Hi guys, been lurching around for years on the site now. Great reading even with the negativity, it is all banter at the end of the day, we know we are the top club in England, fact, we proved that massively last year. I know it's not our money, and we shouldn't get to wrapped up in transfer news, but it's all good fun. Although who else is proud to be a Chelsea fan now we are showing great net spend compared to other top flight teams, i certainly am. We can brush of the stigma of "buying titles" and see it all as great investment. I personally see 2-3 more signings this year, maybe 1 youth, a wing back and a midfielder. Granted nothing spectacular, but depth.
Barkley would be a good English addition, in the market £40-50 million, is not a huge amount for a home grown premier league standard player, with great potential. Sorry for the wall of text. COYB!

Money spent on signings since 2008

£1228 Man City
£901 Man Utd
£843 PSG
£690 R. Madrid
£651 Barcelona
£542 Chelsea

Chelsea "buying titles"?

Dont think so.

2.) 03 Aug 2017 20:34:58
Those figures surprise me. Are they correct.

3.) 03 Aug 2017 21:39:41
We've only spent £542? 😮 I spend that on a weekend of drinking 😂 Jokes.

4.) 04 Aug 2017 01:58:49
Ok 542m 😒.

5.) 04 Aug 2017 09:46:29
Those figures are more than £300 million out.

6.) 04 Aug 2017 16:52:40
This must be net spend, we've definitely spent more than that.

Hello everyone, I was wondering what views people had on selling De Bruyne? I was a big fan off his before he came to Chelsea and while he was here. I always wanted to see more time on the pitch from him, although I also trust in Jose and believe he was correct with the poor defensive effort from Kevin, as with Mata. Now the 50+ million price, which seems is being met, seems like we missed out on more profit, although he wouldn't have built that price tag at Chelsea due to no game time. I do think it's very steep, although in the inflated market, he did provide the most assists from the top 5 leagues in the world and might just go into justify it.
What do you guys think? Would love to hear yours and any ed's views!
Another 3-2 or 3-1 victory at the weekend me thinks. With another Pedro goal.
P.s sorry for the wall of text.

I have always asked myself. if Jose is as special as we are meant to believe how come he does not adopt tactics to suit some of the good player rather all player must adopt his way.the same reason I believe RLC will never develop into a player we all hope he will because Jose does not give them freedom to express themselves (young players). and you will also see a lot of failed signings as he is more interested in form than quality

2.) 28 Aug 2015 17:51:27
I think at Wolfsburg KDB has enjoyed a "free role" very comparable to the role Mata played in under RDM and Rafa. That kind of position doesn't exist in Jose's system and it also sounds like he might need to be babied a touch by the manager which is another thing that won't happen with Jose. Overall good for him for doing well for himself but I'm intrigued how City plan to incorporate him as he and Silva play a very similar role.

3.) 28 Aug 2015 20:04:59
I think Jose has a way of playing and because of this can make very good players seem average because of his tactics of defence first. De bruyne under any other manager at Chelsea I believe would of flourished. But from what I have read de bruyne wasn't prepared to fight for his place so this contributed to his exit. It's a shame really because we have sold players who could now play the positions we are struggling in. Ok we now have pedro but before him de bruyne can play wide right with a wicked cross and pops up with a lot of goals/assists. Mata is also doing pretty well at the moment playing a similar position. But for me I was really impressed with the performances of David Luiz when he played midfield for Chelsea. I think he would of been perfect next to matic right now. He was poor as a last man in defence but his pressing and range of passing was great, he also poped up with some goals.

sadly with Jose you either adapt to him or you find yourself another team to play for.hes always been like this and always will be

5.) 28 Aug 2015 21:31:07
I understand your point Robben on De Bruyne but a pretty well thought of Belgian journalist said today in response to a question about city being the best place for him " Probably not. KDB needs to have responsibilty and freedom to more or less run the show, difficult where he's going" you don't get that at top teams unless you are one of two men Ronaldo or Messi, Hazard does not have that luxury at Chelsea nor Silva at City.

6.) 28 Aug 2015 22:13:25
KDB has been the main man for Wolfsburg, the team is built around his strengths and also to cover his weakness of not tracking back (Guilavogui is especially good at this!). It will be interesting to see how City use him, he struggles in the Belgian national team when it isn't set up around him (usually is set around Hazard instead) and at City, it is set up around Yaya Toure and a lesser extent David Silva.

7.) 29 Aug 2015 01:14:05
Always said he'll turn out to be an unreal player. Ever since his first loan. We wasted him, and bought a 30 million player when he was playing well.

You could say I'm still upset about it

8.) 29 Aug 2015 09:35:19
KDB wasn't prepared to fight for his spot. He may have all the talent in the world, but has shown when the chips are down he will give up. Certainly not someone I'd rely on, on a cold night at the Britannia.

City will see zero resale value, and in all honesty, if he has a pants season, his value will be cut in half, as he hasn't shown consistency at the top level.

Hello Guys, I visit frequently, daily. Although I post very rarely, I have to completely agree with t.k. It has never crossed my mind in a situation like this, why not leave Stones at Everton, he will get another full season of experience and like t.k said, the price does not have room to grow. The value of 35-40 million is ridiculous, we have the best back 4 in the Prem, possibly the world, with players like Zouma coming through also we have no reason to panic buy.
As t.k also stated Varane might become more available in coming months.

P.S Sooooo please for Bamford for to get a Hatrick on his debut, regardless of the quality of opposition. Never really appreciated the hype over Bamford, most probably due to my ignorance of lower league football, although hopefully he can prove me wrong this season.
Also I would just like to say thank you to all the supporters that make this page entertaining every day!

Oh dear, another Oscar bash, I won't defend him with the '' over played excuse '' because he has had enough rest, and he doesn't need defending, he played well! He can play better true, but who is saying isco/reus/cavani or even pogba could do a better job. A lot of people are so intent on buying new players when they are not needed. It is easy to say Player ''A'' would be better than current player ''B'', but ''A'' has not probably played in the Premier league, probably not played along side our squad and probably not with our tactics, people need to understand that a players quality will not just transfer from one squad to another. I am more than happy with Oscar and our current squad. At least get rid of the non starting dead wood first, i.e Torres and Mikel.
Ok rant over.

Very well said. I'am very happy with our business so far. Turning profits on players we do not need, whilst adding depth and quality for great value.
Lukaku needs a lot of help with his attitude, for a so called life long Chelsea fan he has issues.
Who knows maybe in a few years when he has grown up and improved he could return.
