Getting back to the subject 'Pogba' now :)

So far, he still hasn't signed an extension yet at Juventus (if I recall correctly). If he doesn't sign one and we get to the summer transfer window, then Juventus would probably lose him for significantly less money than they could've got for him this past transfer window.
With all that said, I'd be disappointed if the club didn't try to get him again in January. There will be a LOT of competition for him (especially in the summer with just 1 year left on his contract), so perhaps Juve would be more willing to do a deal if we offered a reasonable amount. 40 million and a cut price for Ramires would be fine opener ;-)

That's my thoughts exactly. If he hasn't signed a contract extension by next summer then Juve's going to deal him. But as you said I'd love to beat the rush and tie it up in January.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice theory Jack, for some reason I feel we will get Pogba. January or next summer I think Jose would push for him, with the way the club has been doing their business of late It's obvious we have a plan and I'm certain Pogba is on that must buy list and we are just going to strike at the right moment, only downside is I think Oscar might be the player to take the chop but in reality I think Pogba is the only player I wouldbt mind picking over him.

Just my opinion could be way off, but the club has been brilliant last three, four windows and I can see us doing the same come January and next summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not just that he's immensely talented, but he's homegrown as well. And lord knows the club need some more of those. Think our biggest competition for his signature could be United actually. Doesn't look like Madrid are interested in buying any players if they're not attacking midfielders and City already have 3 very good central midfielders.
He makes too much sense for us not to bring him in.

To add to you eli I wouldn't mind reus over oscar also.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love it if Pogba came in, even if it was at the expense of Oscar. Unless Oscar proves to be consistent this season. Also agree with LRD. In an ideal world I'd swap Oscar and Salah for Pogba and Reus.

I agree with ELI, I think our club are playing a superbly smart game now and recently in regard to transfers. I wouldn't be at all surprised with Ramires for Varane with Real in January and Oscar with Juve for Pogba and cash as we have Paizon still coming on. Football is a business now with the players being commodities, people give our club s**t about buying and loaning so many quality youngsters but I see this as the way forward(ffp etc) and I think we lead the way here, we bought Oscar(whom I love) but then get the next "Oscar" in Paizon who we showcase away from the club whilst enabling us to sell high(Oscar) to get someone like Pogba(HG) and still have the next best thing waiting in the wings. I may be wrong but I think we've stolen a march on everybody here with our foresight.
Roman is a successful and canny businessman(god bless him, I've supported this club through thick and thin for decades) and I think we have got our head around how it will all work in the future and I think we are setting the blueprint for the future.
Again, I may have it all wrong but I think not(hopefully)
I would appreciate my fellow fans/supporters thoughts.

ED002 what's the situation with Bakkali, he has 12 months on his contract and is apparently training with the B team now. I'm assuming a few clubs will pursue his signature in January and chuck some money his way. I remember that you said he had looked at him do you think we would still be interested?

I see him as the perfect Chelsea buy and loan prospect or even a squad player to replace a Salah who doesn't seem in Mourinho's immediate plans.

Thanks

{Ed002's Note - PSV would like him to sign a new contract. It looks unlikely he will. I am aware of two clubs that have spoken with his representative in recent days. I am really not interested in providing such information to this page any more.}

Ed you might as well just leave permanently if the other fans from other pages come on here and abuse you. If you don't want to contribute, don't

Thanks for being a great editor and contributing brilliant information over the years.

and until you rather ignore the posts, or they just magically stop, I don't think you'll be helping us out much anymore

Thanks for everything. You bloody legend

Actually didn't see where Ed was offended again that he would go on strike again :/ anyway we still have another 2 Eds which are more than helpful and is up to us lads to keep our page enjoyable for us regulars (added myself to this group as using this site more than 3 years now even just started to share my opinion recently) and for readers like me in the past. We all need and love this page as it became a small part of my life as everyday I am checking what's going on.

Sorry for long post lads (and girls of course) and for my mistakes but hey I am bloody foreigner but my heart is proudly blue like everyone else's on this site :)

So ed002 finally makes a return and 5 mins later he is off again due to foul abuse! I don't understand why this only happens on the Chelsea page? Are there just posters lurking in the background waiting for a reply from him, the persons then pounce and ruin it for everybody else. It absolutely disgusts me! just don't understand why they are just not instantly banned.

Agree0 Disagree0

People can be banned, its been proven some of the posters aren't even Chelsea supporters. don't understand if someone sends in abuse you just suspend there account. Punishes us lot who loves this sight and check it daily.

Ok Guys quick poll. Who will be our next Captain when JT hangs up his boots?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I personally feel it will either be Cahill or fabregas. Cahill all the way for me as I think he has the attributes to become a great leader.

I do hope its either ivanovic or cahill those 2 will have some balls to pick up captaincy from such a great leader

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah good shout with cahill. He has improved greatly working with JT. Brana has the drive but don't want him teaching the Kidney punch as the best way to settle an on pitch battle. lol

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd say Azpi could be a good captain, if only he played more centrally. He obviously gives his all for the team and I think he could do well.
Just get Varane in and after a season or 2 make him the captain for the next 10 years.

Pogba in 2016 :)

I don't really think we need to buy someone and make him captain it has to be established player who have chelsea years behind his back. That's why I can't see fabregas getting captaincy. Matic would be a great shout but maybe in 2 - 3 years time

Yeah it just depends on the timing of it all. I'm sure if you asked most people 2 years ago they would've said David Luiz. With that said i'd love for costa to get it. Imagine a ref trying to stand up to him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope you guys don't mind me butting in with this but I thought it was a fantastic question.

If Terry were to say retire tomorrow then I'm not sure if there would be a stand out candidate. Much like the situation was at United this summer.

I would have said Cech but that door seems to be closed firmly.

Cahill and Ivanovic are brilliant shouts! I'm not sure about Matic though.

Just thought I would give an outside opinion :).

Agree0 Disagree0

I only see three people capable, Cahill, ivanovic and cesc. But saying that I think azpilicueta would be a good choice as playing by example instead of being a big talker goes a long way.

Agree0 Disagree0

My man kurt zouma in 2016!

Wouldn't it be irony that ex arsenal captain became Chelsea captain? And azplicueta is good workhorse but I don't think he have qualities to become a leader where I See those qualities in Matic

Agree0 Disagree0

Fabregas. Easy choice for me. Quite simply he has the footballing brain that not many of the other players do, has years of premier league experience behind him regardless of where and he has a winning mentality. He also communicates on the pitch well and sees things nobody else does.

Cahill doesn't seem to be able to dominate a defence like JT, he puts himself on the line no doubt, but does he see the game quite that same way I'm not so sure.

Brana is just a brick wall of pain for the opposition. Not the man for captaincy though. Communication and organisation would be an issue.

Just my thoughts.
