Good Afternoon everyone, a gooner here with a genuine question about the CWC. First off good luck tonight, bring the cup back to the Premier League!
So with hindsight are you happy with this extra competition, on top of all the other games played throughout the season? Obviously this could impact any club going forward so I'd be interested to know how you all feel.
Secondly I'm appalled at a small section of our "fans" regarding our expected signing of Noni Madueke. I've long been an admirer of this lad's skills and I am happy to welcome him to Arsenal. I can assure you that not all Arsenal fans are so full of bile.

Hi Sallyjannine, welcome, and thanks for the well wishes for tonight and positive words.
Personally, though it's really interesting to play teams from other geographical regions, and it's been amazing seeing what the competition means to the South American clubs in particular, I'm not a fan of what Infantino has tried to make of this competition, and the timing of it over the summer. I think it's quite telling that Pep was unhappy about it, and what he said made a lot of sense. Players need a rest, and we're likely to be exhausted going into next season. Plus there's the risk of injury to some of our important players, highlighted by Caicedo towards the end of the last game. Winning a competition is always nice, but let's face it – PSG are going to have an easier ride next season in their domestic league, and can probably afford it more than we can, besides the fact that they are absolutely stacked with talent and playing incredible football. I'm a bit worried (make that a lot worried) about Reece James's hamstrings if he ends up in midfield with their fast transitions.
Regarding your second point, Noni is a bit of an enigma. He can look incredible or really awful, game to game. Attitude was always the worry from him. He can be petulant, and isn't the type of player to grab the game by the scruff when others are off form. On the other side, his defensive work has really improved in the last couple of years, and I do think he's knuckled down a bit. His shooting can be erratic still, and given that he often shoots when a teammate is in a better position that can be frustrating. So either he needs to get his head up or work on his shooting. Maybe a change of scene, with some more experienced players to talk to him if he's not training right will really help him. He's got all the skills to be a top player. He could end up an excellent signing, I think, but (a bit like Havertz) it's genuinely really hard to call. Also, it seems a little strange that you're buying him as cover for Saka, but with Martinelli possibly being sold maybe to play more on the left. Someone might correct me here, but if memory serves he was more or less totally ineffective on the left.
Anyway, good luck for next season (having grown up with lots of smug Arsenal fan mates during the Invincibles era that is really hard for me to do in all honesty) . It'll be an interesting one. All the top sides strengthening in a slightly scary way. If you get Gyorkeres on top of Zubimendi and Lewis-Skelly staying put you'll likely be right up there again.

Hi Sally, thanks for the best wishes for tonight’s CWC final. It will be e tough to bring it back to the UK but fingers crossed.
The competition was one we could hardly turn our back on. So far we the club will be taking home an extra £80-90m and that can only help with future investments. I think the mana have to be careful how rotates players in the first months. I see that a few have already been told to take three weeks holiday and that’s deserved.
Regarding Noni, I was happy for us to keep him but not that bothered he has left. If that makes sense? I was told ages ago about his poor discipline and how the our manager has refused to play him a couple times because of this issue.
We all have supporters who embarrass the club they supposedly support and themselves. Good luck for next season and I hope you finish behind us in the premiership. ?.

Welcome to our page Sally and thankyou. The CWC has been great and a real honour to be representing the premier league. I think this competition is really going to grow in stature going forward so to make the final is great but now hoping to win it. The flip side is most of the players will now get 3 weeks off which does mean they will only have 1 week of pre-season training and that could impact our season but we do have a strong squad and Maresca loves to rotate players. Regards Noni, the mindless keyboard cretins who are trolling him are a disgrace to their families and to your club but sadly they are everywhere now due to the emergence of social media.

Sallyjannine, nice of you to wish us luck for tonight. As for Noni, I have found him frustrating but he has talent. I get the feeling that he and Maresca weren’t on the same wavelength. A new club and coach can bring out the best in players.

Greenaway, there is another way to look at this. The competition has been our pre-season training on a competitive level. I don’t really want this to be an excuse for a bad start to the season. Who knows it might be an advantage.

Hi I'm a gooner and I too am shocked at the negativity against my club! We definitely have dropped recently but in fairness (and I know all clubs have their issues) we really have missed having our front line players for most of the season which definitely hasn't helped.
Anyway I just popped by to say well done for today and good luck for the last few games as long as you don't knock us out of the top 4 lol.
