So with Morinho gone and his hold over never losing to Arsene in a competitive match can we finally beat you next Sunday?

gunner62

1.) 18 Jan 2016 18:50:01
Nope Gunner62. We still going to come out on top, i just have the feeling.

2.) 18 Jan 2016 21:08:33
Well now we have helped you with one of your main weak spots G62, I fully expect you to win and win the league . That's unless you don't think Arsenal are strong enough to win the league, in which I am sure Roman will let you have Matic to sort out another problem area, I would also say he will probably let u have Costa, for the final piece of the jigsaw, but I doubt u would want him.

3.) 18 Jan 2016 21:30:40
I'd take Matic gladly Sid but as for Costa? Do you think Ian Dowie is busy these days :-)

4.) 18 Jan 2016 22:27:06
If you don't win the league this year gooner you never will . all the really big boys quiet. little teams like arsenal, Leicester and Spurs have a chance. you must be favourites and a mighty mishap if you muck this up.

5.) 18 Jan 2016 23:37:22
Cant argue with that G although I would say city are atleast making it a credible fight, just :-) .
A little bit like Larry Holmes era, you just can't find the decent opponents these days :-)

6.) 19 Jan 2016 12:59:54
Little teams like "Arsenal ", think u are asking for trouble there G8.

7.) 19 Jan 2016 14:17:24
Banter Side. That said, when did the Gooners last win it?

8.) 19 Jan 2016 17:58:14
2004 G.

Sid in answer to your question further down about would any Arsenal fans have taken Morinho at any time in the last 10 years, for me yes please.
The mourinho first time round was brilliant for not just Chelsea but for the premier league, I don't remember the football being that poor or Mourinho being bitter at all he played mind games better than Fergie and did it in a very entertaining way with humour or at worst a touch of sarcasm that you just couldn't help but lagh at.
His press conferences were a must for all fans because he either made outrageous predictions that came true ( we will win the league at Bolton on such and such a date:-) or he cracked everybody up with very funny answer's to the media questions.
Sadly that mourinho no longer exists his time in Italy and Spain have made him bitter and his personality has changed him from someone who everyone would like to meet to someone best avoided he's, shame.

1.) 06 Nov 2015 11:34:52
Can I jusk ask you, when you beat city last season by defending and counter-attacking you all called it masterpiece by wenger but as mourihno does it is boring :D.

2.) 06 Nov 2015 17:03:37
I think you may have misunderstood my post about the football a little, I was referring to the post lower down.
I thought 1st half of last season your football was excellent and the second half professional.
I've no problem with mourinho style of play at all, the question was would any of you Arsenal fans have taken mourinho at anytime in the last 10 years regardless of the football and my answer was yes with open arme the morinho of Chelsea MK1 Edition, I fail to see where Arsenal v man city fits in?

3.) 06 Nov 2015 17:41:02
LRDlt,
That was 1 game out of 38, Mourinho does it 38 out of 38, lol.

4.) 06 Nov 2015 18:21:32
LRD, it is not Arsenal fans that think Chelsea are boring. It is all fans of football. Please do not pretend it is some ridiculous theory that Arsenal fans have come up with. Nobody likes watching you mate, everybody can't be wrong.

5.) 06 Nov 2015 18:53:23
Yes Jose is a brilliant manager but have to agree the football is boring most of the time. That's what prompted my original question, would you put up with Jose style football if it guaranteed trophies. Hard question and many different opinions. Think if I had another son I would call him Jose Wenger or Arsene mourino, and hope he is the perfect manager.

6.) 06 Nov 2015 19:03:10
Blimey Ubistonk Gunner! You're telling me no-one enjoyed watching Chelsea last season up until Christmas when we tore the league apart?

7.) 06 Nov 2015 20:59:40
2014 Chelsea were excellent to watch and the second half of the season only effective but still looked like Barcelona compared to man utd.
Over the summer Chelsea FC somehow turned 100% into José Morinho FC the worst product rebrand since opral fruit's became starburst.

8.) 06 Nov 2015 21:11:41
Most people probably don't think Chelsea play attractive football, and I don't blame them. That said (and I'm not taking this season into account right now), I love it when my team puts on a defensive masterclass. There's something about completely stifling the opposition that I find very enjoyable.
So it's a question of whether you only enjoy good offense or enjoy both offense and defense.

9.) 06 Nov 2015 22:27:12
To be fair Jackson I think one of the best games in the world cup was the Argentina v Holland game that was 0 0, people complained but I actually enjoyed and appreciated the defensive side of that game.

10.) 07 Nov 2015 10:33:49
I'm glad to hear that, G62, as most people tend to forget football is both attack and defense. So when people call defending "antifootball" I tend to be slightly annoyed by it.
That's just how I see things. And it's like that in all sports actually. I started liking the Boston Celtics (and Kevin Garnett) because their defense was so so good. In NFL I'm a Ravens fan, and again they're known for their defense.
Defending can be beautiful in its own right, people just have to appreciate it.

11.) 07 Nov 2015 11:52:02
The Barcelona side that beat utd in the champions league final 2009 were amazing technically and unbelievably difficult to get the ball off but the thing that impressed me so much about them that night was there work rate when they did lose possession.
For me that was perfection being the best to watch and the hardest working side on the planet.
The way they totally dominated the then best team in England who had won the premier league by a distance that night made me so pleased Arsenal hadn't made the final that season and been on the receiving end of that performance :-)

12 Sep 2015 19:54:05
Incredible that some of you want mourinho out at the fist sign of trouble :-)
I don't like the person he is at all but as a manager who do you replace him with? Brendan Rogers :-)
Some Arsenal fans would back Arssne for another 100 years of retaining the 4th place trophy even if he never spent anotyer penny on players and it seems some Chelsea fans turn on their manager quicker than Messi can turn a defence.
Next week will be interesting because if we lose 100 0 Wenger will be as safe as house's but if you dominate for 89 mins and we get a fluke goal that is deflected of the referees note book onto a passing pigeon and into your goal mourinho will be in very serious trouble, both extremes seem bizare to me

1.) 12 Sep 2015 19:58:01
Klopp is the only one I'd be tempted to try but I agree let's stick with Jose 100%

2.) 12 Sep 2015 20:21:31
G62 again showing common sense that is lacked by many Chelsea fans. We need to realise every team has slumps like this. We haven't had one for a while. We will recover. Now time to sort out the true Chelsea fans from the knee jerk glory hunters.

