Where from: Denmark

Favourite player: Drogba

Best team moment: Obviously, the Champions League victory ranks as number one, which it probably does with everyone else. A more unique favourite moment was when Fabregas produced THAT amazing assist to Andre Schurrle. At that moment you knew that team would become very, very special.

Poch has just signed an extension. Guess he was never really an option, but no doubt he'd been an excellent choice. Really hope clearance is provided soon!

18 May 2018 11:46:56
Could any of you Eds perhaps shed a light on what happened Wednesday night in regards to Chelsea's managerial situation? Would be highly appreciated!

{Ed001's Note - no sorry, I don't know.}

1.) 18 May 2018 16:04:00
Fair, one cannot know everything ;)

{Ed001's Note - sadly no. I wish I could though!}

2.) 18 May 2018 20:03:47
Apparently it could seriously be Poch to Chelsea. I'd be very surprised and confused though.

3.) 19 May 2018 09:59:29
Where did you hear the from Jackson?

4.) 19 May 2018 19:11:55
Apparently some guy claims it on twitter. Probably not true, but it's strange that it's even being touted as a possibility.

10 Mar 2018 18:22:22
We definately need to start Zappa against Barca! Always gives his all, and quite a threat offensively, too!

1.) 11 Mar 2018 09:25:22
agree . I prefer him too. not as physically strong but for me can offer more. more games he plays the more consistent and better he will get.

28 May 2017 12:07:05
Hey ED. I'm not sure if this is one of the questions that you don't like, but hopefully that isn't the case - at least, it isn't my intention to waste your time. But seeing how other teams such as City and United are already bringing in some solid reenforcements, could you perhaps provide some information about Chelsea nearing any deals? Perhaps drop a few names as Well? I understand if it's not possible, I was just hoping for some Nice updates after yesterday's dissapointment!
Regardless - you have yourself a nice Day - take Care!

{Ed002's Note - There is no way for me to try and anser questions about the ti,img of transfers.}

1.) 28 May 2017 14:01:43
Okay, I understand - and Sorry to bother, I'just struck by some mean hangovers and thought you might have some uplifting news 😉.

{Ed002's Note - There is always uplifting news Emil - summer is just about here, the butterflies are out.....}

2.) 28 May 2017 16:23:08
News of Bakayoko and Naby Keita signing for Chelsea would be more welcome than 30 degrees outside while I have to prepare for exams though :P.

11 Nov 2016 12:21:21
Hello Ed. I was just wondering if you could provide an update on these (or at least just some of them) players that I've seen linked with a move to Chelsea (some more realistic than others) :
Javier Pastore, Kasper Dolberg, Moussa Dembele (Celtic), Bazoer, Kondogbia and Niklas Sule.
I'll understand it if you haven't got the time!
Have a nice weekend :)

{Ed002's Note - There will be an update fairly soon.}

1.) 11 Nov 2016 14:44:17
Hahaha I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve, waiting for the presents the next day :-P.

2.) 11 Nov 2016 14:44:17
Hahaha I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve, waiting for the presents the next day :-P.

{Ed002's Note - I am guessing Monday. I have just finished a short Liverpool one and my PA is threatening me with no more today.}

3.) 11 Nov 2016 17:46:28
No rush, Ed, we all know you're busy :-) But I am certainly looking forward to it. Your info is the best.

Just read on the Liverpool page, that Asensio is available. Also says that he "has already rejected one offer of being involved in a part exchange". Can't tell if it's in any way related to us, but regardless, I think he'd be a very, very good choice, if Eden were to leave. What do you guys think? And could you perhaps say how you feel about Asensio, Ed01? :)
Also, happy new year to all!

{Ed001's Note - very good player mate but I do have worries about his attitude. He seems to expect to get games without performing.}

1.) 29 Dec 2018 12:51:40
Would be brilliant signing; a lot more so than Pulisic ( who I like )

2.) 29 Dec 2018 13:23:36
What I am scared about dealing with Real is that they would probably want Hazard in the return.

Ed001 do you think Real want Hazard? Or they have different targets.

{Ed001's Note - if they really wanted him he would already be there mate.}

3.) 29 Dec 2018 13:30:46
Thanks for the quick reply mate, i do hope he stays.

I can't see why he is so desperate to join them (maybe there is a child who lives in Madrid we don't know about, aka Courtouis)

{Ed001's Note - it is bizarre. They are a mess but kids and players still seem to love them.}

4.) 29 Dec 2018 16:04:22
Also, their fans aren't too shy to boo of the very biggest legends of the club.

