Is there any recent interest In Douglas Costa ed? He keeps coming out saying he would love to work with Chelsea and Mourinho. It's quite annoying really I don't want to see us sign another bang average midfielder with no end product. Just hope he shuts up.

Zola

{Ed002's Note - I suspect there is a very good chance he will come in when Salah leaves. However, Barcelona are looking at him for next January - effectively as a replacement for Pedro.}

1.) 13 Mar 2015 13:36:17
Noooooo! I want Bertrand Traore to get a place in the first team. He's already ours and he's a very good player in his own right!

2.) 13 Mar 2015 13:36:39
Well that's bad to hear. Hope we don't sign another bang average Brazilian. I'd prefer to see us go for Pedro.

{Ed002's Note - The club has considered him as an option.}

3.) 13 Mar 2015 18:09:46
Douglas Costa will be another average winger who is not good enogh, ridiculous signing!

11 Mar 2015 13:48:50
I'm struggling to think of any good left footed centre backs. If we wanted to replace Terry with one. Laporte is the only one I could name.

Zola

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea are looking to Marquinhos and Varane as centre backs. Note the AND.}

1.) 11 Mar 2015 15:22:47
Imagine us signing both Marquinhos and Varane. Then them plus Zouma and Cahill sticking around basically gives us our centre backs for the next decade :-P
That'd be immense, however unlikely it is to happen.
Cheers Ed.

2.) 17 Mar 2015 04:27:03
Both would be great along with Zouma whine think has been outstanding when played. Keeping Terry for experience and guidance would be useful. Cahill, not so much, great in the opposition box, useless if someone running at him directly or otherwise. Sell on, better players coming through the youth

11 Mar 2015 10:07:39
Ed is there any interest in PSG from Azpilicueta?

Zola

{Ed002's Note - Last summer there was and we dealt with it at the time. They do have an interest in Ivanovic.}

07 Mar 2015 16:06:54
Anything new regarding Vidal Ed?

There's a lot about Juventus selling him for as little as 14m which would be a bargain and he's apparently getting back to his best.

Zola

{Ed002's Note - Nothing involving Chelsea but Vidal will leave Juve this summer.}

I'd actually like to see Salah brought back next year. I think he could be really good at LW with Hazard RW.
Especially if we're going to sign another average attacker going forward in Douglas Costa. Also still waiting for Cuadrado to get his run in the team. 10 minutes here and there aren't good enough.

Zola

{Ed002's Note - It is pitiful to see you call Costa average and want someone back who did not settle. Hopeless.}

1.) 16 Mar 2015 16:54:53
When you've seen costa play ed let me know. He is average at best. Unless we go for someone like Reus who will actually be world class then it is a waste of time.

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea walked away from Reus - and we don't need your ignorance about me either.}

2.) 16 Mar 2015 17:23:10
so yopu think costa is better than salah then?

{Ed002's Note - I have not tried to compare players and I don't appreciate your trying to put words in my mouth. Salah failed to settle in England - it is not difficult to understand for most people, but I appreciate from your comment you are obviously not the brightest.}

3.) 16 Mar 2015 17:26:05
Im sure you watch a lot of Ukrainian football Zola.

4.) 16 Mar 2015 20:58:32
Failed to settle? Or not given a decent run in the team. And to be fair who would want to play in a team with a manager who likes to sit back. He soon settled in to Italy. No excuses Mourinho likes big prices ready made stars. Salah and de bruyne should never have been let go of. As for mata, Oscar has failed in my eyes, at least mata got 20 goals, 36 assists. And schurrle he wanted to go, apparently home sick aswell from I've been told. Can't hold a player back if that's feelings, big shame though.

5.) 16 Mar 2015 21:16:23
Zola, if you're the fountain of all knowledge, set up your own page instead of giving Ed hassle.

6.) 16 Mar 2015 21:54:06
Is the phrase Fountain of knowledge?? I've been saying it wrong all this time lol

16 Mar 2015 00:15:31
It was interesting to see on motd 2 they were talking about hazard moving to no.10 and how most teams best players are now playing centrally like Bale was during his last year for spuds. I'd love to see him play there against hull to give us some intent going forward which we've been lacking. i'd like to see it given a go with Oscar dropped and then have Cuad - Hazard - Willian as our three behind Costa.

