Ed French media still reporting Mata to P$G *sigh*
Would the deal need to be done by our deadline or the French deadline?
1.) Surely it would have needed to be the French deadline as they were going to be bringing him in. It was all media rubbish in an attempt to 'spice up' deadline day. {Ed002's Note - The deadlines were the same - so it is irrelevant.}

Did P$G ever enter talks to sign Mata or just enquire? {Ed018's Note - I heard enquire and didn't hear anything after that}

If this is true and we sign a top CB and striker as well as moving on Ba and loans for the youngsters we have had a truly excellent window in my opinion.
1.) Obviously I would love what your suggesting, but I can't really see us buying two players from now till 11:00 that won't be the sort that go straight out on loan or in the reserves. Personally I think we need to go for one more striker as we will be loaning out Ba almost for certain. Seeing as Yilmaz's move to Lazio has fallen through I don't see why we shouldn't go for him again seeing as Jackson Martinez would cost an insane amount of money now.

That is truly appalling business. Overrated and unnecessary would much rather just see Mata kept unless we are getting a great deal (like Ibrahimovic and £30 million which obviously won't happen.) 91 goals/assists in two seasons. Hulk definitely not the answer.
Still praying for Lewandoski, I know it's a long shot but I can dream?
1.) The problem I would have if we were to sign Lewandowski, (and just to be clear I think there is zero chance) is the fact that he clearly wants to move to Bayern and would probably only want to stay with us for a season or two at most. Plus his attitude might be terrible.

Paying £8 million for Courtois was truly one of the best pieces of business ever. Best keeper in la liga. Will be worth £40+ in two years, think he will be better than Cech as well. No young keeper in the world be it Leno or De Gea or Ter-Stegen are anywhere near Courtois's ability.
On an aside, stop all the negative posts! Yes I'm disappointed Lukaku went on loan but think! How do you feel he feels right now in the squad after Friday? He feels like he lost us a trophy! And some stupid fans unfortunately would jeer him because they would blame him as well. A loan to Everton puts him in a decent team who have the capability to match anyone on their day and they will take points away from our competitors. Judging on reports in Portugal we were quoted €65 million by Porto for Martinez and in my opinion, only a couple of strikers are worth that price and none of them is him! We put too much faith on the Rooney deal and we payed but it's over now. Look at our squad. We have a world class keeper in Cech as he proved Friday. And decent back up in Schwartzer and Blackman. Azpilicueta will be drafted back in now he is fully fit and Ivanovic is a tank. When Terry and Cahill are on form they are brilliant as they proved against United and Luiz I think will become one of the worlds best defenders under Mourinho. Cole is still in the top 5 LB's in the world and Bertrand is decent hard working back-up. Ramires is good in his position, Lampard is a decent option and adds leadership, Mikel is okay, MVG looks a great young prospect and Chalobah is a terrific young talent. Attacking midfield, we have the best options in the world. World class playmakers in Oscar, KDB and Mata and similar quality wingers in Schurlle, Hazard and Willian. I still think Ba is a decent finisher and will score some goals if he sorts out the offside problem he has. Torres in my opinion needs confidence and service and our midfield now should give him this. Eto'o I can only judge on the last game I saw which was the CL final when he was excellent. Lukaku back in January when we are top of the league, maybe Martinez and Mourinho and Chelsea roar to the title!
Lets see some positivity, at least we didn't do business like United or sell our best player a la Spurs!

2.) I'm happy as hell with the squad. The lukaku and Moses loans are the right thing to do. If and I do say if Torres performs for Jose I'm not worried. I know eto will for Jose. I have a feeling he will get our strikers scoring.

The best business we have done this window is keeping Luiz and Mata and bringing back Jose.
Give Eto'o a chance and maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe Torres will become good!

If we keep Mata, lose Ba and Lukaku on season long loans but sign two top strikers I'd say this has been a good window.
Any new information about Mata to PSG eds or any news on possible new strikers?

Twitter now reporting Mata is in Paris. Ed, have you ever considered a petition to get that site shut down due to the amount of rubbish which is spewed out on it? {Ed013's Note - Trouble causers with nothing to do will always make things up, unfortunately a petition would not close down twa**er}

The situation that will see Mata leave is him saying he wants a move and an acceptable offer being made to the club. It is nothing to do with "silly money". (b) It is not safe to assume a striker will not be signed. (c) No, that is not correct.}
3.) Ben Smith said on his official twitter that CFC have no idea about PSG interest in Mata and unless big money is suggested no sale. That's what he has said so I guess it's incorrect?
