertz? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I don't think sharing that would be appreciated.}

15.) 08 Jun 2020 14:58:40
It would by me and im sure a lot of others on here who are genuinely interested and appreciate what you tell us.

{Ed002's Note - That isn't the issue.}

16.) 08 Jun 2020 15:07:08
Understandable, Ed. Obviously a lot on here would be eager to read it, but we have little idea about the trolling and abuse getting sent in. So I trust you're right.

Just wondering, is it perhaps one of our younger players being included in a deal in some sort of way? Like a loan, or outright including a player for a permanent transfer?
Don't mean to push you on this, but I'd hate to see one of Callum or Pulisic leave to make space for someone else, even if that player is as awesome as Havertz.

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with abuse. You are simply making the rest of the stuff up.}

17.) 08 Jun 2020 15:56:32
Hey Jackson, I think Ed meant it won’t be appreciated by the clubs and not as a result of Mindless keyboard warriors abuse.

18.) 08 Jun 2020 15:50:15
I see how bringing in Kai Havertz will interfere with Pulisic or Hudson-Odoi.

19.) 08 Jun 2020 16:14:30
Eli, you're probably right. I misinterpreted it :)

Sorry for the unnecessary question, Ed!

20.) 08 Jun 2020 17:22:55
So nice to take part in a very constructive series of posts.

Also, congratulations Tino look forward to seeing you again in the first team.

21.) 09 Jun 2020 01:19:37
aah ok my bad ed002, your making me feel positive about him possibly joining tbh i reckon we have a chance if we pay up as he's said he wants to join a club with a project and good young manager plus if werner comes it should help as a teamate from germany.

Ed002, you mentioned about Chiquinho on another page, is that to replace Samuel Iling-Junior?

23 Aug 2020 19:01:36
Ed002, can we please have an update like on the United page? Even if it misses out the defence due to the gilfnards, it'll still be invaluable. Enjoy your evening.

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing else to say aside from the defence really.}

1.) 23 Aug 2020 22:30:15
Alright, appreciated Ed002. Understandable when we've already got Werner, Ziyech, seem to be close to Havertz and Rice can also play midfield as well as defence and I suspect WHU are pricing him out. I take it with defence, you are including goalkeeper in that Ed002?

{Ed002's Note - Of course.}

2.) 23 Aug 2020 23:14:16
No problem, thanks. As one final question, what's the plan with Jake Clarke-Salter? Hopefully not another loan- he needs stability.

{Ed002's Note - There is no plan right now as far as I know. I am told a huge number of requests for loan players are arriving for players.}

3.) 23 Aug 2020 23:38:22
Thanks as always Ed002. Still in Cornwall?

{Ed002's Note - I am unable to travel to where I need to be, so for now yes.}

4.) 24 Aug 2020 00:54:49
I didn't know you were down this end with me ED! Do you come to Cornwall regularly?

{Ed002's Note - I have a home in Cornwall.}

5.) 24 Aug 2020 12:00:33
Ahh makes sense! I'll take that as a yes then! Where are your favourite parts to visit?

{Ed002's Note - Since we purchased the house here we really have not visited anywhere at all - I travel a great deal and am of course stuck here now. There will be plenty to do when time allows.}

16 Aug 2020 10:18:45
If anyone fancies a laugh, check out the West Ham page suggestions for a fair price/ swaps for Declan Rice.

1.) 16 Aug 2020 12:08:35
IMO RJ, Ed giving his opinion on Klopps behaviour on the Liverpool site is the funniest.

2.) 16 Aug 2020 14:57:37
Just searched for and read those posts on the Liverpool pages TomB. Ed was spot on 100% about tapping players up. One fan replied its just "creative cheating" 🤣🤣.

3.) 16 Aug 2020 15:35:31
All very funny Blue.

14 Aug 2020 17:34:54
Ed002, can we get a similar update to the one provided on the Arsenal page? Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - As I have explained, it has been made perfectly clear to me that Chelsea have already signed all of the defenders already and I know nothing. As such it would be a waste of time me explaining what I know and simply lead to more grief.}

1.) 14 Aug 2020 22:51:08
No problem Ed002, thanks anyway.

2.) 15 Aug 2020 05:12:09
Bloody hell these idiots have ruined it for us all.

Sorry ed002 that you gave to take suck bs from some idiots.

But to the majority of us fans here . Your input is most valuable and only source of credible football news.

Thanks and keep it up.

3.) 15 Aug 2020 06:55:31
I guess the only way to get rid of the morons is to starve everyone of information for a period of time with the knowledge that only those really interested will still be around after that period has finished. Most of us love your work and in awe of your knowledge Ed and fully support whatever your decisions are, much love.

That said reading into Ed’s comments slightly might reveal that he feels it unnecessary to do a Chelsea write up as it would at this stage (having signed ziyech, Werner and Ed confirming we are in talks for havertz) be full of Defensive targets, which he feels would be a unappreciated topic to write up on. Might I enquire Ed is there anything new in terms of targets that are not defenders/ goalkeepers?

01 Aug 2020 20:36:29
Hope Pedro is alright, looked nasty. As for Anthony Taylor, nothing to say. This is the same referee that booked Alonso when Gazzaniga assaulted him; same referee that missed Batshuayi getting kicked by Maguire; same ref that sent off Zouma. Injuries and his influence lost us that game.

1.) 01 Aug 2020 20:46:15
He has got some form RJ28P.

The standard of refereeing in this country is bang average.

The only ref I have anytime for is Michael Oliver.
