Hey Ed, will Chelsea sign someone to replace the ageing Frank Lampard this summer, like Pastore or does the club have intentions of using some of their young talent to do so , like Josh Mceachran or Lucas Piazon? {Ed002's Note - Lampard will be replaced, possibly this year. We will have to see what the new manager has in mind for this particular role.}

ED002 over on the liverpool page a fan posted AVB wants Falcao as a replacement for Torres and Torres has a buy out clause of £28 mil and you replied Yes were you being sarcastic? {Ed002's Note - And then suddenly you went back and read the question and realised what a dumb-ass you were being: "This has to be untrue right?! {Ed002's Note - Yes.}" Please read things properly before jumping to conclusions.}

Apparently, again (sigh), Real Madrid are trying to jeopardise our transfer plans by bidding for Falcao, do you believe they will jump ahead of us in the queue to sign him? {Ed002's Note - I really don't know, sorry.}

Ed002, I heard that Bryan English, Glenn Discroll and Paul Clement have all left Chelsea after meeting With Ron Gourlay. Also, Villas-Boas is looking for an assistant first team coach. Villas-Boas will also make a phone call to Sanchez in order to persuade him to ignore Barca and come to Chelsea. Is it true? {Ed002's Note - The assistant staff have left as expected. As for a phone call to Sanchez, no. But as I say, another offer will be made.}

Hey Ed, do you know why Chelsea have turned their attention away from wesley sneijder, because at one point they were interested in him and then they go and bid for Modric who is similar to the Dutch playmaker. Was it because his wages were too high, price tag was to high etc. Please tell me what you know Ed. {Ed002's Note - I really don't know. Much of the talk was from the papers. With a new manager it is one position that will be looked at again I am sure.}

ED002 you said you suspect Chelsea may once again bid for Sanchez! But after Pozzo messed Chelsea around in january i would be suprised if they did.

A very good source tells me there will be 2 signing done by next weekend but will not tell me the names.Do you have any clue who they might be ed? {Ed002's Note - I would guess Falcao might be one.}

Any info on Neymar ED002 or ED018 have Chelsea & Madrid both made new bids or spoken to the player? {Ed002's Note - Neither have spoken with the player. Chelsea have spoken with Santos but are unwilling to match the price being asked at this time. Santos are PO and blame Real Madrid for the news of him signing and then it being withdrawn. There is a little regrouping session happening this weekend to decide what happens next, but another bid for Sanchez is on the cards. As for Neymar, everything is on hold again.}

What are they asking for £40 mil? And so Madrid are serious contenders for him then? I also thought it was just speculation do you know if they are willing to match Santos's valuation for the player ED002?

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea, but suspect not.}

Ed sorry about this question I am a bit dumb :) have Chelsea signed Pernao i read one of you're posts and was not sure if we signed him or was he the one passed to a diffrent club??? sorry :) {Ed002's Note - Chelsea have exercised an option on him. That is all. So Chelsea have first option if he does move - but obviously the player can himself turn that down.}

why are chelsea bidding for modric he has had another quiet season the only time he has hit the headlines is when chelsea are looking at him and pastore so over priced but sneijder is awesome amazing passing skills great first touch along side essien and lampard best midfield in epl i think if we get falcao then aguero will not move to the bridge as falcaos scoring record and types of goals are leagues above aguero

ed are we looking at any other young players from brazil spain etc excluding paizon wallace etc {Ed002's Note - The obvious ones are the Fluminense youngsters. Chelsea had four options available to them. One option was passed on to another club, one option was exercised on Pernao, the others remain to be exercised or possibly used in some other horse trading. Others looked at include Junior Vicosa of Gremio and a Uruguayan, Santiago Garcia of Nacionale. Benfica and PSV are both interested in Garcia. I don't expect Chelsea to follow either up.}

Hi ed, do the club see the front three as simply attackers? Buying falcao only improves are actually strikers rather than what I would describe as inverted wingers I.e the other two attackers in the formation. I understand that you've said that other strikers will probably leave like Anelka nut it seems to me that we arent addressing the more important issues I.e creativity in the wings. Of course I acknowledge the pursuit of neymar {Ed002's Note - Take Falcao as a replacement for Anelka or Kalou. Kakuta is still to come back, and Sturridge who may give that creativity you mention.}

Which of the 5 that ac milan have reported to have great interest in, if any, will they land this summer do you think? the 5 being: drogba, anelka, alex, kalou, essien. I don't expect a prediction, just your own opinion

thanks {Ed002's Note - It is hard to see all going, but individually Drogba perhaps, Anelka possibly, Alex just maybe, Kalou hopefully and perhaps Essien. Passports held will be a driver as well.}

A few questions:

1. Are there any players which you would like to see at stamford bridge?
2. What do you think villas-boas will bring to the team?
3. Do you have any worries about the future of the chelsea team?