He was amazing there during his Lille days.

Zola

{Ed018's Note - I will second that idea. Right now Oscar is offering nothing playing in that role and I think Hazard would be brilliant playing there}

15 Mar 2015 12:37:41
Gutted to see no Zouma, Luis or Cuadrado in the line up today. Defensive full back in a game we need to win. Willian aswell who offers nothing going forward.

Zola

1.) 15 Mar 2015 12:58:17
Would of liked Luis to start, big shame
Would of wanted Remy over Costa
Would of wanted Caud over Oscar
Zouma over Cahill all day

Me thinks this lineup is Jose saying 'show us what you can do'. I don't have much confidence and see this ending 1-1 :/

Let's go boys! Still half an hour away, let's hope I stay awake, got 4 mothers (energy drinks) with me and just drinking a coffee lol

13 Mar 2015 01:45:19
Alright lads just a bit of fun to keep this page updated. Join in if you want ed.

If you could see 4 players play a lot more for Chelsea who you think haven't had enough gametime who would they be?

Here's mine:

• Filipe Luis - One of the worlds best LB's last season along with Alaba. I think it's disrespectful how he's been treated.

• Ruben Loftus-Cheek - I'm a very big fan as you may no lol, reminds me of Ballack a fare bit and I think he's more than good enough when needed to rotate the squad.

• Cuadrado - still settling in I suppose but I want to see him start and deliver now because I'd put him ahead of Willian and Oscar in terms of quality.

• Remy - A classy striker who has a lot of pace and power yet we're still bringing on Drogba as sub? Baffles me. One of the deadliest strikers in the league and he's getting to the prime age. He's more than good enough to play all COC and FA Cup games next season to give Costa a rest. Wouldn't blame him if he left.

Zola

{Ed001's Note - Ake? I do agree with those you chose though, so just throwing another name out there. Interesting to see Kakuta is reportedly doing well this season, speaking of players that should have got more game time with Chelsea.

Speaking of which, it was interesting to see Ray Wilkins talking about how he had told Chelsea that Matic was never a Chelsea player when he was first there. The reason he gave when talking about? Because he was too skinny! English football has still not learnt the lesson that football isn't about being strong and tough. No wonder the Prem teams struggle in Europe.}

1.) 13 Mar 2015 08:27:01
Exactly ed, zero technical ability, just players with brute force and players that run themselves to the ground.

It's Embarrasing, anyway to the question

Felipe Luis
Ake
Remy
Zouma or RLC

2.) 13 Mar 2015 11:09:00
good post.

id go with the following

- remy
- zouma
- ake
- luis

remy in my ideal team right now would be RW. controversial?
zouma has outplayed cahill in small games and big game, its a matter of time until he is first choice.
ake IMO would have played a lot more had it not been for injuries around sep/oct/nov.
luis should start every game against teams who are not rivals or stoke. when we are attacking he should play.

back to the RW. currently matic and fab should sit behind the trio. clearly Oscar is playing poorly and should be dropped. with that being said willian must play through the middle leaving cuad and rami fighting it out for RW. But neither are clinical and despite a poorer work rate tracking back (which willian could make up for) I think remy would suit it. the guy has something to prove at this level!

3.) 13 Mar 2015 14:12:50
Good idea for a post mate :)
I'd go with the following players:
- Luis
-Remy
-Cuadrado
-RLC/Ake

Luis I think is an obvious one. He's a fantastic left back, great at tackling IMO. Offensively he's also a menace. Very good at making those overlapping runs which would give Hazard the space he needs to destroy opponents and his crossing is top notch at times. As you said he should play more against teams that are likely to sit back and defend.
Remy also fairly straightforward. He's played well whenever called upon. He's IMO a good striker, both fast and strong enough to deal with EPL defenders. Also decent at dribbling and linking up with the attacking midfielders. He should definitely be getting more game time than Drogba. It's baffling how it's the other way around right now.
I'd pick Cuadrado as he hasn't got much time to show what he can do and link with the other attacking players. I hope he can be a real threat, but Mourinho has to give him some trust. And I also hope that his game isn't too shackled because he's overly worried by his defensive task.
A toss up between RLC and Ake for me. I'm a huge RLC fan and I'd love to see him play more. Fantastic ability and what gives him a big advantage over other young players is that he's physically capable to deal with grown men I think. That said, Ake has been around the first team for a while now and I've never been disappointed by him when he's been given a chance. Good young player in his own right. Defensively sound and good on the ball with crisp passing (nothing fancy but can keep the ball moving). So maybe this year I'd like to see more of Ake and then more of RLC as well next year.

