I've made this point before and I'll make it again.

All this talk of Chalobah, Baker and RLC leaving because we're signing Bakayoko! What would it say about them, and their own view of themselves, if they left because of competition?

Chelsea is not simply going to hand over the keys to the midfield to any of these players, no matter how talented they look at youth level football. A place in our midfield has to be earned and if those boys look at themselves and don't think they have what it takes to outperform Bakayoko in training and earn their spot then I'm sorry but they are not mentally suitable for a club like Chelsea and the level of football we play.

What if Lampard or Terry had that thought when RA started spending his millions on international stars all those years ago?

100% J, apparently in the summer Abramovich bought chelsea, lampard and terry got together and talked about all the new players coming in, and said this our club we will fight tooth and nail to make sure they stay and are successful, its a shame the youngsters today don't have the same mental strength and drive, they all got the talent i just hope they got the fight to go with it, and training must have a huge impact on getting game time, with a manager like conte im sure if a youngster is training better, longer, harder than a senior player im sure they will get the chance.

Terry an lampard were alrwady establisbed footballers when that happened so u can't compare that to the likes of chalobah and rlc who never played much.

established yes in a team that did not challenge for the league or champions league, john terry and lampard never played champions league until the season abramovic turned up, so if chalobah or rlc was playing for a team who was finishing 5,6 or 8th then maybe they would be established as well.

Maybe but the fact is there not and the fact is jt and lampard were established premier league players who helped chelsea get top 4 the season before roman took over so you can't put that in the same bracket and people like loftus cheek who every time he gets a run he looks so lazy its embarrasing and i do agree chalobah could an probably deserves more of a chance than he gets. i really think he doesn't put a foot wrong when he plays.

Established in a team. who helped chelsea finish 4th before abromavich took over chalobah and rlc haven't laced the boots yet. You cannot make a stupid comparison like that my friend. jt was in the chelsea first team 4 years at that stage and was an established starter, so was lampard. even though he was new to chelsea he established himself at west ham before we signed him.

the summer RA took over us frank lampard was 24 years old and had 5 england caps and no goals for them, at the age of 22/ 23 he never played at the world cup in 2002,so yes he played for chelsea most weeks, he was never top class back then, and we had to seasons finishing 6th in a row back when the league was a lot weaker, only man u and aresanal for the leagues, compared to let's say ross barkley at everton who sniff around 6th place ross is 23 years old and has 22 england caps and 2 goals for them, if chalobah played for everton week in week out and got 5 england caps in the next 18 months he would have the same as lampard at the same age, i don't think its impossible for chalobah to get promoted from under 21 and get 5 caps in next 18 months, and we are the best team in england we just won the league so all them yeras ago it would be like lampard playing in a team like man u who had scholes and keane in his position, so he wouldn't have got a game at utd same as chalobah at chelsea at similar points in there life.

I think oersonally he deserves a chance signing bakayoko basically for me means conte has no faith in him. and that means wel never see our youth team players progress which is sad . rlc definetly isn't good enough he needs a loan to prove himself and he needs to show more effort when he startd. traore been sold is a shame . i think its awful how sucessfull our youth teams are an they never get a chance cause we just buy buy buy.

yeah i know what your saying but its sink or swim time, the youngsters got to make such a good impression that they play, they have a chance on loan look at courtois he was on loan at madrid and we had cech, the rest is history, it wouldn't suprise me if we never bought a cb and give christenson a chance, but he has to be amazing in training and amazing in preseason, the point i was trying to make with chalobah is he could go and play for any mid table team or 7th 8th 9th position team and he would get senior caps for england, he just got to dig his heels in wait, and force his way in through training, preseason, early rounds of cups, and when he gets his chance he has to make sure he grabs it with both hands and keep it, most youngsters would prefer to leave because its easier than fighting for there lives, traore don't have to go to france he could dig his heels in and say no im under contract for a few years im going to reject there contract and im going to fight for a place in chelsea team.
