ED just asking have you been to any Chelsea games this season? {Ed002's Note - I went to one in August. I may go on Wednesday if time allows.}

hi eds
are any clubs interested in robbie di matteo? {Ed002's Note - A couple on teh mainland but nothing firm.}

Lads, we need a natural right winger right? What about Callum mcmanaman? He's got lovely dancing feet, lots of flair very direct plus he's homegrown.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Was just about to post something similar, looks like a young Duff to me.
Would be cheap too if Wigan get relegated.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2013 19:30:09
A few games for us and he'll be useless! He's not done much to reach Moses' level. For the good of his career, he needs a few more years at Wigan. We won't have patience with him as usual.

Agree0 Disagree0

At least he beats a mane and delivers a decent cross and decent first touch unlike Moses!

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2013 22:55:29
His delivery is poor. He just beats one man over and over again. Mose has had a fairly decent season, not as bad as Young, Nani or Valencia and all those players cost far more than him. Give him a break and he could be better next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think kone would be an excellent buy

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this the first time you lot have watched wigan play? there players are good at times because they work well together, none of them would make chelsea better, seems like everyones getting excited over one game to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not at all kone has been a good individual player as well as a good team player throughout the season for Wigan. What makes u the transfer genius! Bale come from Southampton Rooney come from Everton and so on. Some of the smaller clubs generally create fantastic players so there is always a possibility that a Wigan player could become a superstar so keep your negative opinions to yourself thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale has been at spurs nearly 6 years now. Only now is he reaching the potential and level needed for a top side. Chelsea aren't likely to wait 6 years for a player to reach such a level.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2013 18:41:11
Ive liked him all season but McManaman is looking very dangerous today against City.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree that he's been playing well but I don't think we should try to buy him. Really happy for Wigan that they won, they play great at times and have a couple of great players. It'd be a shame if they got relegated, hope they beat Arsenal on Tuesday

Congratz guys. I always knew. rafa will do it.
he will win the Europa league.
he is the bets in keeping the squad and rotation.
only carlo anchelotti matches him.

Sir alex has lost more matches only to rafa benitez past 10 years.

You hate him. you slate him. but believe in him and trust him. only living manager on earth who took a non real and barca side to spanish title.

This page is full of people slating rafa when we where 1-0 down, we won so are people going to praise him now. didn't think so. {Ed018's Note - no reason to}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No. Why would we?

Agree0 Disagree0

Even with JT injured, he was always going to start Luiz in midfield in EL. He put that game first. Everyone knew we needed too win this game, and secure CL football. I'm glad he made the change at half time, but he was reactive too the situation, not proactive from the outset. The team, DL and FL in particular, deserve credit for their passion and determination. Not Rafa. He put his career before our club, again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unbelievable, rafa hardly made the difference today.

ED002 why won't the club offer Lampard a 1 year deal after everything he has given : ( can't imagine chelsea without him. {Ed002's Note - Eventually time comes.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He can leave, an all-time legend of the club now. Scores a brace too secure CL football. Another fantastic memory.

He is only an option on substantially less wages, which I rightly can'tsee him considering. He doesn't offer what he use too in open play. Far slower and more wasteful with the ball. If he agreed too less wages, I would say he would be terrific as a squad player, ala Giggs at united. But I think this tops game tops off an unbelievable Chelsea career, that like Drogba, ends on a high.

Agree0 Disagree0

I love frank he's been amazing for us. But I believe it's time for him to leave. One more season why not, but times are changing for the good of the club. End of next season will be cole and jt, and the new era really starts.

Sorry for the negativity, but we were playing with 10 men the whole first half anyway, Moses was worse than awful.

n KDB does it again for Bremen. that guy is better than Moses and Marin, he must stay
Blueprint

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You are right mate, KDB has to stay in Chelsea at all cost, he is a real talent. As I see we just need a striker (may be), with Lukaku back, a defensive mid (Mikel has to go).
KDB can be that special one to replace Lamps, he is very versatile. Hope we do not sign Schurrle, I would give the hugely talented Piazon a go next year.

It's not a miracle, it's skill with a bit of luck. Respect to Chelsea for playing till the last whistle. This match has made me proud to call myself a Chelsea fan purely because of the heart they displayed throughout the game and keeping the will to stay in the champions league. I will be the first to admit I didn't think they would come back but they managed to pulled through. Congratulations to the team but we couldn't have done it without the legend himself, Frank Lampard. Some take decades to be recognised as a legend but we have one playing with us now and the day he leaves will be a regretful one for the club. Looking forward to the next few matches, especially the Europa league final.