4.) 13 Mar 2015 17:30:00
Good idea mate but does it matter? Jose just picks the same team ffs Ake can't even get a game when we have all players out in his position, this can't be right.
Honestly if we sign Douglas Costa I'll run head first into a wall of my choice.

To keep it going though I'd say
Remy
Ake
Cuadrado

5.) 13 Mar 2015 17:48:49
Mine 4 would be

Zouma
Remy
ake/rlc
luis

Probably there is no point of stating the points why I would like to see them more as it is alreasy done in other posts. Just in my eyes Remy and Zouma should play more than drogba and cahill, while luis is a hard call as azpi and ivanovic are superb too

6.) 13 Mar 2015 19:58:34
Agree with most peoples choices, its honestly quite hard to choose as we have a number of quality players who maybe should be getting more time on the pitch and I fully agree with ed01 kakuta, given his debut by ancelotti, looked destined to be a world beater but injuries and poor choice of loans cost him. On to the 4 players, mine would be;

Luis - quality lb and a much better option in an attacking side.

Zouma - as everyone has surely noticed, Cahill is looking out of place and / or nervous. Zouma is better in the air, quicker and should go on to become one of the best defenders in the world.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek - I struggle to see where he would fit in if Oscar is on form but I think playing him alongside Matic with Fabregas playing in the #10 position would see us dominate the middle of the pitch.

Solanke - If we're going to let Remy go and Drogba retires he should be third choice behind Costa and whoever comes in (Icardi)? Knows how to find the back of the net and is quick.

7.) 13 Mar 2015 21:20:56
To your point of Kakuta. Maybe his loans weren't the best but there were also some people at the club that said that it was in large part due to his own work ethic. It's not always the club's fault if a superbly talented player doesn't pan out.

8.) 15 Mar 2015 10:46:11
Its a mixture of both imo, failed loans and work ethic

Like ravel Morrison, however he failed due to being a complete tosser, ability aplenty, absolute tosser though and wasted his potential, hate players like that.

12 Mar 2015 18:23:59
There has been a lot today saying about Costa and Fabregas's dip in form. They said that Fabregas always has a not as good 2nd half of the season which I'm not too worried about. I would like to see him back up at no.10 though in place of Oscar. A lot of people disagree with him there but I like it. I think you need your best attacking players to play closer together and our three are Fabregas, Hazard and Costa. So if we're playing 4-2-3-1 I'd have Cesc as no.10, Eden LW and Diego up front so they're closer together. We also need to give Cusdrado his run in the team now at RW.

Zola

1.) 12 Mar 2015 21:02:21
The problem is we play so deep, so many times yesterday we had Matic, Fabregas and Hazard in our own half when we had position, this draws Costa outside and a complete number mismatch. We need Matic sitting and Fabregas pushing up giving the ball early to our attackers in their attacking positions high up the field, with Costa central. Positive tactics, positive tempo and positive pressing!

2.) 12 Mar 2015 21:44:01
You're right, PB. We didn't have a lot of the ball close to PSG's goal, but even when we did there was at most one player in their box (and that one guy wasn't even Costa as he was constantly drifting wide to get the ball). We can't realistically expect to score if we have so little guys in dangerous positions.

I totally agree mate. Waste of money again. We have a player who is one of the best in the Dutch league on loan and were buying someone from a worse league with like 2 goals and 5 assists. Traore or even Boga who probably has a better end product would be better 5th choice.

I'd like to see Koke replace Oscar then move Fabregas to no.10 the closest he is to Hazard and Costa the better he'll be IMK. Koke'S quite a broad chap and has a great work rate and I think we'd be more solid with them two there.

I reckon Remy, Costa and Hazard could be lethal bit like Anelka, Drogba and Malouda full of goals. Would be too attacking for mourinho though.

Waste of time playing youth in a dead wood game. Doesn't get them use to the pace of BPL. I'd have started Loftus-Cheek next to Matic today with Willian as no.10. Cuadrado needs to be RW at least he takes a player on.
