Ed, you mentioned that we were quoted a price for Fabregas when enquiring with Barcelona about another player. May I ask who that player is?

{Ed002's Note - Done to death - people should read the posts.}

Thanks ELI. And sorry Ed for the annoyance, I had checked through previous posts beforehand but didn't realise you were talking about a player we were considering selling rather than buying. Again, sorry for the question.

Fun fact. Costa was 3rd behind Ronaldo and messi in la liga goal scorers. He also has missed most chances for striker on top 5 leagues. So this means he will need a lot of chances created to get the goals, . Fingers crossed.,

Ed, what's the latest with Fabregas?

Are the reports true that the Chelsea board want him but Mourihno doesn't?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed - the only thing I am aware of is Chelsea being given a price when in discussions with Barcelona about someone else - we have done all of this.}

04 Jun 2014 16:41:44
Yes Boys Costa is ourssssss! let's the good times roll :)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

As long as Costa can stay fit and his injury problems are behind him then I am extremely excited to see him in a Chelsea shirt next season, great signing!

Hi ed
I see Eden hazard has said he will not discuss his future till after the World Cup.
To my mind that gives a clear indication that there is something to talk about, ie that he will be on his way or hinting to psg he is open to a move.
If that is the way he is thinking and we can get 65 million plus then let him go. Don't get me wrong I don't want him to go, but if he doesn't want to stay then cash in and put that money to bring in two good players. Ie shaw and Barclay who will possibly be more loyal and stay with us for years to come. The trouble with foreign imports a lot don't have that loyalty and just see us as stepping stone. Not all obviously but some do.
Sorry a bit long winded

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about - sorry.}

He has just been given the number 10 jersey and the club has offered to refund anyone who has brought a hazard 17 shirt for this season he has also come out and said that he's glad he has the number 10 top has its his favorite number the one he wears for his country and his hero's growing up wore and he can't wait for Chelsea fans to see him in it next season. On top of that multiple times Mourinho has said how he plans to built the team around Hazard, I have no doubt that at some point Real will more then likely get him what I am certain of however is that it won't be this year and when he does go it is going to take a lot more then 60 million. If Chelsea get this years transfer right we Could become a real force in which case he would have no reason to leave anyway if Chelsea can bring in a few of the top targets which Ed has told us about the club has a real chance to step it up a level and be truly great.

Usually I'm the first to jump out and defend Hazard, good to see i'm beaten to the punch. Couldn't have said it any better Lampsy mate

I think people are over reading things. Hazard isn't going anywhere.

Runours about mueller are exciting. Not being linked with Chelsea but about his future. Now there is a player who has a passion and hard working and can score and create. Don't want people jumping down my throat because I'm not linking him with us. Just saying his brilliant player and if he does leave bayern whoever gets him will be a lot better on the coming season

Just had a look at the Arsenal Rumours site for some lunchtime entertainment, one of the Ed's on there seems to think we will bring Fagrebas to replace Oscar.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'd only be happy for Oscar to go if we got massive money, and koke In or rues! We seem to be a selling club this summer bit worrying,

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't consider us to be a selling club. Last year JM brought in a few players but mostly kept the squad the same. A year on, he's been able to judge the players and has a better idea who does and doesn't fit into his plans. I don't think JM would let anyone leave that wants to keep.
I for one am quite happy that we seem to be selling players and for quite large amounts of money. Of all the players that have left us over the last 5-6 years, they've either left for free or quite small amounts. It's progress that we're able to sell players that don't feature as much for large amounts.

Agree0 Disagree0

A selling club? We've only sold Luiz who spent most season on the bench.

Agree0 Disagree0

In 6 months we have sold mata de bruyne Luiz. And are players are heavily linked with moves away just as much as players in, . Like ed has said. Likely to leave. Mikel kakuta Marin Moses Bertrand Ba. Oscar linked away, ivanovic linked away, hazard heavily linked.

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres likely out too. I know it's a revamp and out with the old but we need to be careful,

Agree0 Disagree0

All the players that have left were not being used though. Only one I'd be slightly worried for is Oscar as towards the end of season his time was limited. But I still don't think he will be sold

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes we need to be careful with regards to the extent and how quickly we change things but as far as I'm concerned, the ones that we seem willing to sell, aren't good enough to stay. Apart from Oscar and perhaps Ivanovic (Hazard won't be sold). But both are quite easily replaceable and I trust the club's decision whatever that may be.

Hi Ed, I know others have asked but surely there's some substance now to the Fabregas rumours?.

Also reading that Felipe Luis is increasingly likely as they have agreed a fee for a replacement?.

Other than the obvious being Costa, do we have any other strikers lined up?

Cheers mate.

Arsenal fan here.
While a few of you are mentioning it, Fabregas signing for your lot isn't as big news as it is on our site.
Consensus within Arsenal fans is that it's pretty much done, and we're she*ping ourselves.
Do you lot even want him?
Do you think it will happen?

I personally think there are far better options.

Agree0 Disagree0

Certainly wouldn't be my first choice. But if we ended up with him I wouldn't mind too much. Still not entirely sure that it'll happen. He's said horrible stuff about JM and Chelsea in the past which I would normally think would rule him out. Having said that I never thought Benitez would manage Chelsea, so who knows.
Would prefer Pogba, Kroos, Koke before Fabregas.

Agree0 Disagree0

Although he's considered HG which is in his favour as we're quite lacking in that area atm.
Ed, Pogba isn't considered HG is he? I don't think he was at Utd for long enough but not sure.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you really see Chelsea paying 80m€ to sign Pogba?
I expect Chelsea to sign Fabregas/Kroos/Barkley two of those three. Khedira/Sandro/Vidal only one of those 3.
I am confident that at the end Shaw will sign for us as well.
After giving n10. To Hazard Oscar is most probably about to leave. And IMO A.Madrid isn't going to sell Koke.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought Juventus wanted 60m but regardless, ed has said we no nothing about real figures. I believe that Chelsea wouldn't be looking at him and considering him if they weren't prepared to pay the amount Juve want or thought they could negotiate a lower price.
Barkley would cost more than Kroos or Fabregas so I don't think we'd sign him. And I doubt we'd buy Khedira/Sandro/Vidal unless we sold Ramires.
Isn't Barca selling Fabregas in order to fund a move for Koke? Plus he has a buy-out clause which if Barca matched they wouldn't have a choice.
