On the Totally Football podcast this week, Rafa Honigstein said that Conte will probaly move on in the Summer and that we've had early talks with Thomas Tuchel.

He's a decent journo but hopefully wrong on this occasion (albeit Tuchel would be a decent option if 'The Hammer' left. )

1.) 12 Oct 2017 18:40:22
In my opinion touchel is the complete and utter worse case, and all out attack manager who came in stuck tactically with Dortmund and fell out with there board, imagine him under our board and in prem if your not tactically on point it’s shows, it’s ok in Bundeslig where you have 4/ 5 tough games ( not opponents ) in the league, only manager is like would be Algeri, I’d be gutted if conte walked away. Such a top class manager, feel we couldn of backed him bit more,

2.) 12 Oct 2017 21:42:42
I really don't think Tuchel would be first choice if Conte did go. But they need to plan for succession.

3.) 12 Oct 2017 22:43:12
I never really pay any attention to the media nowadays but personally I'd be surprised if he did indeed stay. We're a club that likes to go through manager to manager whenever things go south not matter how highly rated you are or much you're loved by fans (Mourinho, Ancelotti) . If we fail to win anything this year or we fall far behind in the league he'll be gone as hard as it is to say. I remember reading a while ago as well that he wanted more control and to be seen as an actual manager rather than a "Head coach". Club is bigger than anyone so if he does go we'll move on as always, but this one would hurt more than any other.

4.) 13 Oct 2017 20:38:40
Big Sam anybody?

5.) 13 Oct 2017 22:50:02
My guess is that every football fan believes that the media/ press desperately try to undermine/ sensationalise all aspects of their club.
Chelsea as the best team in the world understandably attract a much wider media commentary than any other team.
The unfortunate thing is that most of the comments made by nearly all of the various forms of media are total rubbish!

6.) 16 Oct 2017 08:53:39
I'm with Matt on this. I don't like Tuchel, at all. He's an all out gungho attack manager, and unless you've got ridiculously talented attackers like City, that's not going to work. If Conte were to move on I would actually like us to maybe get Sarri. Brilliant coach, though it's doubtful he'd leave Napoli with them doing so well.

7.) 16 Oct 2017 11:18:01
I'd go with Sarri too, although he's equally as gungho.

14 Nov 2016 14:34:37
If there's any truth in the Verrati rumours I'm going to explode.

1.) 14 Nov 2016 18:27:53
I don't see why where would he fit in in our formation? Matic (probably the most assists on our team), Kante is a workhorse that runs all day and the two wing backs are working well at the moment and we don't use an attacking mid (matic an kante seem to be both attacking and defending) . I just don't see where he would fit in to be honest.

2.) 14 Nov 2016 19:17:43
Fair point but Verrati is a bit special.

3.) 14 Nov 2016 19:44:39
I really really rate the guy, I think he's class and would love us to sign him, he reminds me of a dirty Xavi, technically awesome, more mobile than matic, who I have nothing against and is back to his best, but I think he's about to become the best cm in the world, I think he's only 23/ 24 years old got 10 years in him, I love his nasty side, a bit like Paul scholes, I would say his only weakness is probly height, physical presence I suppose, although the best player of the last 10 years is 5 ft 7 and 10 stone 2, (messi) and the last 2 players of the year in the English prem are mahrez and hazard, so it shows class over power will win.

4.) 14 Nov 2016 19:55:37
Plus you can't win anything with just 11 players, too many games in a season and a good competition keeps the players honest.

5.) 14 Nov 2016 20:46:29
Very true I'm not against it by any means Just curious as how it would work!

6.) 14 Nov 2016 21:06:40
Verrati would walk into our team.

21 May 2016 14:46:52
Hi Ed's

The latest centre back we're linked with appears to be Koulibaly from Napoli, is he one of the options we're looking at?

He's had a very good year, and is (apparently) not paid so well, so sounds good to me.

27 Apr 2016 17:49:12
A bit of a random rumour but it makes some sense. Is there any interest in Jovetic from Chelsea?

1.) 27 Apr 2016 20:14:08
While Conte was Juventus coach he wanted Jovetic badly at Juventus.
IMO present rumours are pure guessing due to previous history. On the other hand Chelsea was interested in Jovetic before he joined Man. City.
Anyway I still believe present rumours are pure speculation.

2.) 27 Apr 2016 21:41:45
Yes probably, but Inter have an excess of forwards and he could be bought at a reduced price with a lot to offer (potentially) so it could be a consideration I guess?

29 Feb 2016 10:56:42

I hear we (amongst others) have scouted Dembele (Rennes) . Any idea where he's likely to end up?

15 Jan 2017 11:04:10
A moment for Alonso please.

I've seen him take a load of flack. I have no idea why?

He had a wand of a left foot, works like a horse, and adds height to our team.

Absolute class. A brilliant signing.

1.) 15 Jan 2017 18:26:54
Wand of a left foot? I agree with the other points but despite scoring 2 yesterday his shooting is pretty awful on the whole, he's missed a lot of chances. The first goal was with his right foot too!

2.) 15 Jan 2017 18:45:53
Stick him in a back four and he's probably awful but credit where it's due, he fits the formation really well and having a left footed player on the left side brings so much balance to our play.