5.) 29 Dec 2018 17:13:03
What about asking Bale in return for Hazard? Would anyone take that.

6.) 29 Dec 2018 17:31:59
An about-to-be 30 year old winger who couldn't stay injury-free in Spain?

7.) 29 Dec 2018 19:16:45
How did we allow ourselves to be well-overtaken by Liverpool in the 'clubs players want to join' stakes? So sad.

8.) 29 Dec 2018 21:35:43
I must have missed that Darren. Please enlighten me when that happened.

9.) 30 Dec 2018 11:26:06
Well, the inference is that Asensio turned down joining us in favour of wanting to join Liverpool.

17 Dec 2018 11:14:32
I don't know why, but I've got a feeling that we'll see a top player join us in January, that we don't expect, and one that the media hasn't really been mentioning. It's not really based on anything other than the fact that Kepa seemed to come out of nowhere, and it is afterall just a gut feeling, but I wouldn't be surprised to see us make a big signing, that none of the medias have been talking about.

1.) 17 Dec 2018 13:35:50
Realistically we desperately need a forward if we are to have any slender chance of winning the league. I think if we remain in contention by the time January is here then maybe we look for star quality, otherwise it will be a stop gap and I suspect we will push for Wilson. Not entirely sure my self but anything is better than Morata on current form.

Rumours regarding Pulisic are gathering pace and maybe he is someone we sign in January or may be we complete the deal in January for him to arrive in the summer. I think it's clear that he is the perferred choice for the right sided midfield position. It makes sense because he should be the one that is easily attainable and is of star quality.

I can't see any other transfers unless any of the targeted defenders become available.

2.) 17 Dec 2018 13:54:24
Three players definitely out and maybe a fourth who’s going, will make some fans happy.

One supposed top player joining and the club are working on a second player but his club don’t want to sell him this window.

3.) 17 Dec 2018 14:56:41
Sarri’s signings have been very good so far but Pulisic doesn’t convince me. We desperately need someone who can score goals and Pulisic doesn’t.

4.) 17 Dec 2018 21:59:03
Slight change. Now looks like we have definitely got two of our targets in the upcoming window.

5.) 17 Dec 2018 22:47:12
Tomb who are the two targets we have got for the upcoming window mate.

16 Dec 2018 15:41:29
It's been said a lot of times, but dear God does Alonso not play close to well enough to be starting every league game right now. Yes he does have an incredible shot, as he proved today by almost scoring a very good goal, but his main job is to defend, and he simply cannot. I really think we need to give Emerson a chance at left back, it can't really get much worse on the defensive phase.
On a positive note, great that we got the win. Really had a bad feeling after Andone got on, that we would become sloppy, which we did get, but luckily we got the win, and hopefully a bit of confidence.

1.) 16 Dec 2018 15:53:34
I’ve got no idea how he got a new contract it must have been his goals last year. We need to stop giving people contracts on past performances.

I’d try for Chilwell in January. Turning into a quality full back and he’s homegrown.

2.) 16 Dec 2018 16:12:45
Good shout king Kante when I watch Robertson think we missed a trick think he’s a really good lb and he only cost £10 million I think which in the current market is an absolute snip.

3.) 16 Dec 2018 17:11:39
Very much agree about the contract. He must've gotten it because of past performances and a few early goals and assists. Sarri cannot seriously mean at this point, that Alonso has potential to become the best left back in Europe.

4.) 16 Dec 2018 17:42:50
I think you all forgot that at start of the season he was oir second est player behind hazard.

5.) 16 Dec 2018 18:59:46
Was he? 🤨 which games were they? Oh you mean cause he scored against Arsenal second game?

6.) 16 Dec 2018 19:39:39
Against Huddersfield and Newcastle he was pretty good but defensively he's not the best. He needs to go back to the basics of defending. Good player but should be dropped if continues like this.

7.) 16 Dec 2018 19:41:53
If we assume our managers opinion maybe more informed than supporters! Didn’t Sarri say he has the potential to be the best left back in the world? Maybe that’s why he got a improved contract.

Dave was getting slaughtered a few games ago and look how he is playing now.

I’m sure Alonso will recover some form soon but I would have no problem seeing Emerson being given some more game time.

8.) 16 Dec 2018 20:17:48
Difference between Dave and Alonso is Dave has always been world class defensively he’s had his blip now he’s playing well again. Whereas Alonso has never been good defensively cause he doesn’t have pace.