An important away game, behind and with ten men. Barcelona anyone?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Against barcelona it looked like we had the desire to get it done and we didn't have a striker like Ba who loses possession every single time

Yes, that kind of miracle needed. VBS

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2013 13:40:56
Things don't look good right now, but let's keep the faith. We've got the quality to turn this around even with 10 men. If we don't, then let's pray to god Stoke are up for it tomorrow

PS: if we lose I don't think I'm going to be able to study anymore today. That's right, I'm that pissed

Jackson

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 May 2013 13:35:32
For me it's got to be Moses off Luiz on. Otherwise I think we might just end up letting the game get away from us. Mata/Hazard both need to stay on for their ability to create and keep possession.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ramires has probably just cost us the game.
Bruce

Agree0 Disagree0

AHAHAH. I guess I know how Rafa thinks.

Agree0 Disagree0

Next sub has to be Torres on for Ba. Torres will work harder.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good call, Moses hasn't looked good, in fact offering little today so far. Ramires a bit unlucky to be sent off imho, and will now miss Everton game though I expect us to be much more up for that game than this Villa one of course. VBS

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2013 13:35:07
Looks like I was right to be nervous about this game despite be accused of negativity. Benitez seems to struggle to get team in right frame of mind to play lower teams and Top Four finish seemingly not as important to him as Europa league. Villa look more up for it despite our possession and we will now need a miracle in second half not to have to beat Everton in final game (and Moyes's final game). So come on Frank, score a double! VBS

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Benitez fault to get the players in the right frame of mind lol do you blame benitez for the rain swell?

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2013 13:34:11
Just need to up it all. Poor poor first half. Get Luiz on for Lampard and get Oscar on for Moses, we need a result here!
EH17
P. S. Ramires first yellow card was ridiculous because it wasn't a booking, second one was and he walks. Benteke deliberately elbows Azpilicueta and stays on the pitch. Ridiculous refereeing.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 May 2013 13:34:00
Worst performance of season. As usual a game we should win is a game we are most probably going to lose now. We won't beat Everton either so it really is over.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Do I have to remind you of Athletico Madrid?

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2013 13:33:41
Ba and Moses look so impotent at the moment. I can see why Torres has been preferred recently, can't see either of these two grabbing anything here today!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ba looks poor because he has lost his edge due to being left out all tge time, there's no escuse to starting torres in the prem, should never happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ba has only really been left out of occasional game and the Europa League games, I wouldn't say that's all the time

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed with above. ^ He hasn't had a consistent run but that's due to ineligible and a daunting fixture list. Rafa's needed to rotate the squad in order to keep players fresh. Ba certainly isn't used to playing a game every 3 days for a whole season.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2013 13:33:11
Anyone else getting right peed off that all the commentators seem to think that we care about is the Europa league?

I don't know about anyone else, but I'd much rather us qualify for the CL next year, than win that second rate tournament.

Not happy.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The commentators don't think we just care about the europa league, they think rafa only cares about the europa league, which doesn't seem that farfetched

jscottjr

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2013 13:33:09
Great. Down to 10 men. Villa scored one from their only shot on target. I think we were unlucky with the two shots we had. But overall a pretty horrible performance. Don't think it'll get any better.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 May 2013 13:32:58
Rafa Benitez has no control over our players having their thumbs up their ass. He put out a team very capable of winning yet were getting beaten by a relegation fighter. Talent wise we aren't 17 points off united but these guys have to change their attitude if they think they have a shot of getting a championship.

Tk

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think Rafa has a problem with motivating the team against lower teams. Either that or our players just don't realise that they need to give 100% all the time and that they can't coast through any game.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2013 13:30:38
Disappointed that Neither Oscar or Luiz started.

To me this is a key game and we must take seriously. Not happy that we are trailing. We need Oscar and Torres on at half time.

Getting a win against Everton will be very diifcult considering the team will play their heart out for Moyes as its going to be his last game in charge

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 May 2013 11:24:43
I hope Mikel doesn't start alongside Lampard today, or we're screwed. It's got to be Luiz and Lampard hopefully.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mikel's attitude worries me, he makes it evident he doesn't care about the Europa League, so I'd rather him start today than Wednesday.
His attitude needs to improve especially if Mourinho comes back. Don't think Jose will allow a player who let's opposition ghost passed him and has no interest of sprinting.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2013 10:36:14
ED002 was Mourinho really the first choice for Manchester United manager job after Ferguson announced the retirement or did the media make this story up?
Johnnycfc {Ed002's Note - Moyes was first choice from January. Prior to that the club had made efforts to attract Guardiola.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 May 2013 00:22:42
Do you think Chelsea will attempt to sign Cavani this summer?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hopefully. I'd rather him than Falcao because of his freakish athleticism. That being said whoever comes in won't be a miracle worker. Earlier this year cavani had a Torres esque streak in terms of a dry spell in front of goal. I'd love for a striker of that class to come in but with Falcao looking likely to go to Monaco and lewandowski to bayern it's going to be a tough to get one. Fingers crossed.
