Well satisfied with a draw as we set up not to lose.
However I am assuming it was Moses scored the equalizer as the defence opened up straight down the middle like the Red Sea. This is not the first time this season that has happened and its a bit worrying.
By the way do you know if Niall Quinn has sent us hate mail as well as slating us all the way through the commentary. I had to turn the sound off as I found his totally anti chelsea voice irritating.
Thought we weren't great but did a job.

1.) Anfield has got its atmosphere, playing in the semi is not same as playing in the league. Although there were lot of individual mistakes. I don't know while Cahil and John Terry likes running parallel with an attackers. Cahill has got lots of defensive mistakes since December and should have blocked the shoot or what is the need for running if you can't make an attacker to lose his balance or block his shot? Sterling will still try his luck and run at our defense at Stamford bridge. As post man never ring twice, hope our DM will keep him quiet.

2.) 21 Jan 2015 09:45:54
I totally agree about the commentary - I actually thought during the game that the the commentator must be a Liverpool fan. Maybe worth a complaint to Sky.

3.) 21 Jan 2015 21:53:04
It was so incredibly biased. Everytime the was a foul against us etc, he was saying that we were cheating/diving or it was a soft decision blah blah blah. Was beyond annoying.

Hi ed
Just seen lavezzi again, he is exceptional and wouldn't be expensive in the overall scheme of things, maybe 12 million. I know he is 29 but if we get 2-3 years that would be great.
Is there serious interest or just another name touted about.
Thanks in anticipation

7052andrew

{Ed002's Note - I have explained that there is interest.}

1.) 25 Jun 2014 22:26:58
I know lavezzi is a great player, but surely with hazard, schurrle, Willian and salah we don need a winger. I'd rather these younger players get a chance ten loseing one of them. We need to concentrate on a left back, and another central mid, and a couple of strikers.

2.) Lavezzi can also play striker, and I like his guile, in contrast to Costa warhorse style. But would hope we would also have looked at Sanchez, now linked be some newspapers to LFC and would be frightening if playing alongside Suarez (specially if Suarez taught Sanchez how to sing his teeth into defenders!)

3.) VBS, I wouldn't worry bout Sanchez lining up next to Suarez. Sanchez would only be heading to Pool as a replacement for Suarez if at all.

Hi ed

Lots of speculation about hazard and psg. It also appears he is making hints he may wish to go. My question is do you think that there may be a deal to be done with cavani coming in. If so I assume it would be straight exchange or us receiving plus cavani.
My personal view is I don't want to lose him, but it is no good keeping players who want to leave. If it does happen then make them pay.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about, sorry.}

1.) I mean how strong is this story or is it just paper talk

{Ed002's Note - I really have no idea what you are talking about. And "strong"?}

2.) This is the exact reason I put the question to Ed002, not one week ago. Seems like its always going to be an uphill battle on this ppage.

3.) Eds already said it was a tongue and cheek comment he made and let's be honest he wants to be one of the best as it stands he is with the best coach in the world in the best league in the world on good money on the other hand players will always come and go were a team to offer a ridiculous sum of money the club would obviously consider it football is not only a sport but a business I personally thing he will be at Chelsea a couple more season possibly more then may head off to real madrid I can't see him leaving this year unless a record bid was made.

4.) We wouldn't sell him end of.

Hi ed
Can you tell me if there is any interest in someone taking luiz off our hands. I've heard of interest from barca and bayern but they apparently they won't look till summer. Just wondered if we could get rid before. Sorry to sound off hand but thought he was again very average and lazy with his passing. I hate to think what his pass completion percentage was today.

7052andrew

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of anyone looking to make an offer for him in January.}

1.) I heard that barca were looking at him now and we're going to bid in jan?

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea are not going to bid on their own players? Are you a Liverpool fan?}

Best team winning don’t know how we are so poor. Movement slow and ponderous. We look totally out of sorts. No urgency. I think we can kiss this goodbye. Let’s concentrate top four and cups. Just not strong enough, losing to two out of bottom three not good.

Second half no better. We look like we think it’s not going to happen. Hazard still poor.

09 Dec 2017 13:22:11
Well first half just finished. Very poor. Zapa poor, Bakayoko poor and hazard having a non going day so far.
They are winning 50/ 50s and ref doing us no favours, but stop throwing yourselves to the floor it’s embarrasing.
Moses on for zapa. Bakayoko off Willian on. Up the tempo get one and we will win. But we created nothing going forward.

Well I’m 8 minutes into Watford v Utd. Why in God’s name are we not all over Richarlisan. This boy is such a fantastic talent, he frightens the life out of teams. Maybe not the finished article in front of goal. But he would look good in blue.

