Hey Ed001, firstly I want to thank you for all the hard work you, and all the other eds do, especially those reports you've been writing lately. That being said, I was wondering who you think would be a good replacement for Terry as captain, since this is possibly his last season with us.

{Ed001's Note - thank you very much for the compliments first off. Secondly, that is quite possibly the most difficult job of all to do, replace Terry! I don't see a ready made captain in the squad, not someone who stands out as a leader in the way Terry did. So I would give it to Azpilicueta. He is a very steady player, clearly intelligent in football terms, which is why he is able to put in such excellent performances so consistently. He would have the respect of his team mates, plays in a position that allows him to see the game in front of him and allows him to organise the players. Plus he is long serving at the club, which means he has earnt the seniority, so there will be little in the way of grumbles to deal with from the other players passed over.}

Thank you for the swift reply :-) . Azpilicueta would probably be my choice as well, although I do agree that no one in particular really stands out, the way Terry did.

{Ed001's Note - yeah, with Terry it was a case of having to be an idiot to pick anyone else. There are very few of those kind of players left these days. Players are becoming almost robotic, with a constant desire for instruction at every moment.}
