Good result for us in the Spurs match I'd say as it gives us a 5 point gap above them. United are too far ahead to be draw into a top four battle anyway.

I agree Brighton and maybe the happy hammers winning isn’t that bad as well. Brings Leicester back in the mix and we have to play them both.

In our hands and that’s all you can ask for.

Good summary of the position Brighton and Tom. The games v Happy Hammers and Leicester could be decisive. Liverpool a definite danger to us. Their run in far easier than our one, as is the Spuds one.

Way Leicester played today I can’t see anything other than a comfortable win, West Ham on the other hand, I’ve been wondering when there form will dip but they keep going, keep telling people Jesse “Ronaldinho” Lingard isn’t good and his form go but again, keeps going, keeps scoring snd keeps causing problems,

Yes it will be tight but it’s in our hands and as Graham Sourness keeps saying we have the second best squad in the PL, so no excuses.

{Ed077's Note - I'm not Graham Souness but I've been saying that too...

The 2nd best squad on paper but if you analyse it based on PL experience and age profile it's not so clear.

Except we are unlucky like The WBA game we shall surmount Leicester and the hammers to make the top 4 finish regardless of EPL experience. besides we are still th dark horse in UCL this season, not banking on it though but we can pull it off.

{Ed077's Note - btw I mean I too think top 4 is in your hands like GS but dont agree on 2nd best squad part..}

Ed077, who then has the 2nd best squad in the pl.

On the other hand . a bigger squad would help if 5 subs were allowed . right now with 3 subs, the depth of the squad makes little to no difference but it does in the champions League.

I recall Conte (who is doing fantastic at inter) for most parts of the season played the same team day in and day out and won us the pl.

Do we truly need a strong 23 man squad or is it better to have a 18 man strong squad with the rest filled with academy players?

What do u all think?

{Ed077's Note - Man Utd for me. Photo finish with Chelsea but just pips it for me. You would see a huge improvement if we got our version of Tuchel to replace the Lampard equivalent OGS.}

Agree with you Ed hope he gets his new contract.

{Ed077's Note - well stats would back him though. He is on course to being the first manager since SAF to finish in the top 4 in back to back season, so maybe my judgement is flawed...

But is finishing in top 4 a good sign for team like man utd Ed?

{Ed077's Note - just top isnt for me but the board would probably be satisfied with that.}

Ed, can you arrange for JL to have his loan period curtailed?

{Ed077's Note - We are lucky that he couldnt feature against us. He is helping Man Utd a lot more at WHU than he had for 2 yrs.}

Lol I don't think it's guaranteed you have a testing run in lose 2 in a row could get the nerves going
But hey ho if he does it then congrats to him
Ordinary player who was lucky enough to play in great teams and the same as manager lucky person
I can't stand him not for football reasons only because he's the doppelganger of my neighbour who's a bell end
I don't think you not getting in top 4 will make much difference as you will win europa league easily best team in it
Enjoy rest of season ed.

{Ed077's Note - I know top 4 isnt mathematically sealed but its almost impossible for us to cock it up from here on in; almost impossible. A lot of teams in and around us have to play each other so points will be dropped. I am a lot more positive about top 4 after last night.

Leicester play Man Utd, Chelsea and Spurs so a difficult end to the season.

Chelsea have WHU, Man City, Arsenal, Leicester and Villa. You should worry about winning those games first.

West Ham and Liverpool have easier run in on paper. BUT if we win our next 2 games against Burnley and Leeds, which wont be easy games for sure, top 4 will almost be mathematically guaranteed by the time we play Liverpool in May 1st/2nd.}

I think we have the toughest fixtures and it’s interesting if you look at various sites for The happy hammers and Leicester quite rightly they consider there destiny to be in there hands.

Also us and Leicester play in the FA cup with WH playing Newcastle. Getting the points can put pressure on other teams. Although I suppose it could be argued that Newcastle have improved recently.

{Ed077's Note - No games in this league is easy but Chelsea have the trickiest run in I agree. Newcastle looked to be in freefall a month ago, now they look likely to rise in the table. Also I think Leicester are going to bottle it again, I said it month or so ago. So third is easily attainable for the chasing pack but no team seems to be able to get a run of victories.}

I’d agree on OGS. But I think with TT as our manager he has brought back the old guard and made full use of our squad with experience youth and a dip into that winning mentality which I thought we had lost.

I would have thought poch would have been the next Utd manager and built a phenomenal style of play but that ship has sailed. With Utd finishing 2nd this season . hard to see a managerial change there in the near future.

if and when the time comes who do u think Utd should swap ogs for?