1.) 28 Nov 2017 20:43:56
I think we had interest in him before he moved to Watford I believe but not 100% sure.

2.) 28 Nov 2017 21:54:22
Think he chose Watford as he thought ( knew ) he would play a lot more, bit wild in front of goal. v us missed 2 absolute sitters but has everything to be top player.

3.) 28 Nov 2017 23:18:21
This football is not from today, he was playing very well at fluminense.

4.) 29 Nov 2017 12:48:12
I remember we had an interest in him and some on here weren’t happy being linked with another « Brazilian talent ».

14 Nov 2017 20:23:54
Watched the Italy debacle last night, two things were abundantly clear after that.
1. We dodged a massive bullet when we missed out on Cadreva. He absolutely average to poor.
2. Again abundantly clear was do not waste money on Bellotti. Again ok he didn't come on till late but, there was nothing that made me think we need him.
This was just my opinion on what I saw, I wondered if I was alone in this view.

1.) 14 Nov 2017 22:52:14
I'm also glad we didn't go for Belotti, at least for the prices thrown around last summer. He might turn out to be the real deal but at the moment a club would be paying a huge premium on hype.

2.) 15 Nov 2017 19:33:25
Huge amount of money for a player who’d only had one good season. I worry if we buy a partner for morata and play 352 then what about hazard? Think money can be spent on winger/ inside forwards, carrasco Fekir Pulisic? Not sure if other wingers tbh.

3.) 16 Nov 2017 10:13:43
One for the teenagers: Belotti reminds me of Tony Cottee - and Tony Cottee was never good enough for Chelsea even when we were shite!

4.) 18 Nov 2017 10:37:50
Ahem!

Very good shout J. The problem with Bakayoko seems partly down to concentration also the fact he has come from the French league which is nowhere near the pace and intensity of the premiership. He has shown some quality and a lot of strength. So I think play Drinkwater who is premiership ready and feed Bakayoko in.

They could maybe get another player in, but where we have had several injuries over the last few weeks. Some of them will not be back for a month. That in itself will be like having new signings and also they will be fresh. This will hopefully give us a boost.

Didn't see it but according to Charlie Nicholas Hazard was poor, now these are games where he needs to step up. Also don't know why you play Cahill against a team with two quick wingers. I thought Drinkwater was fit, but wasn't even on bench.
I think was a clear case of the players thinking palace are bottom, not scored a goal, this is a stroll in the park.
I do agree Willian needs dropping to get back some form
Let's move on and concentrate on Roma game.

It's fine saying they are the worst team. But until the game starts you can't make any assumptions.
Musonda will get a chance prob against Forest.
So let's be glad we won and let's get ready for Arsenal.

Please let's not get into even giving this rubbish air time.
It's the papers we lose to burnley, the team have turned against the manager blah, blah, blah. We win and the team are playing for the manager but the board are against the manager blah blah blah.
Let's just get on with important things like signing another three players and forget this BS.

Such sad news, Dermot did a fantastic job at Chelsea and will be sadly missed and hopefully tomorrow night he will be suitably remembered.
RIP Dermot.

Bottom line is not every player hits the ground running. Not every player settles in this league, especially coming from the French league. He has had some very good performances. However like yesterday he seems like a rabbit caught in the headlights. Yesterday it was all going on around him. I think he has a good engine and is strong. Sometimes players need guidance from players around them. I don’t think he got that yesterday. He got better as the game went on. He will be an improvement on Matic. People on here go on about matic, but the majority wanted him sold as he had been poor. I think Bakayoko will be fine, we will see the best of him later in the season when he settles in.

Well said Sid, I have supported Chelsea 50 plus years and until Roman came we flirted with success but you supported them through good and bad including relegations, more than one I hasten to add. So for us these are great times and we realise we won't win the league every year but 5 in what 14 years is brilliant. The double, the champions league. I have seen all this, my brother went everywhere with Chelsea from the late 60s to 2003 when he died of cancer, so never saw us win the league.
So to all those out there who are recent supporters enjoy it when we win, but still support us when we aren't doing so well. Under Roman we will always come back.
Remain positive come on Chels.

Trouble is what is Chelsea's youth policy? .
If it is to bring them in then develope them and feed them into the first team then we are not doing a fantastic job. However how many youth players have we had that you could say hand on heart were good enough to go into the first team in the last ten years. Ones that have left and been a success. That's right at best one, but none spring to mind. It's in the last year or so that a couple I was sorry to see go, Chalobah and Ake.
As I said what is there policy, if it is to take young players, develope them, loan them out and then when realising they won't cut it sell them for a good price. Then perhaps they are doing a good job.
This is just my opinion, but puts a different slant on Chelsea's youth policy.
