Well I guess the only we are going to the champions league next season is to win the Champions league its self. Can't believe the line-up today, well then again RDM line-ups have been really weird and have always come good but not today. But I Still think we should have put out a stronger team, this game was definitely more Important than the FA cup to me. we may have been unlucky tonight, but the choices that rdm makes in players like mikel, malouda, meireles are shocking & yet he keeps doing it.
On that basis, I for one don't want him charge next year. You new fans may get on your soap box about this, but us older fans, who have seen it all, call it as it is.

Who would you have played instead? We need to rotate to keep players fresh, fighting on three fronts takes it out of the players. If whoever you wanted to play tonight played and then the players you just mentioned played at the weekend, I'm sure youd still f##cking moan. Lampard is kicking on 34, he can't play every week.

2 shots on target at home, against a two bob side, whilst trying to get in the champion's league next year, you just lost your chance rdm of getting the job. But after playing, the likes of mikel, malouda, meireles, you get what you desreve.
We need a manager who is going to take chances with some youngsters, instead of playing these numpty's.
No doubt he'll still play them all against liversmall or swap malouda for kalou.

Well i learnt 5 things from tonight.
1) Papiss Cisse has the best boots in the league, unstoppable strikes.
2) Malouda, Mereilles, Sturridge; never play in this kit again. I can live with poor players who work hard and try, but those 3 are lazy and aren't our quality.
3) Tiote and Ben Arfa would be as good buys as any playmaker and a right-midfielder in the world. If we need a pair of players in those positions and if we win the Champions League, we can attract them.
4) Torres still needs service. Mereilles, Sturridge. Not service. A quality playmaker is needed, then he would score.
5) We struggle against breaking down defensive teams. Thats all Newcastle were, apart from a pair of stunning strikes from the senegalese star. Not looking forward to seeing him against the UK in the olympics.

Lets take the defeat on the chin, pretty even apart from the wonder goals (Which lets be honest, no keeper would save) and win the cup on Sunday.

Agree with most of the comment,but only one thing mate all the strikers ,not just Torres, need passes to score most of their goals,wonder strikes or goals happen rarely.We have known all along that we lacked a playmaker since Ballack left so we have struggled in the League.We just need to sign one or two this summer.

Roan, I mean in our case, every striker needs service mainly, apart from a few wonder strikes. Would love a gamble on Axel Witsel/Fellaini/Chieck Tiote as I think they could do the job well

I think Robbie Di Matteo needs a long term contract if he wins something this season Champions league or not.Here are my reasons,He is still young but not to young for a manager,he loves the club and will work hard for it,he is positive and can be good tactically and he can also be a good man to man manager.(really didn't expect that),he doesn't force the players to play in a certain way,he trusts his younger players and 2nd choice players when needed,he knows his players inside out.Abramovic will need a long term manager for chelsea to go forward and be a more economical club one of these days like Untied.