3.) 15 Jan 2017 18:55:16
I'll stand by that, check out his free kicks and his long passes / crosses. He finds his man far more than most.

4.) 15 Jan 2017 21:39:21
Well said Nathswindon, the guy is class, his record in our side speaks for itself. How could anyone doubt him? 1 defeat at Spurs and won every other game he has played in! Ake is now good cover for him as well. We probably need a bit of cover on the other side though, Antonio of west ham would be nice to cover or compete with Moses.

30 Nov 2016 07:13:17
Is Niklas Sule one of the centre half we're looking at?

His highlights reel looks the business.

1.) 30 Nov 2016 08:24:39
I listened to Ed002's Everton podcast, and if I recall correctly Ed stated that we indeed hold an interest in Sule. However, Ed also said that Sule is happy at Hoffenheim and will stay there for another couple of years in all probability.
It's a shame, because he looks really good for a young defender.
Imagine a future back 3 of Zouma, Christensen and Sule. It's the stuff of dreams.

2.) 30 Nov 2016 10:35:40
Nice work Jackson.

3.) 30 Nov 2016 18:24:59
Zouma and Sule aren't the greatest on the ball think there's only room for one of them. If we are going for a CB it should be Romagnoli. Good on the ball and it'd be nice to have a left footer on his natural side.

4.) 30 Nov 2016 18:49:13
He might not be left footed, but Sule is really good on the ball actually.

5.) 30 Nov 2016 20:58:48
Looks great in possession to me. Agree with the point in general.

{Ed002's Note - Sule is of interest to Chelsea but does not want to be bench fodder elsewhere. He is well respected in Germany and is seen as a potential first team centre back at Chelsea, but the club will not give game time commitments to players. So it will be a hard sell but the club will look to do something if they can.}

6.) 30 Nov 2016 22:12:16
He looks like he knows what he is doing. Zouma/ Azpi Luiz and Sule?

7.) 01 Dec 2016 03:04:52
Is Christensen not a ball playing back? He looks better than Cahill on the ball, but I have not seen enough of him to say that for sure.

8.) 01 Dec 2016 08:00:29
Sule should be realistic. He might not play 100% of the games, but he's got to be confident of beating out Cahill as competition for a place. And hopefully we'll have some European football next season which would give us plenty of games to rotate and give everyone a good amount of time on the pitch.

28 Aug 2016 08:49:52
Is there any truth in the Brozovic rumours? (Apparently Chelsea and Arsenal are interested)

He's a nice player, could mean Matic or Fabregas would move on perhaps?

1.) 28 Aug 2016 13:05:42
Do you really think that Conte would give up world class player for good promising CM? Newspaper have to write something so they are writing all kind of BS(latest is about Fabregas). You are free to believe in Santa if you want, but try to think more realistic. Conte changed Chelsea significantly in tactical order(IMO on better). He wants to play with 3 CMs and 4141 is closest to his type of 352. IHO Oscar is fitting better than Fabregas but he probably has in mind that Fabregas has clinical pass and Oscar doesn't. So I believe that he will rotate those 2 players.
If we really sign Marcelo Brozovic(btw I like the player)all I can see is another loan for Chalobah. ATM we need left back and if there is any possibility left footed central back.

2.) 28 Aug 2016 15:52:26
Antibot. You just nailed it.

3.) 28 Aug 2016 15:53:15
I think when we have the 3 centre backs on, Ie return of Zouma and a new signing, cesc will start a lot more. We will see how we start doing over the next month here on, we've had a good start but against weaker teams. We're going to need a creater against the likes of Liverpool, Spurs and arsenal. I think we'll struggle without his influence.

4.) 28 Aug 2016 20:18:12
Well argued points one and all.

For what it's worth I don't believe in Santa, and I figured (given where the reports came from) it was just Brozovic's agent drumming up interest.

Regardless, I'm not convinced Conte will see Cesc as a starter and that may make him a restless player.

I think Matic will stay and play a lot this season.

5.) 28 Aug 2016 22:39:38
Great then we all agree about something. 😉.

21 Feb 2016 16:02:54
Had anyone been looking closely at Kante? Would he be of any interest to Chelsea?

{Ed002's Note - Try the Leicester page.}

1.) 21 Feb 2016 19:25:31
He has been mentioned on here and on most of the so called top teams sites. Been Leicesters best player this year along with mahrez.

10 Jan 2016 21:18:49
Have Chelsea any desire for our chance of Dybala in the future?

{Ed002's Note - I cannot speak about the future Nathan. For now he is not an option.}

So, I've googled it, and is either Frank or Didier.

Must be true! *sarcasm*.

There are countless times 002 has nailed it.

And why would you get offended by sarcasm? I actually find him funny.

It's a real shame that some people get sensitive and the rest of us miss out.

Baka made the champions league team of the season and has been playing whilst not fully fit.

Yesterday he sacrificed his game to play as holding midfield, it was an okay performance from him despite not playing his normal role.

He's far more complete tan Fabregas who cannot contribute against stronger teams because he get run all over.

Don't forget that this time last year some of you were slagging off Alonso.

Decent, but you really do miss a striker who can offer a target and hold the ball. Otherwise, a few very nice youngsters. Good luck.
