Hey folks, I have 2 questions for You all and if You care to elaborate on why that would be great.

1) If You were appointing the New Chelsea Manager, who would it be?

2) Who do You actually think the Club will appoint as the New Manager?


I would go for Pochettino as He's Young and Hungry for success.
Is a modern coach who gets His Players motivated and to buy into His Team Ethic.
Plays a high tempo, attacking game but doesn't compromise too much on the defending.
Speaks and understands English and has been working for a number of Years now in the Premier League so is not an unknown quantity.

However this would need a shift in the way the Club is run imo.


I think they'll go for Conte as He's a free agent after the Euro's and has been open about His desire to return to Club Management.
Is seen as quite a high profile Manager which Roman seems to like.
Was very successful domestically with Juventus and was labelled a tactical genius.
A fiery, determined, meticulous Coach who demands a lot of His Players but without the histrionics and media playing of Mourinho.
And as daft as it sounds has a great relationship with Paul Pogba who Chelsea covet.

Looking forward to any replies that follow this one.

1. It's tough because my top two choices that we've been linked (tentatively) with are pochetino and Simeone. I like pochetino for the reasons you listed; integrates youth, familiar with England, and plays a really nice style of football. Like Simeone because he would have the most positive impact in terms of personnel and he also integrates youth. He ensures that Costa and courtois stay and gives us the best chance at acquiring Griezzman. With that said I can't see pochetino leaving Spurs this summer period and we'd have to qualify for the champions league to get someone.
2. I think Antonio Conte is the most likely person to be our next manager. He has the least obstacles to overcome being as he's out of contract in the summer. Overall I find him to be a fine coach although he's only managed in Italy and he had a team far superior to the competition. I also fear he would try and implement a back three which I don't think is as successful in England as other systems and our squad isn't built for this system.

For me the answer to both questions is Conte. I agree with t. k about Juventus being far superior than other teams in Italy but this wasn't the case prior to Conte taking over. Them being the the force they are right now is pretty much down to him.

I do also share a concern about his 3-5-2 formation, mainly because I think it could be caught out defensively in the Premier League, however I don't think the squad, and it not being suited to the formation, will be a problem. This is because I see a huge overhaul of players in our squad over the summer, it's conceivable that Hazard, Oscar, Diego Costa and others could all be off. Conte could then sign the players that suit his style of football.

If I was really dreaming then the one player I would love to see him bring in is his international midfielder - Marco Verratti. He could run the show in our midfield for years to come; I actually see him as a better, more consistent, player than Pogba right now.

Poch appears to need 18 months to get going, so whilst it's a nice idea, I don't think he'd last.

I'd be happy with Simeone, Allegri, or Conte.

Out of left field though, Frank De Boer's Ajax pasted a good Man City side (with some style) two years ago and think he'd be worth a punt. Also the Chilean coach would fit some criteria despite it being a risky move.

1. My ideal manager for Chelsea would be either Joachim Löw (which is probably impossible) or to stick with Guus Hiddink, which I also think is impossible, since he isn't considered a huge name. I think Löw's style of play and flair is amazing, and I think he'd be a good, stable manager for the future. Likewise, I think Guus Hiddink has a good flair, and I really cherish the fact that both of these managers seem to have good relationships with their players.
2. I think they'll appoint Simeone as their new manager, considering all the rumours that have been flowing the past weeks.

I have always thought Simeone was ideal. Strong and motivates players and stands no nonsense. Not speaking English is the big downside as I think you have to be able to communicate; not quite so important with a multi-national team but it is with officials and management. Pochettino picked up the language quickly and I have no doubt the two have spoken.

I think it will be Simeone or Conte. It will need to be someone with a charisma and track record if we are going to attract the players we want as last pre-season was an absolute disgrace.

I also think Hazard and Costa will be gone and we need to capitalise on Oscar's value.

If we went for conte we would probably see ruben loftus cheek come through as look at what conte did with pogba. also I do think we would have the means to cope with three at the back as when zouma returns he has the required pace, one of Marquinhos and stones would be able to hack it too and some experience In the form of terry/ ivanovic/ Cahill would help organise it better too.

A good question. I like the way Pochettino plays and he develops young players so he would be my choice but I can't see Levy letting it happen. I imagine it will be Simeone and I think he will do well although his pragmatic counter attacking style is similar to Jose's. As for player's I don't think Stones will join us nor Pogba. Griezmann maybe a possibility though.

1 I would love pochattino as I feel he would def bring through the youth, also he's building his rep as an attacking coach. Trouble is levy, Even if we went for him and even if he wanted to come there's levy a nightmare to deal with.
2 think club realise so I think allegri is there choice but would he leave juv for us, I would hope so.
I thought simeoni but do we need another hot head.
The worry is we end up making do and end up with the ex chile boss, barely speaks English and never managed here.

In all fairness Andrew, conte and sampaoli would also qualify as hotheads. And I agree entirely about levy. I don't think pochetino will have much motivation to leave Spurs with how next year is shaping up but levy will do whatever he can to eliminate the possibility.

Joachim Lowe for me in the first question.

And I really prefer Conte and Sampaoli to Allergi and Simeone (mostly because of his football style - he is a younger version for Mourinho with better man management but I want another football style - too tired with the style we play in the last decade already) .
