Ok I am going to spill the beans. Why don't we know what our best team is? What is this new obsession with players defending as well as attacking? It is ok to make a mistake as long as you chase the ball back. How about you don't make a mistake and you score so that you don't have to chase the ball back? Build the bloody players confidence instead of breaking it like Mata's by actually telling him he is not good enough because he is not chasing the ball when he looses it? This is NOT the Jose who gave us glory. This is a stubborn old man who tries to prove he is right all the time. There I have said it.

Tend to agree. A few of Jose's actions have surprised me. His treatment of mata, not playing azpillicueta, not trying luiz in midfield and mainly his continuing playing of lampard. Please Jose show us you are still the special one.

I have just read some of the above comments. I think you people should be careful what you wish for.
As for Jose being a stubborn old man. When he left Chelsea he hasn't sat and done nothing. He won all that was possible with an average team in Italy. He also took the league off barca setting scoring records and points records.
He is now back at his and our beloved Chelsea but it takes a while to blend a team. I agree when frank plays we are too ponderous going forward. But the problem is frank is reliable and works hard. Several of the others can be hit and miss, luiz, hazard, KDB and mikel. This is the problem when he has got that team ethic you will see us fly. That doesn't happen over night so there will be good days and bad.
However all I would say to those comments above is ' bring back rafa "

Agree with some stuff and I no this may sound stupid but I think mourinho hasn't got his team and I mean he hasn't got the players he wants (YET) I can remember a interview were he spoke and he didn't seem convinced that he cudnt win it with what he had just kept saying its a project I love mourinho and believe in what he does don't understand why lampard understand mata reason with wrk rate but he will do what's best for chelsea

I'm done asking that question and tbf we played an important match a couple days ago. My questions are what really is our offensive philosophy?
Do we have the pieces now to be a great counter-attacking team?
And what is our plan B for Epl matches where just about every opponent sits back against us?

Boy do we need a top quality midfielder like Pogba. Lampard just can't play any more. Top transfer target in january imo. {Ed018's Note - you are absolutely right. Lampard doesn't have it anymore}

I fully agree. We really need a quality player in the middle. Someone who's both physical enough to do the defensive work, but is technically skilled as well.
You mention Pogba, and he's a good shout, but he might be hard to prize away from Juve.
Anyone know who could be a good alternative to Pogba?

Can't see Pogba coming. Alternatives Cesc, Matic, Schweinsteiger, Tony Kroos, Gundogan, Bender. Or simply DeBruyne, Mikel, Essien or v.Ginkel.

Ness, if i'm honest, van ginkel is injured, essien is getting on, mikel not good enough attacking wise and de bruyne not good enough defensive wise. We need an all-rounder, not just another player who can only pass sideways and backwards. We need someone like Yaya Toure. Or in other words, Pogba.

Completely agree. Our centre mid next to rami is what's holding us back at this point. Pogba would be fabulous as he can sit deep and break up play (which allows rami to get forward) and he has a fabulous passing range and can dictate the tempo of our team. I would say he's a lot easier to get than a good number of the people you mentioned as a bunch of people within juve have said its a matter of time before he's sold.

I can't help wondering if whether Mourinho was perhaps intending to slowly integrate Van Ginkel this season, and now with the injury that's the reason Frank is playing so many still? {Ed002's Note - Certainly the injury is disruptive to the squad, but the club has to suck it up and move on.}

What is Lampard doing to warrant a position in the team? He is has a negative passing style and physically isn't capable of dominating a midfield. Havent seen anything this season that makes him get a starting position.
Luiz over Lampard in CM any day now.

I'm not going to go that far as saying he doesn't deserve a place on the squad, what I have been saying for a few seasons is that in the 4-2-3-1 lamps doesn't possess the tools to play the most important position in that formation. Play him as a winger, #10 or striker I don't care.

Lampard AGAIN. they should bring him on about 60minute mark when the opposition are tiring not at start he wasnt got the pace or legs any more (legend he will always be) starting 11 he should not, my opinion
