I’m embarrassed by the signing policy. Chelsea will have to win the lot to have a shred of integrity left. Making City and United look like tightwads. How can Arsenal get (just about) the best player at Brighton out of there for £29m? If Chelsea had chapped on the Brighton door you can double that and add 10, and the big irony is they would have paid it! and Chelsea still
don’t have the player they need, he’ll be going to Arsenal probs for £70 mill tops. Fingers crossed it all goes right a PL title if not two a CL win if not two before another penny is spent, AFTER the club get Declan Rice!

I’m sort of with you, excited by some of signings I’m excited to see us play, but the amounts will always be a stick to beat us with, only way is to balance books with lots of sales and try and use the “ net spend “ argument.

I’m assuming that Trossard was available for that price as he was available for transfer (rumours of disagreements with DeZerbi however not sure how accurate they were) .

Yes I was embarrassed (NOT) when Roman went on his initial transfer splurge and brought us years of success.

We can’t have it all ways.

Stephen60 I get where you’re coming from, I am a bit nervy about the money we have spent. However, if EF and Mudryk were seen as key targets, it make sense to get them in now before other clubs make bids in the summer. This is effectively our January and summer window. With Nkunku coming in, we will probably only sign another midfielder in the summer. As for Trossard, I don’t think that was a bargain :29M for a player with only 6 months left on his contract. As for PL titles and CL, I don’t see it in the near future with GP in charge but I hope I am wrong.

Why are you embarrassed of the board having a clear out and trying to make a success of the club buying all very good young talent

I’m more embarrassed about being in mid-table.

I will never forget the tears that flowed from my eyes when we win the first Premiership of my lifetime. It was also the same in Munich for our first Champions League title.

I wasn’t embarrassed on either occasion.