{Ed002's Note - I have put this under Banter so people can respond there.}

Believable1 Unbelievable3

I honestly think Falcao is not a priority signing. Our biggest problem for many years know by all except the people that sign players is creativity. I would insteady prefer Hulk. Same old mistakes seem to be following us. I hope everyone remembers Kezman.

Sky Otalia reporting that juve have agreed terms with aguero. can we expect some Chelsea interest?

Ed, can Villas-Boas also play a 4-4-2 formation (apart from his usual 4-3-3 formation)? {Ed018's Note - i assume so. but he prefers the 4-3-3. with Falcao more than likely coming in, im very intigued to see what is gonna happen with the front line.}

Ed002, do you have any clue of how Villas-Boas can accomodate Falcao, Torres, Drogba, Kalou, Malouda, Sturridge, and possibly Neymar and Lukaku? {Ed002's Note - The answer is that obviously they will not all be at the club.}

Anyone that srolls down a page or two would see that several comments have already been left about several players leaving, so i dont envy your job Ed's, although you do it Sterlingly!! So here is my 2cents:

Lukaku wont and shouldnt be an immediate starter, he'd be a signing for the future and i imagine initially a impact sub. Torres in the middle of a 3 would be sweet and i personally think Drogba is past it. Neymar looks like he could be an expensive liability and Kalou and Malouda have both shown they are too inconsistant. I think Sturridge deserves his chance and playing on the left of a front three with Torres in the centre and someone like Mata on the right (i know he's a left winger, i mean a player to that effect) would be lethal. Add to that Falcao behind them beside lampard with Essien holding and i cant see many teams standing up to it. Of course, we have the small issue of a troublesome right back spot and in my opinion this should be a priority. someone that can attack AND defend, hence not Bosingwa, Ferriera or Ivanovic. A Dani Alves like player is exactly what we need to compliment the effect of Cole on the left. Therefor we would have the following:

Cech

?? Luiz Terry Cole
Essien
Lampard Falcao
?? Torres Sturridge

So you see... 2 more big singings and maybe one or two squad players and we have a potentially lethal squad. If Drogba, Malouda and Ivanovic stay they would be good back-ups, although i dont think any would like the idea.
Lampard would of course be replaced over the next 12 months, as would Cole, and in my opinion these should be with Bertrand and then another English centre mid, although who exactly i aint too sure. Maybe young Josh will do a job if he gets a good loan deal this year.

That is all.

Kalou, Anelka might leave. Lukaku will join next summer he'll probably spend one year on loan in Andrlecht. Quite possible Eto'o will come . Chelsea will play 4-4-2( Villas Boas will partner Torres/Eto'o, Drogba/Sturridge, Falcao/Kalou(if he doesn't leave). Main problem is RM. Sneijder will be AM and rotate with Lampard. Neymar will stay in Brazil.

Ed, if you do have the ear of someone in the know at Chelsea, please, please ask them to get a message to AVB to offer Porto whatever it takes to get Fernando Reges. We can then ditch the horrendous Mikel, lock down the DM position once and for all and raise the tempo of how how the whole team play. What do you think ? {Ed002's Note - Transfers do not work like that I am afraid.}

There is so much speculation about who may be arriving at Chelsea this season but realistically we should be getting players out the door first! Also why have we not heard a AVB press conference as of yet ? {Ed002's Note - Villas-Boas is on holiday and I suspect that a press conference will happen once the players have returned from vacation. PLayers will be moving on with several already having agreed moves or been released from their contracts.}

ed- any development in any transfer and do you think there could be any negotiations this weekend of movement chelsea wise {Ed002's Note - Nothing to note, aside from the agreement for Falcao will likely be completed next week.}

ed- so you are sure falcoa will join next week and what day ? does this mean the end of drogba (i hope so).

{Ed002's Note - It is probable that the move will happen but nothing can be absolutely certain. Marcelo Simonian has, I am told, proposed a package that would be acceptable to the player and, assuming agreement can be reached, I suspect the transfer will go ahead. I have no idea at on which day this will happen. As for Drogba, the purchase of Falcao is not linked to him moving or not. But no doubt he will be seeing what options are open to him.}

He will move to Chelsea if Anderlecht reduce their expectations further. As for de Bruyne, a fee was agreed with Genk but the player has reservations about not getting first team football. A loan is possible.}

If there is, do you know when it will be?

I also want to say that I think if the interest in falcao is real, it is a big mistake! Why would we need another striker?

Realistically, I would love to see Modric, Pastore, VDW and Arda Turan at the bridge.
