Ed are any clubs interested in Bernard of Mineiro or Adryan of Fluminese? I tried the search function but it was quite dated news. Thanks in advance {Ed002's Note - Atletico Mineiro's Bernard rejected opportunities to join Zenit and a Qatar side last summer but there is a lingering thought that he may still move on. Inter went as far offering part ownership of others in exchange for part ownership of Bernard last summer, but again that was refused. However, AC Milan, Spartak Moscow, Terek Grozny and Shakhtar Donetsk have recently approached Atletico Mineiro and whilst a 12M euro offer from Terek was rejected, it looks like a deal could be still be done and perhaps AC Milan will put together a package including a player as part of the deal or Dortmund who would offer straight cash. Whilst he is certainly attracting interest from several sides and a very good offer could tempt them to sell, I suspect Atletico Mineiro and Bernard would prefer to hold off on any move for, say, another year. Chelsea has been keeping a close eye on his progress as have Manchester City and Roma. He was one of the South American players that Liverpool were scouting earlier in 2012, but that was pre-Rodgers. There has been interest shown in Adryan Tavares by Real Madrid, Porto and Manchester United. AC Milan are looking a package together to take him to Italy in the summer.}

1.) Thanks Ed man

So it look set for a busy summer of transfers for Chelsea. Personally I think all the players we have been linked with would make good additions to the squad:

Eliaquim Mangala- Strong, tall, traditional centre back. Quite pacy and still a lot to learn at only 22. Bit of an asking price though. 10mil less than the 30mil asking price would be good business.

Raphael Varane- So much potential in him. Again a very traditional centre back. Puts himself in the fray isn't afraid to get hurt. May be keen for a reunion with Jose.

Kevin-Prince Boateng (this is quite a recent rumour but I'll still analyse it)- I know probably noone likes him after what he did to Michael Ballack but there's no denying he's a superb talent. Strong, quick, creative and versatile. Would be a fantastic holding midfielder with Luiz or Ramires

Sami Khedira- Again another Real player Jose is keen on having with him at Chelsea. Fantastic CDM. Good reader of the game. Can chip in with goals and a few assists and would definitely be a better alternative to Mikel

Wesley Sneijder- IMO should be rated up there with the likes of the Fabregas' and the Iniestas. Such an eye for a pass. Good shot from distance and a marksman with the dead ball.

Andre Schurlle- I believe this transfer is almost completed. A fantastic young player. I remember watching him at the Euros with Germany and thinking 'why would we want such a ball greedy, chance wasting player' but when watching him in the Bundesliga he looked awesome. Has so much pace, good snaky movement and an eye for a pass. Works very effectively on the left wing as he likes to cut in and shoot.

Edin Dzeko- Tbh I don't really want Dzeko at Chelsea. I think he would be a flop at the club. However, if he was to be a success I think it would be a good signing. A MUCH cheaper alternative to Cavani and could score just as many. If we were to sign him I just hope he can maintain a scoring streak.

Stevan Jovetic- Another brilliant player to be linked with. So pacy and agile. Good movement. I think he would work best just in behind the main striker with Mata and Hazard operating at the sides of him. Would be even sweeter if we were to nick him away from Arsenal.

Hulk- I know Jose would be very keen on this transfer. Kinda like Ronaldo but for less than half the price. Strong, pacy and versatile with a hell of a strike on him. Honestly could play anywhere on the pitch and still be effective.

Edinson Cavani- Save the best till last. Obviously RA will be a bit reluctant to spend 50mil on another striker but tbh FT9 was already on the declining spiral when Roman bought him whereas this guy just keeps getting better. Strong, pacy, energetic, presence in the air, good mover and such a good finishing prowess. I was gutted we lost out on Falcao but Cavani I think would be a more than adequate replacement.

Thought guys and girls

Talberto

1.) I think what Roman and Chelsea need to realise is that players like Cavani will bring as much money to the club as their transfer fee. Torres was like you said, on a bit of a downward spiral in form before he even joined Chelsea. Cavani is a complete striker just like Drogba if not slightly better. He is a great finisher, comes back to defend and is then up the other end of the pitch in a flash. Not sure about Hulk but we do need a CB, RB, DMF/AMF and a CF. Scott M.

2.) Dzeko - smokescreen? Showing Napoli that we could go for another striker. In other words; leverage. Hulk "sort of like Ronaldo. " if only! But I agree would be a lot cheaper. It's all relative - how much dosh are we going to spend. Nice post Talberto.
Steve

3.) Great post
Thanks man

4.) Why would we need a RB? We have Azpi, Wallace and both Ivanovic and Tomas Kalas can fill in there

5.) Todd Kane

Just like to put a question by you lads. Who do you think is better: Bale or Hazard?
Personally (without being biased) I think Hazard is better. There probably equal in terms of pace and Bale maybe edges him out in the defensive part of the game. But the impact Hazard has on the game is unbelievable. He has more confidence and skill to take on his man. Always looking positive pulling his marker every which way. Better passer than Bale. And he isn't overrated (Bale rated at 70mil or so). The only reason some people think Bale is better is because he's a one man team, Welsh, Hazard doesn't get the recognition and people don't particularly like Hazard because of the 'ball-boy' situation.
Whats you views lads?

