Fingers crossed. Will allow Courtois to develop even further and bring some transfer funds in the bank. Win Win

Make them fight, if courtios gets injured 5 games into the season. Cechs a pretty good back up. I can see it happening. Then everyone will moan that we let him go. Get rid of Mikel or Torres.

You reckon cech would want to be back up? the guy could walk in to 99% of any team in the world. in an ideal world for me. get rid of torres, cech and mikel. Matej Delač looked good in preseason. bring in any other striker, ANY, one that looks like he wants to play. I honestly would take bamford as a third striker, regardless of whether he is ready

Delac can't get a work permit, so he wouldn't be an option. The club has to force the issue and try to get Courtoisto sign a new deal. we don't want to be in a position where Cech leaves and Courtois refuses an extension.

If a player is under contract then tuff. Work hard get game time. But I'm questing it was alright for him to take over from cudicini?

Delac doesn't ne working permitt since he has Croatian passport. Croatia is EU member.

Any ed's what's the update on chelsea signing any youngsters. The likes of Rabiot who has only a year left on his contract?
2- are chelsea still interested in Varane or has it moved onto Benatia?
Cheers

JM dismissed Benatia interest.

And yet we have been informed that the club hold an interest in the player. I wonder if perhaps JM was telling a porky?

Any chance we could snap up khedira after he was left out of the Real Madrid squad for the super cup final game?

I don't get why Mourinho is willing to keep Torres, is it a case that no one wants him or does Mourinho still wants him at the club, any news on anymore signings?
thank you

Maybe he is just to hard to sell. High wages and inconsistent form does not sell well.

Torres isn't inconsistent at all. He is always rubbish.

Surely we could put him out on loan somewhere. Send him to Vitesse.

£175,000 A WEEK - NUFF SAID!

Do you really think that quality striker would cost less than 120-150k per week net. It means double 240-300k per week. Torres is on 5m€ per annum which means he is on around 80k per week net. Just to remind you that Falcao is on 14m€ net. In UK his salary would be around 28m€ or 22m£ per year or more than 400k per week gross which is much more than160jk per week which is Torres current salary.

Is there a priority / preference between Varane and Benatia?

We looked good last night. Team coming together. Would be nice to have another striker come in but unless Torres goes I can't see that happening. Also be nice to get another top class centre back who is ready now. Yes, I know we have some excellent young players coming through but I would be concerned if we lost JT and his leadership at the back. Ake at leftback looks very accomplished and I think he may breakthrough this season hence we didn't go for Shaw

I agree about Ake, I thought he looked very good last night and considering he is only 19 he has a very bright future ahead if he continues to work hard and progress like he is doing.

So pre season is done and tonight I thought we looked stronger than any other game so far. Can't wait for Monday now. Burnley will be one of the most perfect starts for us to have. It'll give the team a chance to prove that they have matured a lot more and can break down and finish off the 'smaller' clubs, which ultimately cost us the title last season. And with Costa looking to be the best acquisition of the summer by any club so far, things can only get better.
On a side note, has anyone else been impressed in the last 2 games with Oscar and Willian? They look very fresh and hungry. Running at defenders and committing them a lot more which is what they are best at doing, just sometimes don't do it enough

Can't wait for Monday too, great opportunity to get some goals and hopefully Costa on the scoresheet early on in the league.
I've thought Oscar's looked great, almost to the level he was at the start of last season, making good passes, being direct, he's been good, and hopefully he can continue that throughout the season. I was impressed by Willian last night too, the previous game I mentioned how he sometimes took too long on the ball, but last night it was as if he had read mine (and other fans') comments and upped his game, I thought the whole team looked great last night.

Oscar looked great? Really?
I think when fabregas played in that role we looked a lot better with ramires and matic sitting.

Hazard hasn't looked 100% fit to me,, hoping he hits ground running., also I wonder If costa becomes like giroud and as our only capable goalscorer and becomes tired and over played? Torres seems so dis interested nowadays