9.) 16 Dec 2018 20:57:48
So, Sarri is wrong?

All about opinions but I JUST prefer sarri’s!

10.) 16 Dec 2018 21:11:51
Not saying Sarri is wrong but he said in his interview he only likes Alonso for his height from set pieces. I don’t like that one. With Rudi, Luiz, and RLC (if he starts) we have some big players.

Jose kept playing Ivanovic and that ruined him. Hopefully we get a new LB in so he’ll bench Alonso.

11.) 16 Dec 2018 22:34:29
Not sure what Iva has got to do with it.

Sarri has said he can be the best left back in the world. I might not agree with that assessment but I do know Sarri knows more than me and probably more than most supporters!

He isn’t playing well be I’m sure he will come out of his bad patch soon.

If he does decide to “bench” Alonso, I hope he gives Emerson a chance.

12.) 16 Dec 2018 22:15:55
I have been really impressed by Digne but he only joined Everton in August (£18m) . Whoever organises our scouting system needs shooting - the money that we've wasted!

13.) 16 Dec 2018 22:50:10
Hiring a director of football would help a great deal and at least give the club direction again.

14.) 16 Dec 2018 22:53:31
Shooting would seem a bit harsh! ’

I’m sure someone will have some strange transfer stat but my guess is we NO worse than other clubs at scouting players.

For one reason or another some players just don’t work out.

Anyway, I’m happy with the three points away from home.

15.) 16 Dec 2018 23:01:06
Did you just said that Ivanovic was bad?

16.) 16 Dec 2018 23:22:33
In his last season he declined rapidly and was shocking but Mourinho continued to play him. Before the last couple of seasons he was probably the best RB we’ve ever had.

17.) 17 Dec 2018 10:42:43
The best right-back we've ever had? Ken Shellito, Paddy Mulligan, Albert Ferrer, Steve Clarke, Dan Petrescu, Paulo Ferriera, might disagree.

18.) 17 Dec 2018 14:00:20
Ken Shellito for me Miss Wood but Iva would be second followed by Dan.

19.) 17 Dec 2018 14:50:05
Ken Shellito head and shoulders above all the others. What a tragedy it was when his career was cut short. Him and Eddie McReadie, masters of the well timed, sliding tackle.

20.) 17 Dec 2018 16:15:04
C1955, in my opinion, he would have been a 1966 World Cup winner If he hadn’t suffered his injury!

11 Dec 2018 21:17:23
Oh boy, is Koulibaly a beast of a center back. Yes, he did get wrecked by Salah, but that can happen to anyone when Salah's on this level. Just imagine Rudiger and Koulibaly together, would be such a strong, fast pairing, where both are capable of passing well. Know that he'd cost more than a fortune, and that dealing with de Laurentiis is near impossible. But what an addition he would be to any team in the world.

1.) 12 Dec 2018 01:28:53
I agree i think we need a top CB as well as Striker and RW Koulibaly or Skriniar would be perfect.

{Ed0333's Note - Koulibaly is an absolute beast. He would strengthen any defense in the world, or even Upamecano from Leipzig would be great for you guys.

2.) 12 Dec 2018 04:41:42
Koulibaly is quality. Never heard of upamecano ed0333, I’ll have to try watch a few of his games.

{Ed001's Note - you will be impressed, Upamecano is incredible.}

3.) 12 Dec 2018 04:57:40
I’ve heard of him but never watched him. Think De Ligt will be the future best defender though. Unreal that boy and already a leader.

{Ed001's Note - you really think he is that good? He has been dreadful every time I see him. No positional sense at all.}

4.) 12 Dec 2018 07:02:31
Tbh I don’t watch him every week I’ve only followed him in the champions league but I’ve been impressed. I’d still obviously rather Koulibaly or Skriniar to partner Rudiger though we’d be next level then.

{Ed001's Note - do you not think Koulibaly is too similar to Rudiger? They are both all physical power and pace, surely you need a Luiz/Ampadu ball player alongside him?}

5.) 12 Dec 2018 07:56:04
How is Upamecano on the ball? Is he 'just' a beast or also a good ball player?

{Ed001's Note - he is actually very decent on the ball, but not at the level of Ampadu or Luiz. But a level or two above Rudiger.}

6.) 12 Dec 2018 08:34:23
He sounds like a very good signing then. What I don't get, however, is how you seem to not rate Rudiger at all on the ball? I actually think he makes very few mistakes, and every once in a while, he makes passes like the one David Luiz made in the weekend. At least, I think he's quite decent on the ball!

