{Ed002's Note - I appreciate that the Italian press have speculated over recent months that there is interest from Manchester United in Benatia, but there is no confirmation of that interest at this time and he is not expected to move to England. Manchester City are very interested and both Bayern Munich and Barcelona have said he is a player they very much like but it will be difficult to persuade Roma to sell and they can, right now, not complete all of their planned transfers. Chelsea will look toward him if they are to lose Ivanovic or can't get a deal for Varane. Manchester City has had two bids turned down.}

Hey Ed, Are chelsea interested in signing Antoine Griezmann?
{Ed002's Note - Atletico Madrid, Valencia, Marseille, Rennes, Fiorentina and Lyon have shown some interest in Griezmann in the past year and repordedly Barcelona tool a look at one time. Whilst the kid has said on several occasions that he has no plans to leave Spain anytime soon, the financial problems being faced by Real Sociedad may still see him leave the club in the summer. He has had a good season which have led to enquiries being made by Juventus, Arsenal and Chelsea; and Manchester United and PSG having the player watched on more than one occasion.}

I've seen a lot of sites reporting that Ramires could be swapped for Gundogan, Is there any truth to this?
{Ed002's Note - Whilst Real Madrid have dropped their interest in Ramires, both Juventus and Dortmund remain keen. He is not first choice for Juventus as Dortmund's Gundogan is, but Dortmund has broached the subject of a summer move to replace Gundogan if he moves.
Gundogan was refusing to agree a new deal and Dortmund were willing to let him leave this past summer as he was seen as a shadow of his former (pre-injury) self. Clubs were interested, including Manchester United and Manchester City, but an approach about his availability was responded to that a three year extension has been agreed between the club and player and details are being finalised. However, he then again refused to sign the contract and all he was prepared to do was to sign an extension until 2017. Dortmund are pretty much done with him - he was expected to leave this past summer and they had already a replacement in place. Juventus, Barcelona, Manchester City, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Arsenal have all been interested to some extent or other. Barcelona may still be interested but they are certainly not pushing right now. Manchester City and Arsenal walked away over concerns about sustained fitness and form against price - they will likely see the risk as still too high. Manchester United may continue to show interest but will only bite at the right price - and the player may have reservations about opportunities at Old Trafford. Cannot be discounted. Bayern Munich failed with an offer of Goetze as part of a deal for Gundogan in the summer - and a second one including Højbjerg as part of the deal. Dortmund would rather not sell to Bayern. If he is to move soon then Juventus and, just possibly, Barcelona seem the most viable destinations. If he is to move in the summer, both of the Manchester clubs can be added to that group.}}

Ramires really really should be sold. I respect him as a player and appreciate everything he's done for the club, but I don't see what he adds. Even his running has gone down.

Not particularly keen on Gundogan though, so I'm not disappointed that we're not interested. Reports surfaced today that Chelsea are interested in Granit Xhaka. Now THAT is a midfielder that I'd love to see at our club.
