Kai haverts has 0.17 goal creating actions per 90 minutes. 0.02 above Thiago Silva from CB. is kai the most fraudulent player in the premier league? I certainly think so. This is just one metric and I don't like stats too much but this one is very telling.

He needs to go. He's still living off that champions league goal 3 years ago.

He’s definitely not been good enough, there’s talent there that’s for sure, it’s how you get it out of him. Like I said last week, unless GP figures out where to play him and gets the best out of him, he will be sold/ leave and I fear it’s another KDB/ Salah situation. I personally think he’s an AM and would be best suited to a 442 diamond but unfortunately we don’t have the players to play like that ATM.

100 % agree Dublin he isn't a false nine
I think he'd be brilliant in a 4231 in the middle of the three up front personally.

I think he has a touch of class but he is so inconsistent in virtually every position he plays for us.

Maybe that is the issue, we have have never played him in a settled position.

I strongly disagree with the original post. I think Havertz is one of our best players without a doubt and whilst he isn't the most clinical, he is let down by our other attackers' final ball and link up play. With Felix on the pitch I thought he played well and linked up nicely although there were a few times he could've done better. Should also mention the fact that the goal was a little over 18 months ago, definitely not been 3 years since our CL win. I also like Havertz work rate and his nasty side.

I think Mount is the one who should be facing much bigger questions at the moment. He needs to focus more on football rather than his Instagram and sponsorships.

Saim; I agree with you completely. All these negative Havertz talks is coming from Matt Law’s recent rubbish article; Matt Law should just report news and stop giving his opinion (about our Chelsea players which only tends to support English players even when they are performing badly) . Havertz is a sound player any day any time. This kick and follow English football mentality will always blind people to the ability of players like Havertz.

The few minutes Havertz played with a decent footballer like Joao Felix, you could clearly see his quality and good football. Play Nkunku and Felix with the same players that Havertz is playing with now (over a period of time) they will be worse than Havertz present state.

Simply, Havertz, Nkunku, J Felix, etc will do very well next season.

The crazy thing is that if Chelsea puts Havertz up for sale this moment, the best teams will be queuing up for him the next minute- come on people should think.

Obinna, I think you are on to something there. Havertz did look better with a positive footballer next to him. I would keep him. In saying that. All the comments on here re his scoring and general application are fair. He looks lazy and uninterested at times, often gets himself into terrific positions then fluffs his lines by either inexplicably falling over, runs the ball out, miscontrols the ball for no obvious reason, or else just physically dies. One area that gets my blood up with Kai is his inability to “smash” the ball home even from close range. It appears to me that he always gives the GK a chance. I like players to smash the ball home even into an empty goal. If reports I have read are true this time the players will “carry the can” for a failed season. A clear out? Here is hoping. Be clear on this. Chelsea will be back, this guy from the US ain’t going to leave here without having won one of the big ones.

I agree with you dadubliner and gg re getting Havertz position right. Plus with Saim, Obinna and Stephen that if we get quality around him Havertz's own will become more obvious. But yes Obinna he does sometimes need to smash the ball like an Alan Shearer in his pomp!

What are havertz strengths? We hear so much about him needing players around and this excuse and that excuse…hes not been good enough simples … he's weak and looks disinterested and if we hadnt spemt so much on him he wouldve been out the door long before timo -who atleast put hard yards in for the team

Its time to stop makinh excuses for these players just not being up to the required level.

I’m not sure who “these players are” but we certainly have a few who may well be moved on but I personally don’t think Havertz will be one of them.

He won't be and that's purely because we spent so much on him and won't want to have to let him go for half of what we paid…. i've no idea why fans are determined to force the idea that's he's some sort of generational talent ready to be unlocked when he's shown no sign of it.

bluekaz98 i think you are on to something with kai. Kid not, teams
Will certainly come for kai if he's pit up for sale that's how quality he's. Don't make a scapegoat of him on this terrible situation that potter appointment has put us.
All the players are struggling big time since and will be wrong imo to make such conclusions now.

My concern is that midfield was initially deemed to be our weakness since yet no solution have been found and we have spent loads on the other areas not priority. The new players will struggle to be at their best with the same midfield we currently have, though I would think with return of the injured players will help . we need about 2 new midfielders of different attributes versatile and experienced to compliment the young players we already have.

Imo for the purpose of the transition I would try to bring in modric. He can still do a job like silva is doing right now. Doesn't need time to adapt and no doubting his quality. Midfield of kante modric and kovacic will empower and tick our attackers. Thoughts are welcome.
