It'll probably be a lot of factors combined. The bid will probably have to be acceptable to the player, the club, the agents involved etc. It's nowhere near as simplistic as a lot of us think (myself included).

Douglas Costa wanting to play for Chelsea and us wanting him are two different matters. There were lots of whispers that the 'Bossman' wanted to bring him from Russia but that was not what 'others' wanted. They had every chance and I am glad it did not happen as it takes time for players from that league to adapt. We need someone with height that can be a target for crosses at that is not Costa's strong point.

With vietto, Martinez and konaplyanka looking pretty much set for atletico Madrid, will the signing/negotiations for griezeman and/or turan become easier knowing that they both have what I assume are replacements?
