Maybe potter isn't the man
Or maybe he is no one really knows
Since he came in the things he has had to deal with don't happen to most managers in there whole career
1 new owners
2 took over after club bought players for previous manager a week before
3 pre season was a shocker
4 the new owners have bought a ridiculous amount of players whilst not getting rid of any leaving the manager with a massive squad to deal with
5 the injuries were ridiculous basically the first team out for 6 to 8 weeks
6 a world cup in the middle of a season then to comeback with another load of new players
Boardroom has completely changed.

gola, I completely agree. Also, it wasn’t a GP managed pre-season.

Zlrry did the realise it was cut short
Rumour has it he has 2 games left to save his job
Why not go all out and support him Nd the players for 2 games 100%
It's the least we can do as SUPPORTERS and see what happens with the cards he's been dealt I applaud him.

But this squad of players having relegation form. And over so many games,

gola, the two game quote has come from a journalist who I generally find reasonable but I find the suggestion strange as achieves nothing, other than more pressure on the manager.

Sounds perverse but the £600m has not helped Graham one bit. The media and opposition managers and players are lapping it up. Like others on here I want to make a comment that eases the frustration…. but I can’t. I like Graham, and I know I will be accused of living in a parallel universe, but from where I was sitting at the weekend if Chelsea had went in 1-0 up at HT it would have been no more than they deserved. They passed the ball better and had more intent to play the game. But they lose Silva (who would have won the header for the second goal, and Kepa should have smothered the drilled shot which caused the mayhem for the robot Skipp to hit his one and only goal he has ever and is ever likely to score. Oh and btw, Nicely done by England captain and all round good egg Kane to make sure he lands on Thiago as awkwardly as he possibly could. Can’t stand him. Anyway, after that bout of sour grapes comment. Back to a bad luck. V Fulham at 1-1, they are going onto win the game imo but they get a man sent off and Kepa throws one in. At Liverpool a toe nail offside stops the 3 points. a ridiculous pen decision at WHU. They were poor V Fulham at home. Southampton game was one of those if they get it to 1-1 it probably would have ended 3 or 4, and yes I know……. but they didn’t. On the other side of the coin, surely to goodness Ziyech can’t play another game he is absolutely bloody awful.

Stephen, life including football is all about ifs and buts.

All of the points mentioned above including lots of new signings probably haven’t helped or made be a manager easy but GP gets paid to work out problems and find the solutions.

As you say the fine margins of football haven’t been kind and it could take just one win to change things around. Anyway, that’s what I keep saying to myself.

Stephen I tend to agree with you, but the problem is when you look at results in isolation like that you risk losing sight of the overall picture.2 wins in 15!

It has been said by various journalists over the last few days but worth repeating, our reaction (or indeed our lack thereof) to adversity is very troubling. You can tell with every missed chance the nerves and tension ramps up within the team. Chances are snatched at and we start pushing too far forwards as desperation seeps in and then typically we get done on the counter.

I could be being stupidly naïve but it does feel like we just need a jammy goal and result to turn the tide. Perhaps that could come against Dortmund, in a statement game? I'd take a goal at Leeds. baby steps!

I don’t believe in luck in football, you can be lucky or unlucky in the odd game but not over months. I can’t use my usual response about” IF my aunt…. ” as I don’t want to be accused of being a TERF. I wonder how ETH would have got on with 600 million worth of transfers.

I forget who said “give me lucky generals” maybe Napoleon or was it Churchill?

Wouldn’t it be nice if we supported the club, manager and players in what is a difficult time.

We all want wins but just like before when managers have been sacked I think some fans just want to be proved right. I guess that means I think some fans have their own not so secret agenda. A bit like my often biased opinions.

I haven’t wanted certain players signed or some managers but when they become part of our club I refrain from “I told you so” comments.

I personally have never been a good loser but I am old school and when I have lost at anything, I have taken on the chin shook my opponents hand and looked at ways to improve.

I also regularly acknowledge on this site when opponents and individuals have played well and congratulated them.

If I win at anything I’m obviously happy and I desperately try (not always successfully) not to be smug.
