Hi ed002
Are the Saudi clubs spending all this money
Are they under the same ffp rules as everyone else I find it hard to believe they are generating that money without there owners pumping the money in from there own pockets
I'm probably totally wrong and naive just seems strange they all of a sudden have so much money to spend
Thanks for any advice.

{Ed002's Note - You sound like a Liverpool supporter - but for the sake of clarity - Saudi Arabia is not in Europe.}

Ed002
Are the Saudis planning to either buy or create a major competition which at some point would include Saudi teams?
I realise this isn't Chelsea related but not sure where to ask if not on here.
Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are trying to say - what to you mean "buy a competition"?}

Gola, the Saudi ruling classes and institutions have always had money. It’s just they have decided to invest in sport. As for football these things go in cycles; in the 90s the Italian clubs had the money; then the Spanish clubs the us and the PL. We can’t really complain. It will be a long time, if ever, that the Saudi league competes with the top European leagues.

{Ed002's Note - They will never compete with the "top European Leagues" - Saudi Arabia is not in Europe. I thoroughly recommend you all stop thinking about Saudi Arabia - clearly none seem to grasp even the basics of it.}

And with it being fifa fair play
I didn't realise it was just europe so that was the point of the question not for clarity on a geography lesson.

{Ed002's Note - Quite astonishing.}

Maybe at some stage the obsession with FFP will end.

I will start to worry about FFP when I understand it and that ain’t happening any time soon.

I have never been more insulted how very dare you lol
Is ffp just a uefa rule.

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

Well I am amazed that the Saudis have essentially taken over Golf in such a short time.
If a European Super League was formed for example its possible a major part of the funding could come from Saudi.
I just find it hard to believe the money they are investing currently is only based on the domestic league given the ambition they are showing in other sports.

This has all got a bit out of hand

I just wanted to know if they were under ffp that's all and if they aren't couldn't care less

But to say I sound like a liverpool fan is outrageous lol

Ed know hard feelings I didn't know ffp was just europe little bit confusing then should be ufp
Take careb.

{Ed002's Note - It is UEFA FFP.}

You just asked a footballing expert if uefa rules apply in Saudi Arabia, and you're upset that he threw a little humour at you? Comes on lads, lighten up and enjoy the craic.

Ed002, I am aware Saudi Arabia isn’t in Europe. When I said compete I meant in terms of prestige etc. I don’t know what the fuss is all about, they have a young population who like football; they are entitled to do what they can to improve the status of the game in their country.

We enjoy the craic of being the only team in London to have won the cup with the big ears Wenger plus last season was a blast when you lot imploded. Now that was a craic lol.

I doubt there are many fans/ posters who fully understand FFP. So why bring it up at all?

It was a question that got answered and I may be wrong but think gola was upset about being compared to Liverpool supporters. He was more than happy to be corrected about the boundaries of international football.

Sir Wenger, good luck for next season, I think with the players you have signed you will have another good season. I think it will interesting as I can see a lot more teams involved in a battle for Champions League places. With the rebuild that may take place with Liverpools midfield I can see them being competitive from the start and I don’t think City are finished in this window just yet.

FFP stands for Financial Fair Play. Where does FIFA factor in?

Tom, it’s understandable that some fans are concerned about FPP as it is always mentioned in the media regarding Chelsea. Personally, I’m sure the club have it under control. It’s not that long long ago that we received a transfer ban ( not related to FPP) . I am also not suprised that people might be confused about as you put it “ boundaries in international football “. Israel, Uzbekistan and Armenia to name but three are full members of UEFA.

Jimbo, if any poster can present FFP in a way that other posters can fully understand then fine. I personally always look forward to being educated. I am not going to pretend I know how it works when I don’t. I happy to leave it to our club to work out the mechanics. After all it’s in their financial interests to get it right.

FFP is mentioned by football fans as some sort of weapon to frighten supporters. These people never give any facts other than the fees a club has spent on transfers.

If you go onto other clubs sites that are just as infatuated by FFP, with the majority who mention it insisting CFC must have fallen foul of its rules but again only sighting our transfer spend. No facts to support the suggestion.

We have NOT broken any FFP rules. The media in this country are a joke and probably don’t understand FFP rules anyway.

Tom, I tend to agree with you about FPP, none of us know enough about the intricacies of the rules or our club’s accounts to be able to make a relevant comment- leave it to the club to sort out.
Apropos, one of your earlier posts, I certainly don’t wish Arsenal, City, Man U, Spurs or Newcastle good luck next season-curses on them! I will give a shout out to Kompany and Burnley well done and good luck. Similarly, Emery has done a good job at Villa and they have made a couple of smart signings. Finally, I am very pleased for the Luton fans and I hope they enjoy the PL.
