So reports are now saying United want Mata in the deal. And apparently because he missed one game he is out of favour.
When will the media give up and accept:
A) he's not for sale according to Jose
B) he doesn't want to leave
C) We'd never sell to a rival
And D) He is our best player and is less important than signing Rooney.
Still think Rooney will join, no start against Chelsea on Monday and this deal will start to motor. £35 million I think.

Why are A and C ok for Chelsea but not applicable to United?

The difference is that Mata is treated with respect at Chelsea and Rooney isn't at United.

Hi Ed more of a question rather than rumour.
Why would we be interested in Eto'o?

10 goals last season in Russia ( 11th on the top scorer list ) a league that's nowhere near the premier league standard.
I admit back in the day he was great but now I think he would struggle and am sure a lot agree with me.
Also he's stated he will stay in Russia for the next season.

I think Jackson Martinez would be a better fit personally.

Anyway great site thanks for the work here. {Ed018's Note - last I heard was we were not interested in Eto'o although his agent has approached Chelsea. Things could've changed and for all I know he might be a possibility now}