3.) 12 Sep 2015 20:38:00
No Klopp for me. Mourinho is the perfect man for the job.

4.) 12 Sep 2015 22:06:05
I'd rather have a bad patch at the start of the season than at the end. Hopefully we'll get back to winning ways soon.

5.) 12 Sep 2015 22:11:23
Mou all the way, am I upset yep, do I feel disappointed yep again, do I for a second think Jose isn't the man? No, if anyone can he can. Keep the faith.

6.) 12 Sep 2015 23:37:19
Gunner you do realize that us fans don't sack or hire managers. The frustrations that most (not all) are voicing about our manager were voiced as concerns the moment it was rumored that he was coming back to Chelsea. As a longtime participant on this site(reader mostly) I can tell you that every Chelsea fan respects Jose and wants him to win here for the rest of his career even if we sometimes disagree with his tactics. I'm sure that nothing has been said here that comes close to some of what's been said about Wenger on your page over the years of his trophy drought and yet as you said he's "safe as a house" still your Club's manager because again, fans don't sack managers.
If we lose to you lot next match and if our owner decided to make a change the number one thing that would highlight is the difference in expectations and ambitions between Chelsea and Arsenal.

7.) 13 Sep 2015 00:02:40
Gunner62, to be fair, its a very small minority who want Mourinho out. I think most Chelsea fans will back Mourinho to the hilt.

8.) 13 Sep 2015 10:44:20
Rory that's a very fair comment mate my post was in response to some below and the people agreeing with it.
Bluelab its difficult to argue that the expectation and ambition levels between our clubs are as wide as the Atlantic, personally I think Chelsea have in the past and most probably will at some stage in the future been to quick to sack rather than back their managers Ancelotti tops that list for me, Arsene has absolutely no pressure what so ever on him and to me that's equally wrong after so many years of not putting in a title challenge. Only 1 team can win the league each season but its not unreasonable for Chelsea Arsenal utd and City fans to expect to be in the hunt 9 times out 10 going into May.

9.) 13 Sep 2015 10:47:12
One or two have indicated that JM is not up to it, probably the same two that were ecstatic about his return and performance last year. Because of his love, hate relationship with the press and I am sure we all agree, he doesn't help himself at times, they love to pile on the agony and rumours.

21 Jun 2015 08:37:27
If true a real touch of class from Chelsea in giving Petr Cech a sizable payout as a thank you before leaving, now bearing in mind if he does join us it will seriously strengthen our hopes of a real title challenge to me its a fantastic gesture from your club.
Credit where its due most clubs would use the payout to steer a player awaay from a rival but if Chelsea allow him to join us and still recognise his service with this payout it should be recognised as an absolutely class thing to do.

gunner62

1.) 21 Jun 2015 08:55:10
Yeah, didn't you already know that Chelsea is an awesome football club? ;-)
I'm happy the club don't stand in the way of players' wishes, though it's going to suck to see Cech in goal for you guys. If he joins you, you gain a world class keeper. I think a lot of people don't realise how good he still is because Courtois was first choice for us. But that save from Cech on Lukaku in the Everton game this season tells you all you need to know. He's still amazing.
Good luck to Big Pete, wherever he ends up.

2.) 21 Jun 2015 17:49:12
I love Cech but finally I got to write this one.

I hoped him can support us a little bit in getting something back from Arsenal. At least a tooth for a tooth, they take our GK, who is one of the best. We could have taken a winger from them - they got many players for that position. However, he was too enthusiastic in signing them that left us a bad position in this deal - we can do anything except accepting that.

Cech can play until late 30s with high quality like Buffon now. he's not a player that over his prime. He will perform well for at least 4 more years.

16 Jun 2015 09:54:09
On a personal level would you let Cech go where he and his family wanted to be as a thank you for his great service to your club or would you say business is business you've been paid very very well for your services and you go where we say you can go?

gunner62

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea would not stand in his way.}

1.) 16 Jun 2015 11:58:08
I'd let him choose where he ends up. The man is absolute class, he deserves that. It won't be fun to see him play for Arsenal or United or whoever else, but he deserves it. He's won everything here with us and played a huge part in all the success. It just had to happen that Courtois developed so rapidly. The right decision has been made by the club (to make Courtois number 1 keeper), but Cech is a legend and can go wherever he wants.

2.) 16 Jun 2015 18:52:50
I agree Jackson although you might expect that :-) but I think sometimes there's a special case's where a player has given fantastic service where the clubs should put aside it's best interest and show the human side of the game.

3.) 17 Jun 2015 09:43:44
I don't think chelsea would stand in his way but I'm sure Jose would. Look what happened with galas and cole.

I think everyone is impressed by Kante Sid and lots of clubs especially Premier league will be inquiring about him now and in the summer, it would be quite refreshing if he repaid Leicester by turning his back on big money for a couple of seasons and continued to ride their wave for a bit.

Totally agree Sid if not this season then when will Arsene ever make us champions again, I'd say failure for us to finish top 2 this season given yourselves Liverpool and utd are all having a season off would be Arsenes worst season so far IMO.