Talberto

1.) I think Bale's had a better season up until now, but Hazard's going to be a better player in the future. But right now the edge goes to Bale for me

Franco

2.) It's pretty close, but I'd say Bale has a slight edge, his speed, crossing and shooting is a bit better than Hazard's and that takes some doing because as we have seen, Hazard has a hell of a shot on him and good pace! Eden is more skillfull than Bale, but overall I'd say Bale.

3.) Hazard just needs to add more goals then he will be considered a world class talent even though I already think he is. The big difference is in their physique just like Ronaldo compared to Messi.

4.) Bale.
Cfcmatt.

5.) Spurs fan here, pleased with the honesty here and I am biased. yes bale is very very good and has edged it on hazard this season but I doubt he will do it again, not because bale is a one season wonder because that isn't true but because I think with the right treatment hazard looks to be the next "messi" not a title he would want but his control, skill and running is scary if you don't support chelse. With him and the likes of mata you will be winning the title if not next year definitely the year after. let's not forget he is very young and this is his settling in season so plenty more to come I reckon. good luck for the rest of the season except when you play us of course. the two mancs teams us and you for cl football I hope. oh and I nearly forgot IF you do get jose back you will be truly lethal again

dave

6.) Hazard because he can control the game better than bale.

Cali

7.) Bales game is based purely on pace and power.
Hazard has a better footballing brain.
Bale has been better this season for sure, but its hazards first season.

8.) Bale on form, yeahhhh

Billy

9.) I think we are seeing the best of bale. But we aren't seeing the best of hazard is the only way I will put it.

Lads I've just been doing some digging on the Neymar situation and if all this paper talk is something to go on I wouldn't rule out Chelsea moving for him. Here are my reasons. I know I'm probably looking into things far too much but everyone can dream right?:
1. A pre-contract agreement in place with Barca which Neymar publicly came out and denied TWICE.
2. He expressed a desire to play in the Prem one day.
3. He said he does not want to play for Man City.
4. He said if he moved to Barca he may not suit their style of play (on the count of him being ball greedy as hell).
5. My personal favourite. he's learning English.

Now reasons why he should move to Chelsea:
1. The Brazilian influence we have is unbelievable with the likes of Oscar, Luiz, Ramires and Piazon.
2. Roman would definitely want to whip his checkbook out if the kid became available.
3. Chelsea are currently in a transitional period but once we come out of it we'll start to become the force we once were a few years ago and begin writing our own history.
4. he's only 21-22 years old so if he does become a massive hit at the Blues then he could become a true legend.

I know this is speculative thinking and we're probably not the front runners to sign Neymar but the prospect of Neymar and Oscar in the same team is just simply mouth-watering.

The team could be something like:
Cech
Azpil Luiz Iva/Terry Cole
Oscar Ramires
Hazard Mata Neymar
Falcao

Talberto

1.) If he does move away from Santos which i'm not convinced he ever will, he will go to whoever pays him the most, he'd play for Anzi if they will pay him millions a week, he is a great prospect but is greedy, Money and with Ball and isn't bothered about improving he thinks he is the best player in the world already. unless changes his attitude he will become a flop.
One Bomb Tom

2.) How do u know he's greedy for money and isn't bothered about improving? Do u know him personally?. thought not.
What a ridiculous post.
Cfcmatt.

3.) He already considers himself the worlds best striker and he demanded so much money from Santos they had to share his rights with just about anyone to make sure he earns what he does, I don't think it takes someone to know him to come to the conclusion he has a bad attitude and is greedy.

4.) Plus he was crap against England and Russia recently

5.) I would prefer de bruyne to get a chance also Marin. Or sign reus! Over neymar. BLUEBOY1

6.) To say he is only after the money and isn't bothered about improving is a lot or rubbish, he has already been offered the money elsewhere and turned it down to stay in brazil to improve and wait till he is ready for the European game, something that Oscar never done, but it has worked out well for him

Thought I'd have a go at player ratings (please don't give me grief about it because it is MY opinion):
Cech 8- Pulled off a good save in the first half from Hernandez and that save in the second half was absolutely SUPERB!
Azpil 7- Probably our most active defender. Dealt with everything he had to.
Luiz 6- Not really that much to do. Quiet performance.
Ivanovic 6- Pretty much same as Luiz.
Bertrand 6- Again same as the centre halves. Didn't push forward as much as Cole does but solid enough in defence
Ramires 6- Tried a few bursts but nothing really came off for him today. Solid enough though.
Mikel 7- Few good interceptions basically a normal days work for Mikel but I noticed he was a little more positive in attack.
Oscar 5- Really disappointed with the little lad. Passing was short, looked a little leggy, didn't really offer much in attack and was probably more effective at tracking back.
Mata 5- Pretty much same as Oscar. Uncharacteristically loose, short passes, again looked a little fatigued but good ball to assist Demba.
Hazard 7- Looked the most positive of the 'Three Amigos' having a few jinking runs but unfortunately nothing came of these.
Ba 8 (MOTM)- Brilliant today. His hold up play allowed others into the game. Strong, pacy and always looking to drag the defence back. Took his goal absolutely brilliantly. Top draw finish.

Not the greatest performance. I thought 2 of our most influential players were a little bit weary but all in all a good victory. All we need to do now is keep on winning EVERY game that comes our way. Simple right, right?

Talberto

1.) See this is terrible people wanna think mikel is this super player, but he got done more than he made tackles, ramires covered him really well.

2.) I'd give Cech a 9/10, THAT save, clean sheet, organised defence well as he was captain.