7.) 12 Dec 2018 09:57:40
What do you think of Benjamin Pavard, Jonathan Tah and Niklas Stark, Ed001?
Would they be good signings for Chelsea at CB?

{Ed001's Note - Pavard I like, doesn't hurt that he is good enough on the ball to not look out of place at full back in the World Cup. Looks like he could be a good ball playing centre back.

Tah is excellent too, not sure he is quite good enough on the ball, but he is certainly close to being good enough. He is one of those players that could play alongside a ball player or a powerhouse and fit together with them.

I can't comment on Stark as I have only seen him play midfield.}

8.) 12 Dec 2018 10:15:29
I think these are some plausible options to go for. Getting Rugani or Romagnoli is a hassle in itself.

9.) 12 Dec 2018 21:19:29
We’ve Ampadu there already just use him more like Ed said he’d complement Rudiger or Zouma very well imo.

07 Dec 2018 10:50:19
I've just seen that Bakayoko has got a FIFA inform, and although that's not the best descriptor of how well a player has been playing, it is an indication. However, I saw a lot of Milan fans saying that he was their best player all throughout November, and that he might just be one of their best signings in the last few years (not that the last part is such an achievement) .
Regardless, I'm glad to see him do better, and I actually did like him whilst playing for us, and he always seemed to do very well in the biggest matches. Perhaps we're going to regret giving Milan the option of buying him (which I believe to have read - not something I'm entirely sure of though, maybe, just maybe Ed would tell? ;) ) .
Can't really see him playing in our current system, considering how he played most of the time, but in his best matches, I think he would've played Kante's role really, really well. What do you guys think?

1.) 07 Dec 2018 16:35:15
Are you really talking about Bakayoko having a good game for us? :D i haven't seen a player who was so lost on the picth before or after him.

2.) 08 Dec 2018 14:24:43
Surely that's the on-going problem at Chelsea - we don't give players enough time to show their ability. Baka was reportedly awful at the start of the season, but Milan kept playing him and are now reaping the rewards. Just think of players who were never given long enough at Chels: de Bruyne, Salah, Lukaku as a start.

Both players play for their respective national teams, first of all. Haven't seen either of them play, but I believe the Eds have been writing, that Barella is seen by many as a potential captain for Italy in the future.

All I've seen from both players has been on YouTube, so it goes without saying that I've only seen the best parts of the players. However, Barella in my eyes seems like a very good box to box midfielder, that can also go out wide, and he seems to make absolutely wonderful passes - from what I've seen, I'm sure he'd had a lot more assists with better team mates! Think he'd be a perfect fit to either the left or right central midfield.

Paredes, on the other hand, seems to be almost the same as Jorginho, from what I've seen. Should be taken in regard, that most of the videos I've seen must've been against Russian teams, so I don't know how he's done against better teams.

Tammy Abraham i suppose.

One of the things I really like about what I've seen of him (which, admittedly is very little) is that he seems to see passes that very few players see, kind of like our very own Eden. I think that Eden and Pulisic, switching around the front three, cutting inwards would really tear apart defences once they'd get to know each other and the way the other plays. Obviously, it won't be important, if Eden leaves, but if that's the case, then I believe we'd get a player, quite similar of Eden, but without that bit of end product, that Eden's bringing at the moment.

As a Dane I hear so much hype of AC, some of which is justified, some which is simply rubbish put out by the media and so-called experts.
However, I get why AC and his father would get the idea that he's good enough to play as a starter for a top 10 club, as so many people in Denmark seem to be thinking that's the case.
Same with Bendtner a few years ago, and while AC's obviously VERY different, much more mature atc., atc., it seems quite common for Danish people to expect way too from our talents, and the players themselves seem to get deluded because of this.
I do think it would be a mistake to let AC go, but no one should give the club ultimatums and expect to come out on top, perhaps unless you're Eden Hazard or of similar caliber. AC, however, is nowhere near that level, and if he truly means what he's said, he should just be moved on.

Not sure, but think the quote above is because he, as someone mentioned on this site, is a player who sometimes commits quite stupid fouls, and thus I think it was merely an attempt at being funny :)

Agree with much of what you say, but not that Jorginho is expendable in this system. He played very well today in my opinion. Also, Kante was no less that phenomenal - he seemed to be all over the pitch, and did very, very well offensively. Think his positional change, if he were to continue being used that way for a year or so, will be regarded as no less that a genius move by Sarri.
