Afternoon ed, sorry if this question is stupid, with frank saying we won't get striker (s) we want in January and lots of talk with sancho not happening until summer either, will we try and get any deals in place for any targets, like we did with pulisic, or an agreement with the club to save us being involved in a bidding war, although that suits selling clubs, obviously come the summer I imagine dembele Werner sancho etc etc will have more interest and competitions,

I believe Matt's asking/ stating that- shouldn't Chelsea be looking to signing up some of their targets (like Sancho, Verner/ Dembele) like the club did in the case of Pulisic (ie sign them up in this winter transfer window, leave them on loan but they join the team in the summer) to avoid having to complete with other clubs for their signature come summer (cos he- Matt anticipates that a lot of good teams will be trying to sign these players in the summer transfer window which could make signing them in the summer more difficult) .

Leaving selling a player until the Summer has potential advantages to the selling club in that a bigger demand and therefore price might be possible.
I can see the advantages to both sides in certain circumstances however of a sale and loan back arrangement.
I suspect the Werner sale will be left until the summer to create an Auction for his services.

Sorry ed, frank has said we won’t get our targets in January, will we look to getting a deal done for anyone now like we did with pulisic, sign and loan back, instead of getting into bidding wars and facing competition in the summer,
{Ed002's Note - Chelsea are not going to just buy random players for the sake of it. I have no idea what the coach has said but he has known all along that the two primary targets were not going to be attainable this month.}

Glad to hear we won’t buy for sake of it, was hoping we can get a deal done for our main targets now save more competition in the summer.
